Purchased 09 Ford Flex Limited in 2009. Loved it, but traded for 2011 Ford Explorer when rumors were that Ford was going to discontinue Flex. Had nothing but probs with my touch on the Explorer, traded for 2011 Ford Titanium. Due to oversized wheels and tires, it drove like a lumber wagon. Check with dealer on smaller wheels/tires, made me a better deal on 2012 Flex Limited. Had 2012 on lot, I drove it, huge difference in ride from Titanium. Have since order 2012 Flex Limited, anxiously awaiting delivery. P.S.-It is not my habit to trade this often, but have been offered great deals from my dealer. I know the deals are real, as I am a retired auto sale rep. (30+ years).

I have a fam of 5, we live at 9000 ft on top of a mountain in Colorado with switchbacks an heavy winters, I commute 30 min each way to work and live on a very tight budget. I have had over a dozen vehicles in the last 15 years, as I seem to have the devils luck in cars. This Flex has been my lifesaver. Regular maintenance, the occasional windshield replacement (living in The Rockies does that), and switching 20"rain tires for 18" snow tires has been my only costs in 2 years, purchased used at 98k, now has almost 150k (we road trip a lot too). Plus we have the EcoBoost which has saved our lives countless times living on the hwy and gas mileage is pretty dang decent. Update: sadly at the beginning of the year something failed in my turbo, which then ended up blowing the engine while I still over several thousand on it. :( I still miss my Flex though. I would get another if I could afford it, but I would definitely take it in for checkups more often.

My First Flex was a 2010 Limited with EcoBoost. It was one of the first production models with Ecoboost and I had some growing pains with turbos brakes, calipers, and fuel injection. Ford covered it all with no complaints. I just bought a 2013 Flex with Ecoboost and this car is a total upgrade to the 2010. Ride, power, comfort, quietness, amenities are totally transformed. Ford totally believes in this car with the engineering upgrades they have done. I put a lot of windshield time behind the wheel being a salesman. This car rocks for someone needing carrying capacity, comfort, yet entertaining to drive, its quick. Its a Mini Cooper on steroids.

Bought our beautiful Ruby Red Ford Flex new in 2013. We have around 75K miles on it. I love it. It is roomy, comfortable and drives like a dream. Wish Ford wasn't stopping production. I'd buy a new one in a flash. Great car. Too bad it was never properly marketed.

Great power, great hauling, love it. I was a little concerned about the temperature controls not having buttons and being touch, but it has worn very nicely with no noticeable wear and tear over 100k miles. The air conditioned seats are a bit flaky, but over a 100k miles and has needed nothing except tires and alignments, oil and air filters, and windshield wipers. Car seats are a bit of a struggle especially when you have 4 of them and have to climb into the back seat to buckle the kids, or worse remove and install the seats. The low roof makes it difficult to fit your body on top of the car seat to reach down into the nether regions to connect the straps. Once connected though the kids have no problem getting in and out and operating all the buttons to do it themselves. In the busy city sometimes you just need some grunt to get the thing moving and the AWD ecoboost does that with zero complaints.... Need to hit that hold in traffic as it flows past? No problem, it squirts with the best of them. In a drag race it launches a bit soft I suspect that is to protect transmission and other drivetrain bits, but past 20 mph she really digs and goes.
