We bought a used 2013 Edge in 2016 and I have to say. In terms of handling, there isn't a whole lot of road feel. Acceleration is more than adequate. Plenty of power. Gas mileage is about 19 in the city and 22 on the highway at 65mph. Front visibility is excellent and the cabin is pretty quiet, but can instantly be upset by New England road defects, i.e. potholes (lots of) and bumps. You get a rather "jarring" effect - from the rear end - as it has the tendency to slam down with a thud. Driver and passenger comfort are a plus, esp. with the electric seats. Rear seating is comfortable as well and there's lots of room and lots of storage/hauling space. But, and as in many vehicles, the seat belt latches are a challenge to engage when you have three older children in the back seat. The gauges are pretty easy to read. There is a big learning curve with the navigation system, as it asks you questions that don't sound like questions. There's also a learning curve for the heat/vent/air conditioning controls.. It took my a while to figure it all out. I find I have to keep on my high beams on dark, back roads to see properly. I added a rear top bumper protector to protect the paint where the rear hatch comes down. Why Ford did not include a protective top surface is a mystery. A metal coolant line leaked at 60,000 miles, two wheel bearings had to be replaced along with a squeaky rear transfer case? All replaced though my extended warranty.

I had a 2007 Ford Edge never gave me a bit of trouble. But: My 2013 Ford Edge is nothing but drama. Recall after recall. First the defrost didn't work and would throw on the a/c. 2nd the throttle body car would stall, 3rd the booster for the brakes (no brakes at all) Now the PTU (smells) all happened within 5 months time of the next. I'm truly heart broken. I loved my Edge. The only thing they covered was the booster under warranty. Unfortunately this will be my last Ford.

This car surpassed my expectation. The quality is very good and came very well equippted. The seats provide good support both front and rear. The Ford My Touch is vastly inproved. I test drove the 2.0 engine for 1 week but felt it to be a bit under powered and had too much down shifting for my liking. Although the 3.5 engine is more than capable, quiet and reliable it seems to fall short in overall gas milage. Overall the car is great and we look foward to many trips with it.
