2015 Chevrolet Trax LTZ 4dr SUV (1.4L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Traded in Chevy Equinox 2LT but wanted smaller suv, now, no kids, etc. This does the job. Surprised with responsiveness of small engine but turbo does the job very well. Passing a car or interstate entrance much better that the 4 cyl Equinox. Good mileage but not much better than Equinox on highway. But much better in-town. Disappointed with one sun visors. They don't extend to … cover the whole window when positioned on either driver or passenger side windows. Only covers half. Miss the power lift gate. Not an option on Trax.
Lots of maintenance

2015 Chevrolet Trax LTZ 4dr SUV (1.4L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
I have the 2015 LTZ. It had one owner before me and I've had it for 2.5 years. In that 2.5 years I've had more maintenance issues than I expected. Last year I had the engine overheat and needed to replace the water pump and thermostat. 8 months later the car started jerking during acceleration and idle which required the spark plug coils to be replaced. Two weeks after that, the A/C … stopped working and the check engine light came on two different times due to a faulty thermostat sensor. All three of these fixes were very pricey and it seems too much and not worth the hassle. I really liked the car but I'm afraid of what other maintenance issues I may encounter.
Expensive turbo cooling lines

2015 Chevrolet Trax LTZ 4dr SUV (1.4L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
2021 noticed slow deposits of fluid on the driveway. Dealer added the tell tale ingredients to the oil. Turbo cooling lines leaking. Basically the same issue on the Saab 9-5 I had after GM took them over. Less than 50K miles. Get your checkbook out, right about $1K for the repair. June 2022 noticed radiator fluid decline. Dealer pressure checked, radiator leaking. No, has never been in … any confrontation with anything. Hope you have a private maintenance plan, $1K there about. Their parts are without a doubt nickel, dime and penny squeezed. As is their coil pack and plugs. Last GM/Chevy ever. Only 60’s and 70’s classics. My 87 Grand National was no Diamond. No, never raced.
Ignition coil

2015 Chevrolet Trax LTZ 4dr SUV (1.4L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Had acceleration issues and skip. The dash sensor display cited ABS and drive issues. Last I knew an engine skip is usually an ignition issue. Diagnostic did not reveal that but the coil and plugs were the issue. Apparently the programmer has no real time auto experience. Last of my GM/Chevy purchases. So much for the 100K spark plus nonsense. I am a former racer and car builder. Sort of … have a touch of a background.
