I decide to check out the reviews on the Equinox after my wife purchased one this year. She's had what seems to be a common and on going problem with this truck. The jerking during acceleration. We have had several tune up(The dealer said that was the problem) to NO availe. Now it's more of a bigger problem than I ever thought. I decide to just ask an Equinox owner out of the blue. So I went to the local truck stop and wait for the 1st Equinox to arrive and it didn't take long. About 6 min later one pulled up and I asked the driver about any problems. Well guess what, they were having the same problem. So, I think this is a recall Item. But because the Equinox is one of there bests

We bought this vehicle used with 60,000 miles almost 2 years ago. Since it was used, we went ahead and got the extended warranty from the dealership. we had to replace the plugs for the car chargers, we had to replace the heated seat sensors twice w/in 2 weeks, the ignition cylinder had to be replaced so that the car would stop cutting in and out. Then just after the warranty expired, we were told the routers needed to be replaced, but in order to do so the entire brake system had to be done. We've had a slight power steering leak, and today while driving down a country road the transmission went out!! Ahhh, stay away from this money pit. Not worth the problems and money

All was well until I hit about 98K miles. It all started when the ABS and Stabilitrac system began to malfunction. It would be just fine for a while then the system would show that it would need to be serviced. When this warning is enabled it doesn't allow you to use the cruise control. Then, it began to start very sluggishly. After doing some research it looked like all I need was to replace the fuel filter. The only problem is that the fuel filter is built into the pump so you have to replace the WHOLE UNIT (About $400). Not long after these things started happening we had to replace the transmission ($3500). We had a few other repairs a few months later amounting over $1000. I finally had enough when I received a phone call from my wife who was traveling with my kids while I was out of the country saying that they are broke down on the side of the road. The engine blew a spark plug, and with some research we found that this is a defect in the way the motor was built. Then a few months later the locks began to go haywire and the seal around the gas tank needed to be replaced due to it breaking down. We finally decided it was time to just cut ties. I would also like to add that any simple repair to be done on these cars is a NIGHTMARE!

What a piece of manufacturing ! 09 equinox was purchased after the 2010's came out. After approximately 30,000miles developed a misfire took it to a shop, replaced 1 sparkplug still misfired 50-60 mph. Replaced all spark plugs & wires. Was somewhat better. Ignition key fails to release key most of the time. Auto door locks have failed one at a time, continues to misfire code reeder said to replace erg valve.did replace it. Still misfires head lights collect moisture inside. Car has about 78,000 now but has never ran correctly After reading other post of other owners this is not a uncommon problem. 09 was after the Gov.bailout of GM. So I M P OD! Will think better not to buy GM.

My wife and I bought the Equinox LT2 AWD used with about 19k miles on it. Due to Chevrolet's hit or miss reliability, we purchased the additional full warranty through 75k miles coverage. Since we bought it, we have put a ton of highway miles on it and now has 78k miles on it. The entire time we have had it--no problems thus far. The only thing we have noticed was the paint bubbles from road debris which isn't covered. I was completely surprised to read all of the terrible reviews about the Equinox on this site. We have had NO water inside, no transmission problems, no engine misfiring or anything. It has been a great buy for us and we would recommend!
