A new MDX
We just acquired a new MDX from Bloomington Acura and Edward Kaspustin. A truly great buying experience. Edward spent a great deal of time before and after the purchase going over the MDX and its features and followed up after the purchase to see how it was performing and how we liked the vehicle. Outstanding

Awesome Investment
I absolutely love my MDX! I researched a lot of vehicles before making this purchase and found the value, features, and interior space to be the best. I also know it will remain reliable for several years as is the Acura standard.

Fuel door, front and rear bumpers don’t align
Recently got a 2017 sh-awd Advanced. Traded in our 13 Odyssey Elite. Powertrain seems good on the mdx and handling is great. Dashboard kind of cheap looking. Driver side front bumper don’t line up, rear bumper center sticking up to also touch hatch, fuel door sticks out and seems as if it’s not closing . I ended up removing the front and rear bumpers myself and found a few taps wasn’t locked in. I still need to figure out the fuel door issue. I could have taken it back to the dealer but didn’t want them to screw anything up. Anyone with success with dealer correcting these issues?

I love this car
I have owned my 2017 Acura MDX for a year. I'm in love. I got it fully loaded. It is really peppy, drives so responsively, and is incredible in the snow. I live on a steep hill, and this car rips uphill in the worst snow, like it's not even an issue. The creature comforts are fantastic, and user friendly. I would buy it again in a second.

Luxury with Missing Details
We purchased our 2017 new in August 2017 in the Black Copper Pearl exterior and Espresso interior. We've also owned a 2008 and 2012 and loved everything about these cars. Except the Technology package does not come with a roof rack nor fog lights. To my surprise, the dealer would not include these in my deal as the parts and labor to install were almost $2,000.00. The fog lights alone were over $800 as the steering column has to be disassembled to install the fog light controls on a whole new turn signal lever. The roof rack requires rails and crossbars, two separate parts that totaled $1,200.00. They offered me an Advance for close to the same uncharge but they could not find the exterior/interior color combination in all of California. Additionally, the vehicle would not adapt to Apple Car Play (I hear the new models now do) so we use Waze the old-fashioned way - hand held. Other than that, it is a phenomenal vehicle. I keep the transmission in Sport mode and the SH-AWD has me woo-hooing when we drive up to Lake Tahoe or Lake Berryessa. And the Lane Keeping Assist Steering really does keep you within the lines, even when you take your hands off the wheel (but dash reminds you to keep your hands on after about 10 seconds). Blind spot alerts let you know when a vehicle is passing and the cruise control has "radar" that will slow you down when you approach a vehicle ahead of you. Interior storage is huge and the second row seats recline and slide back and forth. Great features for the fussy passengers.

Great car, transmission needs work Acura!
We just spent close to $50,000 on a luxury SUV, and yes, I have high expectations for a vehicle of that price. I have to say the transmission in the thing is HORRIBLE. It shifts REALLY hard between 1st and 2nd and again between 2nd and 3rd. It doesn’t matter if it’s cold or warm and the dealer is saying it’s our “fault” for not letting it warm up enough. That’s crap. It’s a poorly designed transmission. When you go on line, you’ll find MANY others now having the same issue. Is this the best Acura/Honda can do? I will continue to complain every time I go in, because I want problems down the road covered, because no piece of machinery should run that rough. The rest of the car is good. Comfort is OK, but the interior style is outdated. I don’t care too much though. The rest of the car has met or exceeded our expectations, being smooth, quiet and comfortable.

Should be considered among European rivals!
Throughout the three years (in September) that I’ve owned this vehicle, it’s put up with all the abuse that I’ve given it. From getting out of snowy situations, to literally climbing on ice, can’t forget about bogging through mud, rock crawling, and lastly jumping it, this MDX is reliable, and keeps on chugging. Based on what I’ve done, I doubt that any European competitor can do the same without repair. The acceleration is awesome, gas mileage is great, and maneuverability is also nice. Consider buying this!!

Piece of Crap
1. Some IGMO thought this is a great car? What a joke! 2. Key Fob (Yes, Acura—best brand of brand new batteries x 3) and car REFUSE to talk to each other. Acura demands $500 just to take door panel off and $750–$1K if they have to replace something. LUDICROUS 2. Put gas in but Low Fuel symbol stays lit. 3. These CARS aren't cheap—but so cheaply made!! 4. ACURA you're recycled 2 liter SODA BOTTLE from yesterday. 5. Work in a large hospital and when coworkers ask—I tell everyone—DON'T EVER buy an ACURA! 6. ACURA=Awful CrappyCar U'll Regret Always!! Ps: MDX IS NOT an SUV—just an OVER-PRICED Poo Crossover!!

Test drive
I have liked the look of the MDX for over 15 years. The MDX was in the final 2 of my selection process but in the end the technology wasn't as smooth and sleek in presentation as the vehicle I purchased. The MDX also drives like a truck and I selected a SUV that has a more sporty drive. I have teens that are now driving themselves and I don't need a third row however the middle row captain chairs make the MDX functionally a 4 person vehicle which was a negative to me. Finally, the price is high compared to the new sporty Mercedes GLC 300 which was my final selection.

A Six Seater
Has only 6 seats Transmission needs a better software for up and down shift. Was better in my old 2012 MDX Entertainment and Navigation systems are poor!!!!!!! Some active safety settings are not intuitive while driving. Regular maintenance is overpriced at dealers.

New MDX
I traded in a 2014 MDX because I got a great deal. The improvements in ride, navigation and interior comfort made it toatally worthwile. I really love this car. I just wish the Avdvance Pkg came with a 2nd row bench seat option, because I would have gone with that.

Acura’s are wonderful cars. Very good value .
This is my sixth or seventh Acura. I have never had any problem at all. I thought I did once but I found out I was causing the problem by having two keys in car that was confusing the signals.

MDX beats Audi Q5/Q7 and Lexus RX series SUVs....
See this for additional support - only the MDX wheel clutches engaged when needed vs. the Audi and Lexus competitors: https://youtu.be/k1i9zuVrWnY . This video was my clincher. The 2017 MDX has the lowest TCO and repairs on the 5 year average, with the best resale/residuals vs. its competitors. This is the most capable SUV of the 3 in this price range. Higher priced brands tend towards much higher maintenance and lower reliabilities. I don't think they are worth their prices given that reliability metric.

Great SUV for the money
Recently purchased the AWD MDX with Technology (2 yrs old and 3700 miles- what a find) and could not be more satisfied. The ONLY this I would improve on is the auto shifting from 1st to 2nd gear- not as smooth as it could be. The only change I would like (for me) is making the third room seating optional- would like the extra storage. My previous vehicle was a 2015 lexus 350 which I loved. Therefore I was somewhat hesitant to change to an Acura - what I found was the Acura is more comfortable, quicker, and much more pleasurable to drive. I must say I am surprised - but thrilled!

The BEST SUV Go-Cart money can buy
I love my MDX except for the transmission and the “feature” that turns off the engine upon stopping. The salesman told me that feature can be turned off in the system settings but it can not be. It can be turned off every time the vehicle is started but it’s extremely annoying do that. If that’s a feature then a tooth ache is enjoyable. I’m not sure what Honda is doing with this 9-speed transmission but it’s horrible. When I was a kid we used to make go-carts and have pulleys and belts with bailing wire holding everything together. The go-card would jump and jerk to get up to speed. And often slip and be unpredictable. That’s what this 9-speed transmission reminds me of except it’s in a $55K vehicle. Ridiculous!

Great car with one glaring clay foot
Car is excellent in all respects looks, power train, suspension, interior and space utilization as well as gas mileage and adequate power. The one glaring fault is the Voice recognition software ( not the navigation which works fine) . Extremely hard to get voice recognition to determine what you are saying; forcing me to use my cellphone to accomplish destination instructions. Hopefully the new MDX with carplay and android will permit cellphone use through the nav suatem to provide adequate voice recognition.. Sold the car last year, with regrets

Comfortable and Athletic
I got this car new for my wife. She loves it. I drive it occasionally and on long trips. It feels athletic and light on its feet for such a big car. Her previous car was an Audi Q5 Quattro. That was a great car, but we both like her MDX better. The Audi had the Bang and Olufsen sound system. It was really good but the Acura ELS is a step above. I have the Harman Kardon in my BMW, and I like my wife’s ELS more. Our only complaint is the address entry in the nav is clunky and slow.

Just an ok vehicle
Nav system is horrible. Clunky & difficult to use. Original tires & rims are problematic. Rim edges extend outside the tire so getting close to a curb (parallel parking!) ends up scratching the rims. Comfortable ride. Ok gas mileage. Good highway, lousy city. Terrific cargo area. Lots of space & ideal for traveling. Service costs are considerably more than my highlander but less than the luxury class including Mercedes & Lexus.

Reliable
Not the sexiest vehicle in the world, and has had a few minor imperfections that needed repair . But runs well and will probably continue to do so for many thousands of miles . Handles well , responsive and gives the driver a feeling of being pretty safe . Overall good car .

Had to have the engine replaced!
I really like the car when everything is working properly but we had a u-joint go out earlier this year ($1200) and here we are 5 months later needing a new ENGINE! $8500!! WARRANTY OUT! We had a 2003 Honda Pilot that was 14 years old with 300,000 miles that got ran like a dog that NEVER faltered once! I babied the Acura getting it serviced regularly with not half the miles and the Pilot like I said never got the care our MDX got and I’ll guarantee it’s still running somewhere while that beautiful Acura is broke down again in my driveway.

Great Car!
I recently purchased this car and am leaving this review to capture my initial impressions. I bought the Advance SH-AWD for $20,000 with 80,000 miles on it. All services were accounted for on the Carfax report. The car drives smoothly, and each driving mode offers a unique experience. I'm averaging about 26 MPG so far, which is great. The bucket seats in the back provide individual spaces for the kids, giving the car a premium feel, and they are spacious enough for adults. The third row, however, is best suited for children or very small adults. The stereo system is decent, though it lacks Android Auto (which I plan to add soon). My wife and I both appreciate the dual screens, especially since we can display the map on one while controlling the audio on the other. The trunk space is decent with the third row up, and it's huge with the third row down. Overall, this car is amazing, and I hope I still feel this way in 3, 5, and 7 years!

Roadside Assistance from Hell
Had a dead battery. Acura Roadside Assistance sent Royal Towing. The guy didn't know how to open hood. Couldn't jump. Second row operator couldn't jump either. He couldn't tow because he needed special tool to put car in neutral. Push button transmission doesn't work without battery power. Third tow truck driver said he wasn't going to waste his time unless cash was paid. Acura Roadside Assistance is suppose to be free? Fourth Towing county, Advantage finally got it. They were a pleasure to deal with unlike Acura Roadside Assistance personal.

Still feels like a new car
Had a 2004 MDX for many years and felt that it was the best ever and just purchased this 2017. Have had it for a a couple years and we are still learning all about it. The ride and performance is great. The technology features are still a problem. Seems like we frequently checking with UTUBE on how to do something or redo something that has happened. At times it feels like there is just too much on it and you have to go through many layers to fix and/or change.

I love my SUV. I would not trade it for anything but another one.
The Good the Bad & the Ugly
Make sure the dealer covers all the extras (at extra cost) that you consider to be standard with the MDX and they are Not! Very disappointing!
