2012 Volkswagen Tiguan SE 4dr SUV w/Sunroof, Navigation (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Purchased the 2012 Tiguan after seeing it at the dealer.
It looks great and the interior is "Audi-esque". The radio and nav system are very cool. The interior is top notch.
It drives very well and is smooth over bumps and ruts.
It has very good acceleration and handles like a sporty car. Averaging 27.8 mpg combined according to the Tiguan's computer.
Would definitely purchase another one.
The only thing I would change is offering the LED/Xenon headlights on the SE model as a option.
Update: Purchased the Tiguan just about 8 months and 7000 miles ago and it is still great! No significant issues and still averaging above 28 mpg now. Love how it handles corners and the overall driving experience.
The only minor issue is the Nav system is not intuitive.
Especially if the street has a North, South, West or East designation in it, i.e. South Main Street. Seems the navigation struggles with this or perhaps it is lack of user understanding. We have figured out how to back into the address by starting with the state, then city, then street which sometimes helps.
Also, we have experienced the low RPM growl around 40mph similiar to other people.
Not a big deal but will have the transmission update performed when it goes in for its 10k service.
