Tough Act to Beat!

I spent several months researching all cars in this class and chose the 2004 model even though 2003's are cheaper. It's got great reliability, resale value, and exceptional build quality. Also, it's got comfy seats and a real smooth engine/transmission combo. The 2004 EX model upgrades make it more distinctive (new alloys, front/rear lights & bumpers, antilock brakes, stereo & sound insullation, driver's seat adjustment, new center console) plus the new Magnesium color looks great! The power moonroof eats up a lot of headroom but I'm 6-1" and can still fit but it's a little snug - thank goodness the driver's seat adjusts up and down!

I managed to score a decent used one of these with 80k miles and drove it cross country last summer; I have been enjoying it ever since. Yes, the interior is rather basic, and it's a little buzzy at highway speeds... but in every other respect, a really solid car and great value. Nimble handling, slick shifter, quite peppy with the manual transmission and VTEC engine, reasonable stereo. Also consistently gets 35-40 mpg. Hard to go wrong!

I have always heard about hondas, but I was a big 3 guy. After hearing horror story after horror story on the big three. I wasn't impressed anymore either too many sensor issues, drivetrain problems. On new vehicles. So I decided to get a honda civic for my 80 mile commute back and forth to work. The guy that sold it to me put in a newer engine bc the previous one had blown. Even then their were some things that I had to fix. After investing 360 dollars and one weekend I have the car that is dependable and from what I found very easy to work on.

Used to own a '91 Accord (with 250K on odometer at the time it was totaled). Honda's have come a long way since then. At first I thought I'd stepped down from an Accord to get into the Civic, but now I'm totally satisfied, especially with the wonderful gas mileage this vehicle offers. Furthermore, a smaller car is easier to park! I'm not totally in love with this vehicle though, however I am, like I said, very satisfied with the purchase. And, as a repeat Honda owner, I have no doubt about it's exceptional reliability. Yet, needs work on the exterior durability. Dings and scratches easily. It's great to know that this car will probably last as long as my former Honda too.
