Used 2004 Volvo XC90 Consumer Reviews
Excellent Value
Very pleased with the vehicle overall. Moved from a Volvo sedan and experienced some difficulty re-learning to parallel park. It is larger than it appears. Terrific ride. Responsive handling and stops like every other Volvo....when you need it! Test drove many other SUV's but glad I waited for a Volvo.
dashboard illumination sucks
Electronic dashboard controls are often impossible to read in bright daytime. The idiot who designed this must drive at night only, or else only drives on dark, cloudy days. This is a major flaw that Volvo should correct (on new and existing models), because it would prevent me from purchasing another Volvo XC-90.

Family of six
Owned the car for four years and very satisfied with performance and reliability. Perfect sized. Not too big or small. Four children and both parents travel regularly in it.
BRAKE PAD REPLACED AT 15000 MILES!!!!!!
I bought a brand new volvo XC90 T6 model, May 2003. It has been ONLY 10 months, and ONLY 15,000 miles, and the FRONT BRAKE PADS ARE WORN 90%. And, the dealer is saying since it has passed the 12,000 miles, it cannot be covered under warranty, and they also claim it is normal. I've owned many cars in my life, and I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCE HAVING TO REPLACE A BRAKE PAD ON A BRAND NEW CAR FOR 15,000 miles on it!!!!!!!! It cost me $175 for it. I had a Nissan Pathfider just before this, and the front brake pads were replace at 60,000 miles. What a difference. I am very very disappointed with the quality / durability of Volvo. They look great, but they cost a lot.
Have NOT Experienced Any Negatives
My wife and I ordered our XC-90 through a local dealership then went over to Sweden to test drive it for a week. Volvo shipped it back for us 10 days later. The vehicle has been perfect for the past 6 years. I am however, quite concerned with all the negative reviews here. Of all the vehicles I've owned throughout my life, I must admit that this XC-90 beats them all by far.
