Used 2015 Volvo S60 Sedan Consumer Reviews
No more Volvo, please!
I was a loyal Volvo customer from 2004 until 2024. Here is my story: 2004 - I bought a new S40 for my wife. We loved that car and passed it to our daughter in 2015. The car was serviced at dealership mostly and made ~335,000 miles without major issues / repairs until I junked it in 2017. 2007 - I bought a new XC90 for myself. It's a great car and I'm still driving it. Now it has ~211,000 miles. This car also was serviced at dealership mostly and hasn't had any major issues / repairs. 2015 - I bought a new S60 for my wife. We loved that car too but the problem with excessive oil consumption started right after purchasing it. I had to add 1 quart of oil like 3-4 times between oil changes (10,000 miles). Volvo dealership did 3 tests but could not find anything wrong with it. I had some suspicions about their test because they never allow me to bring the car to them when it was asking to add oil. The test was always like "we topped the oil please bring the car back for check in exactly 3 days no longer" and no oil level change could be found in 3 days obviously. Bottom line - at 125,000 miles (in 2024) 2 cylinder out of 4 lost compression and dealership told me that the engine has to be replaced for $8,000-$12,000. Volvo refused to reimburse anything at all. Conclusion - no Volvo anymore!

Would buy another one
Great value for the money. Loved that Volvo includes all the maintenance for 4 years/50 K miles. Had one problem with the computer that ran the infotainment center, dealer took care of everything immediately. Local Volvo dealer has been great to work with and has done all the routine maintenance on the vehicle included with the purchase. Tires could have lasted a bit longer, but provided good grip and drivability. This is our second S60, first one was a leased 2012 which convinced us to buy the 2015. Expect that it will last another 4 years w/o any issues.

Beyond disappointed, what happened to VOLVO?!
My 2015 S60 purchased as a demo w 6000 miles. At present, 39k miles. I selected car for seats and Volvo brand history of mileage warrior. I’M CONVINCED I PURCHASED A LEMON! From day one, my check engine light has appeared. Moving forward, happened multiple times and local Volvo never found out why? Clearly an engine issue but each time told “all ok,” as couldn’t find code or issue. More importantly, a maintained low mileage car such as a Volvo shouldn’t need a new starter, fuel injector, two new batteries and completely new engine…hmm, could this be related to earlier engine light (s). All under warranty, but this still shouldn’t be happening. Sad, as I wanted to be a Volvo car family for life…
