My Venza woes PART 1

Purchaced new off the lot late in 2010 as a 2011 model. This vehicle has been a huge let down, I have had a truly unacceptable amount of issues with it. Lets start with dead batterys, I can't count how many times this car has failed to start because its dead. Toyota has replaced the battery 6 times now, they have no idea where the drain is coming from. I've also had troubles with transmission shifting, rattles, wind noise, creeking sounds when going over speed bumps, a dead climate control unit, and i'm sure there will be more as I only have 37,000 on it. Also fair to mention this baby is a fuel-a-holic, 15-17 MPG mixed with mostly highway is average. I will update quarterly with my reviews

We bought this car new in 2011. It's now 2021 and we have put almost 190K miles on it. In all that time and miles, the only issues we have had were a wheel bearing and the radiator. One of the front wheel bearings went out relatively early in it's life (maybe around 70K miles). The mechanic had a trick to repair the bearing (normally you have to replace it). He saved us a bunch of money doing that and it's still going fine. The other bearing has been fine all this time, so the first one was probably defective from the factory. The radiator had a small leak around 120K miles. We replaced it and it's been good since then. Besides normal maintenance (oil, brakes, fluids, spark plugs, etc), I replaced the rear 2 shock/struts myself at around 180K miles. That's it! The car looks incredibly good and people can't believe it is so old with so many miles. The interior has held up perfectly. The seats look great and the dash is perfect. It drives like new and we average 22 mpg. I plan to put 250K on it before looking for a new ride.

One of the best cars ive ever owned!

Yes its a Toyota. Yes its a crossover…but. We have had 2; and they have been one of the BEST cars ever. The Venza can fit a 77” sofa; a full size in-ground basketball hoop; a very heavy 6 foot long credenza (buffet table) all in the trunk with the seats down (at different times)!!!! It may not be the fastest car out there but it is great and lasts a long time! Unique and fun to own. 100% reccomend. Never once had an issue with the Venza!

Disappointed with ride/handling

I have less than 500 miles on new 2011 Venza and I'm ready to sell it. Very unhappy with the handling. At highway speed it requires constant attention to keep it straight. It just seems to wander out of the lane. It doesn't ride as smooth as I expected either. After first 2 hr trip I thought tires might be over inflated. I checked but all were set at 32 psi. After second 2 hr trip I have same complaint. Must be the electronic steering. This weekend I took my 2007 Honda Accord on same normal trip and remembered how great it handles. It required very little attention to keep in straight. I bought this car to be my primary road trip car because it has larger interior than Hond

I've had several issues with this vehicle in the last year and half. A total of 14 seperate dealership visits with problems in areas such as- Battery, rattles and build quality issues, transmissiom, heated seats, stability control, and remote keyless system. Toyota service is awesome some days, and terrible the next. I'm not the only Venza owner with a problem car as i've met several more just at my dealership. What happened Toyota? MY 00' 4 runner feels better built at 200,000+ miles.
