Used 2005 Toyota Prius Consumer Reviews
Prius is Tops
The most important feature of the Prius is zero emissions. Higher gas mileage is second. We need to create more vehicles that are environmentally friendly as the Prius is. I love the ride and how it handles. I am not crazy about the hatchback feature, but it is not a major drawback, either.
Best Car Ever
Loved my 2001 Prius, but the new one is even better. Quiet, smooth, fast enough, roomy, comfortable, and feels good to drive knowing it sips gas so slowly.

driving is fun again
Ordered my Prius June 2004, dealership called me the 31st of Jan 05 to tell me some one didn't want their Prius that had just come in, did I want to come take a look at it. Wasn't expecting mine till June of 05. It wasn't the color I ordered and didn't have VSC, high intensity headlights and fog lights but it did have the 6 CD JVC stereo. I took it. All I can say is poor guy that decided he didn't want it. I've been driving for 40 years and suddenly I feel like a kid again. This car is really a blast to drive, it has just as much get up and go as my 93 Bonneville but gets 46.5 average mpg so far, rather than 22. It is surprisingly roomy, I love it.
We LOVE this Prius
The gas mileage and the engineering that went into the design and of this car is supurb. It proves that hybird cars can be built and are in demand in this country. We waited 8 months for ours; now the anticipated wait is 18 months. We had the choice of the car that came in with its factory options or waiting for the next one. As supply equals demand perhaps specific options can be ordered and delivered as ordered. Meanwhile, like the VW of old, you take what comes in. One difficulty is determining where the curb of the road is - there is no visable fender to guide driver. Love it.
It's Been Magnificient So Far!
Four months and no complaints. After 7000 miles and one service, runs like a dream. Only surpise so far is the salesman cautioned against trusting EPA mileage, say 45 MPG more realistic. But in mixedhighway/local driving, getting almost 50 (started lower but increased and leveling off). After driving a Sienna, braking takes getting used to, because Prius (it is smaller) brakes much more responsively. Only negatives so far: 1. Navigation system still drives us crazy, though. Too complicated--but I can't compare it to others on the market. 2. Bluetooth cell phone feature not compatible with all phones. This is a software problem being worked on by phone cos. and Toyota.
