Used 2005 Toyota Prius Consumer Reviews
Over 60 MPG
With 2000 miles, I'm averaging 62mpg (actual calculated mileage). I'm a conservative driver and have learned to squeeze every mile out of a gallon. I should get 65+mpg during the fall and winter.
Pleasantly surprised
More room and acceleration than expected. Ride is good but not great. So far we like it a lot.

2005 Toyota Prius
It's just a fun car. There is a learning curve involved with getting the promised mileage. Once you learn to ease your foot off the gas and trust the electric motor, the gas savings can be impressive.
Nice Car!!
I really enjoy this car! There are a few things that could be better. The rear view dimmer mirror is nice when cars are far away, but when they get close as the often do, the mirror does not dim. There is one feature that doesnt make sense. If you are going down the road and listening to the radio, in the console there is a button that says there is a message, and when you go to push it to see it, there is a message that comes up that says that you cant view the message while driving! I really enjoy the great gas mileage. I have seen my average say 57 before, which was great for going up and down 2 mountains one way to work. The car is a bit expensive, but great otherwise.
Toyota Hybrids still rule
Excellent car except for expectation of better mileage has been a miserable failure. We also own a 2002 Prius and its mileage per gallon is close to the Prius 04. Both average between 37 to 41 miles per gallon. The 2002 has about 20,000 miles, while the 2004 has just under 10,000. Sharp turning radius is great. Steering and suspension the best of any car I've ever owned. It's too bad the rating is so far off and is still being used on the new window stickers.
