Who designed the hitch wiring?
I just picked this 2022 limited up yesterday so I will have to update this review in a few weeks. However, the wiring receptacle for the trailer is horrible. It is not next to the receiver. It is off to the left of the spare tire under the vehicle. You have to lay down to open the cover to plug in a connector. Will have to purchase a pigtail and find a way to leave it plugged in.

Drove one for 7 days
MY 2022 Toyota 4 Runner 7-day road test with 20,000 miles on it. I rented it in Florida last week and put on 300 miles. My first impression was opening the door after pulling on the door handle and then letting it go I heard the cheap hollow tiny sound of an empty beer can not the deep bump sound I expected. Auto manufactories pay attention to sounds of perceived quality Toyota missed this one throughout the whole vehicle. My second finding was, this is a 270 HP gas hog with no power I had to depress the gas pedal 2 to 3 inches so it would move. I felt like it was something from the 1980s I don't mind gas hogs I own some because they're fast, and fun gas hogs this is a boring ugly vehicle that only a mother could love. The 5-speed trans is such old technology it's a joke, it is a big cause of this very underpowered vehicle using so much gas. It didn't even have an automatic A/C and Heater I was always having to adjust the temperature as I was driving in the Florida 80-degree temps. The seats were hard, and the dash and console are one molded hard cheap plastic pieces as ugly as the outside. The floor shifter had so many strange slots it was troublesome to use and find the position. When I went to gas it up I was shocked to find an old-fashioned gas cap that took too many turns to remove everyone has capless refueling. The tailgate was manual and hard to close you needed to use your hands on the outside which is the dirtiest part of any vehicle because aerodynamics causes dirt to always attach to the rear of a vehicle so my hands were always dirty closing it and driving off not a good feeling, a short man and most women could not close it. It also had what people call hi-tech new feathers such as the adaptive cruise control that I have on my Tahoe, so I tried out Toyota's version and found it to be so bad I stopped using it it has a slow response and stayed too far behind the vehicle in front of me and did not come to a complete stop it just beeped to tell you you better slam on your brakes my Tahoe comes to a complete stop and then rolls forward 3 feet and stops again just like a driver would do it is flawless. Everyone offers an 8 and 10-speed transmission who buys these things I guess they don't check out the competition they read reviews written by writers who must be on the take always favoring foreign cars.
