Just right for my six foot frame

I’m a widower eligible for social security but still working and running a farm and have a couple of rental properties. Recently my very dependable 2003 Chevy Silverado started having multiple problems. Well it is 20 years old so I definitely think I got my money’s worth. I needed a vehicle to collect rent but sexy enough to impress potential tenants and land owners to convince them I could be trusted to take care of their farm land if they leased it to me. So off I went tried to buy another Chevy but I think someone forgot to tell the dot com millionaires they should be driving Beamers. To make a long story short I found I could buy two 4Runners for the price of a Chevy or Ford or Toyota pickup. Since I didn’t need another pickup (own a Ford F250 7.3 diesel with 288k) I decided to look for a midsize SUV capable of towing up to 5,000 pounds. Yelp sometimes you need to move more than one piece of farm machinery at time (Like hay rake and baler) making two trips is simply not an option… might as well retire and wither away in Florida, probably be cheaper. Off to the car lot tried a Toyota Highlander but found it made for short people with patented leather shoes. Test drove a Honda pilot but looks like a soccer mom’s mini van on the inside. The Ford Flex, Explorer man I guess they think anyone with cataracts can drive so all interiors need to be cave like that way you can’t see how dirty they are on the inside. Finally happened upon a Toyota 4Runner with a beige interior. Looks like you would have to have step ladder to get in one but surprisingly I found my butt is the exact height of the passenger seat. My bad my 5’2” girlfriend is my usual driver while I navigate. She was able to hop right in using the optional step rail which I simply stepped over. Inside the cabin it’s like a safety officer’s training area. The windshield is placed perfectly to see a panoramic view of the highway (very useful when you’re pulling a $20,000 Baler thru a gated community full of those dot com millionaires vehicles on your way to to the 20 acre common area overlooking the new river). And when you get to the end of the paved road and turn off on the trail first used by Daniel Boone to get to the hay field the 4x4 mode is very easy to find right on the dash underneath the radio. The 4x4 engages and you’d think the 4 liter V6 magically became a 3 liter ECO Diesel with the massive amount of torque available to the driver. Did I say sometimes you can’t get all those 2,000 pound hay bales on the trailer being pulled by the F250. But you can get two of them on a typical landscaping trailer. The 4Runner grunted a little but did an admirable job pulling them to the horse farm a few miles up the road. We opted for the 5 seater model so the cargo area easily carried all the tack gear we needed to go on a ride around the farm with the farmer’s daughter(s). I think she thinks my tractors sexy or it might have been my business partner who is in his late 20’s. A plumber by trade and moonlights for me as my ramrod. Atlas if I’ve caught your attention for this long I imagine what you want to know about the 4Runner. Although I’ve only owned it for about a month I find it very ma·neu·ver·a·ble in both on and off the road. Dependability was a key consideration as a lot of the land we lease is far from a cell tower and the 4 liter engine is virtually unchanged since 2012. My only con is I wish Toyota would put the 8 way seat on all trim levels. Excellent vehicle if you’re looking for a rugged dependable utilitarian SUV this is the vehicle for you. If you’re a dot com millionaire looking to carry two families to the beach whilst towing a yacht opt for a Ford Excursion with the 6.7 liter diesel engine.

What I love about my vehicle is its reliability, ground clearance, full-time 4 wheel drive, the leather cooled seats, JBL stereo, and the color of white blizzard pearl. It’s a great vehicle to modify too! Already added a 3/2 lift kit, and larger tires for an aggressive stance.

Handles like a dream on wet services or snow great ground clearance. Surprisingly comfortable ride. The only thing We had to get use to was turning raidius and toggling from radio to Android auto takes 2 screen pushes.

Drives and handles great, plenty of room and quiet inside. My only complaint is it lacks power....
