Unstoppable!!

My parents bought my 4runner when I was younger but I never thought that I would end up with it. This baby was on the showroom floor. I have had it now for 3 years and man oh man it's sweet, it goes anywhere! And with some slight mods its unstoppable! I have rolled it on its lid and I flipped it back over and within 2 hours it was running again! If you are doubting getting a 4runner I would think again this is one of the safest rigs out there! My baby off roads and races down the track. The best of both worlds!

I have had great performance from my 4- Runner. Mechanically, the only things that have been done are maintenance items. It is very reliable. Even with 98k miles, I don't hesitate to take it cross country with just my kids. Because Toyota doesn't constantly switch the body styles around, mine still looks just like new -- not to mention that it still drives the same as when I picked it up with 7 miles on it!

4 runner, 2wd, 4cyl

I bought my 4 runner new in 1996. It now has over 230,000 miles. Other than change the fluids and filters, and replacing the brakes, it's only required one repair; a cracked exhaust manifold at 190,000 miles. The 4 cylinder lacks power, but it gets good gas mileage (25 mpg highway). It will cruise at 80 on the highway as long as it's flat. The paint started fading after about 10 years. It also had two rust spots under the roof rack that I had to repair, but I'm not complaining since it sits outside, a mile from the ocean in South Florida.

The Perfect SUV

Every time I go to check out the latest and greatest in SUV's, I always come back to my 4Runner and resell myself. This is the mold for which all SUV's should be made from. Absolutely perfect all around. Plenty of power for it's mid-size, loads of comfort features, and it simply doesn't break down. Over 140,000 miles on it already, and confident it'll go another 140,000.

Classy, Tough, Reliable

138,000 miles to date, and plenty left on this truck. Have commuted 100 miles round trip the past 3 years, and never a worry in any weather. Head Gasket replaced at 30,000 per "recall" notice. Around 100,000 miles finally had the brakes replaced. Rear wheel bearings, too. Other than that, smooth sailing. Still has the original exhaust! Some small rust spots finally showing under the window weather stripping, and the bottom of the rear window. The rear hatch latch is getting pretty rusty; might soon it won't operate. But the truck has operated like a champ through thick and thin. 96 was the last year the 4-runner's style was best in class, in my opinion.
