The BEST car for the $$$!
I had been in desperate need of a new car, and was looking for something economical. I was considering the Mazda3, Corolla, Golf, etc. and stumbled a review on the new Scion by Toyota. All the reviews (including this site) had nothing but favorable things to say, and when I compared the options that came standard with Scion vs. the "others", I thought this sounds great! I ordered one without ever driving one and figured it is what it is, I just need something basic to get me around. I couldn't have been more surprised and pleased with a vehicle such as the xA. It handles very well and I'm currently averaging 40 mpg on the highway and I couldn't be happier!
A Keeper
This car has been great to me. And I am great to it. The Gas cap cover cable went the first year and Toyota had to replace something in the motor under the warranty but other than those two things this car has been worth every cent I paid for it. I thought it was an excellent deal when I bought it too. Got a bunch of nice options for really not much cash extra that really improves the looks and performance. It's good in the snow with the right tires as long as you drive at a safe speed and it will get up and go when I need it to. I love this car man!
Problems with the Scion xa model
Problems noted by consumers and reviewers. A/C not cold, Nose dive on hard stops, Wind nosie, Road nosie, No pick up. Now that I own a Scion here's my personal review. I previously drove a 95 toyota trecel with 133000 miles on it. For an economy car the xa has plenty of pick up. I can pass with ease, and get off the red light quick. A+ lots of pep. A/C they fixed that on the 2005 models. Hard stop dive. It is noticable if you slam the brakes down all the way to stop suddenly, but it is controlable and not worrisome. Nosie, wind is minimal even at 75 mph. Road, it could be a little better. Rough road = noise. This car is roomy, peppy, and a best buy in my book. A++ for it's class.
