Used 2000 Saturn L-Series Sedan Consumer Reviews
Junk
I bought this car used and had it for a little over two years before it died. First it was little things (that were costly to fix) went down the tubes on this car. Started out with the automatic shut off on the turn signal breaking, turns out you have to get a whole new steering column. Three of the four speakers blew and the tape deck quit working. Then the power locks went on the fritz. Next it was the odometer that went (no exact mileage makes it hard to sell). Then the blinkers quit working. Finally the engine blew. There were other things that went wrong under the hood also. I am willing to bet that I stuck more into the car than i did buying it.
Not Really a Saturn
Overall, I was happy with my S-Series Saturn so I decided to get an L- Series. This car is not up to Saturn quality. It was fine for the first year. Then when two years came around the transmission started to make noises and the electrical is acting up. Burned out dash light is $100 to fix, power door lock and cruise control broken. Now the Service light goes on and off and Saturn service doens't know why. Should have kept my old Saturn. Too bad since this car has the best performance with the V6 in its class. Handles great and lots of room. The perfect mid-size if the quality was there.
reliable, i don't think so
I bought my saturn LS2 in january of 2003, i love it at first but after a month of purchase, i started taking it to the dealer shop for repairs. it hasn't even been a year and it's been in the shop at least twice a month. i feel like i could of bought another car with the money i have spent on repairs. now it's hard to get rid of it. i am going to hondas or camry's the dependable cars. i would never in my life purchase any cars from this dealership who has screwed me twice and never ever buying another saturn in my life.
Not very exciting
We bought our Saturn LS2 loaded. It was a year end purchase, so we felt we got a good deal. The ride in the car is comfortable and quiet. On the freeway, the get-up-and-go is less than expected. The gas mileage was also less than the sticker indicated. The dealership is fantastic. Always there for us. The car is over-all nice, but is missing that special "something".
It's been a great car for me
With all of the negative reviews, I had to chime in. I bought this car new in 2000 and have yet to spend any money on repairs. The only scheduled maint. done has been regular oil changes. Brakes and tires have been replaced as needed. The clutch was replaced at 17,000 and 36,000 under warranty. It has run like a dream ever since, and I have over 176,000 miles on it now. I couldn't have asked for a more reliable car!
