Excellent Christmas Present
I bought my wife a Nissan Titan for Christmas 2003.... Awesome vehicle..the affordability and comfort are head and shoulders above my F150. Also the practical use of the truck bed is unmatched!
Awesome Truck
Traded in my 03 Chev Silverado for this Titan. Chev can't hold a candle to this truck. Smooth, powerful, quiet, features, all in Nissan's favor. Even got a good deal considering this is a no dicker truck at present. Fit and finish are a good or better than any import I've ever owned. Turning radius is excellent, adjustable pedals are a great feature for the shorter driver in the family. Bed is as long at the Chev with a smaller wheel wells in the bed. Still asked almost daily what I'm driving. Turns heads almost every where I go.

IT'S GREAT!!!
Nothing but satisfaction with my new Titan CC SE 4x4. Full of power, tons of neat features, & I draw looks everywhere I go.
Test drive it and you'll understand
It's time that Nissan put a full size truck on the market. Big 3 truck makers better watch out! Titan is here. This truck is powerful and thoughtful. Nissan sure put in a lot of thoughts and work on designing this new truck. It's hard to describe how great this truck is, go and test drive one, then you'll understand.
2004 Titan SE KingCab 4X4
Comfortable, powerful, properly executed full size pickup.. I only have one complaint. There is no way to turn off the traction control! 305 horsepower/379 ft/lb of torque and no smokey burnouts, even with VDC turned off. I just want those "HEMI" owners to smell a little smoke when my Titan is smokin' 'em!!
Rave review.
Wonderful truck; fun to drive. Handles everything I thorw at it, and I play hard.
titan is good
Had bad, ( soft rotors at new ) they fixed that. Transmission slipped at 37K, was some type of switch. The trans. from the beginning of owning it, sometimes when taking off, feels like you took off on a spot of ice, wheels slip for a moment. They don't know what it is. Also, at a light, it feels like someone bangs into you lightly, they say common.
IMPRESSED........SO FAR?
With a limited amount of mileage this is just my initial opion of the truck. Ask me again in six months.
my review
i've had my titan for two years and have over 40,000 miles on it with only minor problems with the brakes. i've towed my boat and hauled furniture and all sorts of scrape and garbage. it's the best truck i've owned.
Love the Power
I like the performance from the 5.6L engine. The ride is good for a truck that can tow over 9000 pounds. The kids love the rear seat with there own radio controls and DVD. The track system in the bed makes you wonder why no one came out with this before.
2004 Nissan Titan comments
Tough vehicle, I get lots of admirers. I think it has Ford, Chevy, and Toyota beat on the "macho" scale. This truck sucks down some gas! Had a problem with brakes which Nissan acknowledges with Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) NTB04-066. They did service to the truck but did not replace the rotors as the TSB recommends. Seems to be a temp fix which lasts about 4000 miles. Problem is vibration in steering wheel when pedal is depressed. I expect this problem to return every 4000 miles until they replace the rotors. The truck does stop fine and handles great. Lots of power and roomy cab.
Best 1/2 ton available today
I've had mine for about a year now and bought it after driving everything in its class. The power sold me...one test drive was all it took. It's been an excellent tow vehicle and has been trouble free.
sold
I LOVE DRIVING THIS TRUCK. I HAVE OWNED TEM ALL. FORD, CHEVY, DODGE. THIS IS A HOMERUN. I READ ALL THE REVIEWS AND CAN NOT BELIEVE SOME OF THE BAD ONES. THEY MUST BE FROM FORD AND DODGE DEALERS LOSING SALES.
80,000 And Still Love This Truck
Purchased the truck in 04 new and have had NO problem except the initial brake issue that Nissan took care of until a recently having problem with A/C control knob. A very minor first problem after 4 years and 80,000 miles. I can't imagine why Nissan is talking with Dodge to design the next generation Titan!! Except for MPG I would love to keep the truck for many years to come!
JUST DRIVE IT
THIS IS THE BEST TRUCK I HAVE EVER DRIVEN IS THIS CLASS!I HAVE DRIVEN THE NEW FORD 150 AND THIS TITAN IS THE BEST .FORGET ABOUT THE DODGE,CHEVY AND THE TUNDRA CANT COME CLOSE.THANKS NISSAN!!!!!
The Best Truck on the Road
This truck has power to pull a 36 ft trailer, and still do 70 miles per hour over a Major highway (hill)
titan
great power fun to drive like a car with power and size of a truck switched from an escalade dont miss it at all
First to buy in USA
The minute I first saw the new Titan I knew that Nissan was serious about competing in the large truck market. I was lucky enough to to be the first to test drive it. The moment I heard the engine start, I knew that I was going to take it home. Nissan did their homework and delivered on everything they said this truck would be. The Power is awesome, the Ride is exceptional, and the Roominess is amazing. I was a Loyal F-150 owner,. This truck changes everthing
rate it
This is the best truck i ever haved own. It is so confortable that my wife dont let me drive. She used the truck for everything. Thank you for desing this truck.
nissan titan is a sweet truck
my dad just bought the truck a little while ago and its awsome the first day we got it my dad had it up to a pretty high speed and we realy coudent tell its fast as any thing
POWER!
This truck has a lot more power than the new F-150. It's very responsive...zero to 60 in 6.9 seconds, need I say more! Either Nissan is doesn't know how to rate horsepower very well or Ford lied about having 300 hp. The Ford has a better interior, but the engine in this blows the Ford away. The bed system is great. I love the exhaust sound, tough.
Japan's Hemi
Mucho power out of an import truck, ver very fum to drive especially off road.
Goodbye F150
Sold my 97 F150. Loved it, great truck. Was on my way to get a 2004 and stopped in the Nissan dealer. Test drove the Titan and then the Ford. Drove home with a Titan. Oodles of torquey power. Handles like a sedan. Towing capacity, bed capacity, resale value, Its all there. Plus, it feels right. It doesnt feel as big as it is. Bottom line, functional and fun. Re: reliability, it is new so stay tuned
initial impressions
when i opened the door of the titan, i was immediatly impressed by the two tone leather interior & the colors chosen to blend together. on examining the exterior, i was impressed with the spray on bedliner & the plastic rub strips in the floor of the bed. very practical & useful. a minor note that i saw, was the crush zones on the front frame extentions. these appear to be serviceable, & if they are, then will be very useful in collision repairs. other trucks either fail to offer this feature, or only offer the entire front frame section, still requiring removal of the entire cab assembly for proper access for welding.
Comfortalble and rugged
Very rugged and spacios. Has comfortalble seating and the shocks are very durable for the easy feeling ride.
Best Truck I have ever owned!
The power in this truck is great. It takes off like no truck I have ever driven. The fit and finish have been excellent. It handles very sporty for a big truck. It is very comfortable and the ride is very good. Utility bed and VDC are only available on this truck. It is a great towing truck for a 1/2 ton.
Overpriced
I like my truck.. but being tall... it isn't made for tall people.... I also think that its way overpriced compared to similar options and packages that the F-150 offers.
Powerful truck!
I test drove the Ram 1500 with the HEMI and an Avalanche. The acceleration respose does not come close. It reminds me of my 1972 Monte Carlo.
It's a Blast
I don't really like American brand. I also have the Toyota (Seqouia)which I also like it but when I went to see the Tundra, it was too simple to me compared to the Titan. (Features wised) and eventhough the Titan has a much bigger engined, fuel consuption, both will about the same. Even my wife that really againts on having a truck like this one also.
overall experience thus far
bought my titan kc 4x4 this past december. although this is a new product for nissan, they have done their homework. this is one awsome vehicle. the power is incredable. when you step on the gas pedal, its acceleratration is unlike any truck ive ever driven,or any regular passenger car for that matter. although it has less than 800 miles on it,i think this truck has something to say to the big 3.i'm sure there will be some issues being its first year for this truck, but nissan has been building trucks a long, long time.
The Titan of Trucks
You must drive this truck for a little bit just to see how great it is.
Great Fill Size Truck
Truck is a blast to drive. Very fast, very smooth. I has planned to buy a Ford F-150, but the Titan was just better in so many ways, except price but that's just your basic "get what you pay for". Gets compliments all the time from people in parking lots as I am getting in or out.
awesome
This is the 1st pickup I have ever bought but I can't imagine what any other is like this truck is big fast and most important fun. Just buy it and see the looks you get when your driving but don't get the xe they let me use one until my se came in and its just as fast but the interior is plain. This thing handles curves great. just a great truck
100% Worth it.
When I wanted this truck my wifes first words were "It's ugly." but after driving it she never looked back. We were like the 2nd owners of a TITAN in the state and I have put it through it's paces. Awesome power and torque in a "You were right babe, it grows on you" style that was unique to the truck market. I have no complaints at all. It will haul almost anything and pulls almost like a diesel. When you need passing power there are plenty of horses in the corral just asking to be let out. Nowadays manufacturers lean towards a carlike ride.Want a car buy one. As soon as this ones paid for my wifes getting it and I'm Getting the 4wd crew cab.You can bet it ain't just for looks either.
le crew
this vehicle does great and it handles delivers, solid look and ride. can keep all tires pined to the road at full trottel. rear gate is heavy not cheap alot of room in cab.like the idear of swing back tool box to rear gate.alot of safty
it rocks!
after driving all of the crew cabs on the market, i chose the titan. finally, a japanese truck(actually, its from tennessee)that is big enough for the whole family. the motor is powerful, the transmission smooth and the interior is HUGE! plus, check out the way it looks. the ford is the only truck that comes close in styling, but the titan beats it hands down in performance and quality. ford, chevy and dodge-watch out!
First weeks with truck.
I like everything about the truck except the controls for the drivers seat. Everytime I enter the truck my leg hits the seat controls and adjusts it slightly.A think the controls could be a little lower to prevent that.
They want MSRP?
I want one of these trucks, but I'm not going to pay MSRP for it. The 2004 trucks are almost 1/3 of a year old already. The ride is VERY stiff, maybe because it was a SE model that I test drove. I think the exhaust is too loud for a 30- year-old plus driver. (Im forty-one) My plan is to wait, and buy the 2005 model in 8/2004. That is if the LE model drives smoother, and has a quieter exhaust system in 2005. I know it is "require that you own this vehicle in order to write a review", but no one has, as of yet. Please feel free to delete mine after someone does. I just would like to get other opinions of the truck, before my purchase next summer 2004.
Great truck very happy.............
Once you sit in this truck and drive it you will see how nice it is. I am a former three time chevy silverado owner and the titan is in a class above. Nissan has done their homework. It is the best half ton on the market even better then the new F150 which i drove and it felt under powered.
the best car EVER!!!
This car is the best. Anyone who wants a 4x4, stylish, comfertable, lovely car that is the BEST car in the world but the nissan titan!
Nissan Power
Powerful American built truck with a great head turning ratio.
I used to love my Ram
I had a 2002 Dodge crew cab, I stopped by just to look at a new truck design, all it took was a short trip, goodbye Dodge, even though the move cost me 1000's in deprication. This is the most fun truck I ever driven. It should come with a radar detector though as the quick accelleration could easily get you in serious trouble. Odd thing is my Dodge was made in Mexico, my Nissan is made in Miss. and the quality difference shows. Be ready to pay full sticker, there are no deals on these.
Great Truck, Except for the Brakes
Bought this last year for a work truck, wife liked it so much she started driving it and didn't give it up. It rides great, very comfortable and has plenty of power. The Rockford Fosgate sounds good, volume adjusts with speed, (dont know if the 30000 mile review guy knows this) The only problem has been the brakes. I have had it in once, at 6000 miles, but they are starting to go again. If Nissan can't figure it out I will switch to Brembos. The gas mileage could be better, I have a 65 mile round trip commute and 16 mpg doesn't cut it. (this is why I am driving the wife's car)A friend of mine has one as well, he switched to syn. oil and diff. exhaust and got 20 mpg, but it should be better
Purrs Like a Lion
My Nissan Titan purrs like a lion. Living in the mountains, and commuting to work, I need to feel that my daughter and I are safe and that I am driving a reliable vehicle. My Nissan is everything that I was looking for and more. It is attractive, comfortable, dependable, and safe in most weather conditiond. I am not unhappy with the gas consumption, either. I would recommend this truck to anyone who enjoys driving a powerful vehicle with style!
By by ford
Overall this truck is impressive. Very good off road. We use this truck in the oil & gas field and it is standing up better than any other truck i have used ( ford , dodge, gmc , chev ). The overall handling and power towing is great.
Car and Drivers #1
Car and Drivers #1 choice over the F- 150. It out performs the Hemi in almost all categories. And it has the most interior room. Not to mention the fact that it is the most innovative of the big 5.
best truck i ever owned
ever thing about this truck is great, the power is unparralled the gas mileage is good for the size and power. unbelivable room and comfort, the best truck i ever bought, my next truck will be a titan as well
Terrific Titan
I recently purchased a new Nissan Titan LE 4-wheel drive. It has more than lived up to my highest expectations. This Titan is so good it justs blows Ford, Chevy and Dodge out of the water. The ride and handling of the Titan is more like a fine sedan than a full sized truck. And the 305 hp engine seems much stronger in actual use. The 5 speed auto transmission is impressively smooth. The interior is well planned and has loads of space, but is not as plush as the new Ford Lariat. Nissan has definitely set a new standard in full sized 1/2 ton trucks with the Titan. Ford, Chevy and Dodge will have to run hard to catch up.
Test Drive this truck
This truck can comfortably seat 6 NFL linemen. With the tail gate down the bed is long enough to take a 4X8 with only a few inches sticking out. The factory sprayed in bed liner gives good foot traction even when wet. The Titan has incredible power. The transmission is smooth. It is difficult under normal circumstance to get the RPMs over 3000. My wife likes the heated bucket seats. I like the dual 4X4 modes. The low mode of 4WD gives incredible traction. Both axels have limited slip differentials. The ride is great. In short this is a first rate vehicle. If you are in the market for a pickup truck you owe it to yourself to test drive a Titan.
New Titan seems like a stong truck
This truck is the best thing in years that Nissan has done. I recently purchased this truck after comparing and test driving all of the 3 main big trucks and the Titan has all of them whipped. When driving it doesn't even fell like a full size truck, more like a really big car.I also have the offroad package and from what I hear it is a little more rough on the highway than without. I have been a Ford guy for quite a long time but I have to say the F-150 can't compete.
