Tons of power 5.6 v8 Hemi Killer
I have owned Dodge, Ford, and Chevy trucks and this Titan is the best truck I have owned to this day. Most powerful fun to drive vehicle I have ever had. Great for working or playing. Tows like a big dog and more interior room than my Dodge Ram Quadcab had. Very sporty truck.
Bought it for RV use
I love the truck. Lots of power to pull a good size trailer in the half ton class. I have also used it with a 8' slide-in camper that is over weight. It handles it well but needs overloads and a stonger frame to reduce flex. Performance problem is surging under decleration at around 3000 rpm loaded or unloaded, Cruise or manual. Overall mpg is 13 with a max of 17. Would like better of course. Sometimes the seat & mirror memory system act peculiar but shut down and start over and it comes up OK. When I lost my lug nut key, the dealerships (3) wouldn't remove or let me remove the locks from my other wheels without a charge even tho I paid for and ordered a replacement key. Bad policy.

redneckpapa`s new toy
most awesome truck i have ever been in, and i have been in a lot of domestics that can not come close to this beast! NISSAN hit a grandslam.
My Titan
Driving a Chevy silverado since 1997. Love the Chevy like a Rock. Then came along the Nissan Titan, weary at first new truck new problems. Kept reserching ,and asking others got nothing but great pro's with some con's. Had to test drive rode good, power no problem, can see all around no blind spots, put together right. Purchased, so lone Chevy there's a new truck in town called the TITAN!
Good truck but some problems
My Nissan Titan is a good looking truck with lots of power and plenty of room in the cab for 5 large adults. I have been generally pleased with the performance but have had some reliability issues. The first problem was with a shuddering caused by the front brakes. The dealership replaced the front brakes. The next thing that happened was the paint on the steering column started flecking away by the radio controls. Just a couple of months ago the AM portion of the radio failed and Nissan wouldn't replace it (the cost to replace the radio is over $1,000 since the radio is part of the CD).
I will buy another Titan
Having owned my Titan for a year and a half I have recentley been doing some research for a new vechicle. After looking at a number of candidates and test driving some, I have come to the same conclustion as before, the Titan is best. I looked closely at the Honda Rigdeline (for its carlike ride), Jeep Rubicon(for its off-road capabilities) and the standard domestic trucks. Although each of the above vechicles had strong points they also had weak areas which disqualified them for me. The Titan I rated at least an 8 in the lowest catogory in this review and in most cases 9 or 10. I now have 80,000 miles on it and it is still the finest truck I have ever driven.
This is an awsome truck
This truck is absolutely amazing! It is by far the nicest vehicle I have ever owned and I've bought new vehicles every year for the past 4 years. I've been a dedicated Ford guy and this Truck far and away beats the new F-150. I also bought a "04" XTerra with the World championship package for my Wife and we are now a dedicated Nissan Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love my titan
after owning a 1989 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 that I swore never to get rid of, even though I put in more money to maintain it as I did to purchase it, I moved to NH and decided that I needed a reliable vehicle to survive the elements. I now feel safer driving in the winter elements than I ever would have before and as an added bonus feel as if I am driving a luxury vehicle instead of a 4x4
Nissan hits the mark the first time out!
This truck is living up to the hype. After clocking over 300 miles in the first week the impression of quality craftsmanship is what I take from the Titan experience. Power is strong anywhere in the RPM range and the transmission is so smooth, the only way you can tell it is shifting is by the louder growl from the engine. Gas mileage through the first 300 miles was 13.32 mpg but I expect that to improve once the vehicle is broken in. Best advice I can give is that if you are in the market for a new truck, try them all out and choose what you like best which in many cases, if given the chance, will be the Titan.
What a sport truck
Have done my homework on buying a truck. For the money you can' t go wrong. The motor and 5 speed trans. are worth the money alone. It is so roomy inside, you can really fit anyone inside the front or the back seats. You will get a lot of looks and get into long talks with people at car washes. I live in Az and still had to get the Galaxy black. what a color. Great overall. I have the LE model and love it.
Titan Rocks!
Ive owned 4x4s for 25 years, both as daily transportation and for getting to the backwoods. The Titan gets the job done! Ive owned GM, Ford 4x4, Dodge, Jeep, and Nissan vehicles, and none of those compared with the Titan for quality of build and performance.
That thing got a Hemi? Nope, better.
You simply cannot buy more truck for the money. Ford and Chevy have Nissan on the interior niceties, but drivetrain, engine, and usability define the Nissan
2004 nissan titan le
the nissan titan is by far the best truck built today however, because of this there are a few kinks that have to be worked out but overall it is powerful, great looking and a thrill to drive.
Best Truck ON The Market
I have sold nissan's for five years. It took me awhile to come to grips on getting a payment, but I did it. This truck is worth every penny and more. Nissan has quality and horse power over the competition period... If you want gas mileage buy a sentra or civic. If you want a truck buy Nissan. I leased mine thru my company D&M Leasing and have a great payment and the perfect truck. Would recommend D&M and NIssan to anyone.
WOW!!!!!!!
WOW, if you are considering, stop considering and go out and get one. This truck is amazing, I have not had this much fun driving for a long time. THANKS Nissan for hitting a grandslam!!!!!!!!
Much better built than my 02 Ford F 150.
Awesome power and towing capability. It just seems like it is built better than my 2002 Ford F 150. I really like the 6 disc changer. I would recommend it to anyone.
Truck?
Dumped a Range Rover after it's leaving me stranded for the third time. The Nissan has been a real pleasure to drive. It is almost a shame to call it a truck. Smooth ride, excellent powerband, killer sound system. It pulls my boat and a full load in the bed without any problem.
Awesome Ride
I was a bit suprised with a foreign truck... It's sure bound to knock the sox off of some people.
the best truck
i think the titan is the best truck ive ever owned its cool looking it's a tuff truck and its powerful but it needs to come with a grill in the bottom of the front bumper. but its still a good truck.
Look out American Truck Manufacturers!
I've owned 3 GMC 1500 trucks which I've used for towing my horse trailer and have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of a true full size truck from a foreign automaker. The Nissan Titan has far surpassed my expectations. If you test drive the Titan, you'll want one too. I purchased my Titan from Nissan of Keene in NH which was a great experience. I would definitely recommend this dealership. I'm amazed that no other automaker has thought of the conveniences that are part of the Titan. This is an incredible truck with many great features that blows away its competition.
Great Truck Overall
I bought this truck used off of my father because my lease on my Mercedes was about over. I drove this truck when visiting him and I really loved it. I never considered myself a truck person, but now I don't know how I could live without one. I use it for all sorts of things. Home projects, carrying bikes, moving large items. The interior is nicely appointed and this truck is fast and powerful. I've out run respectable performance sedans entering the highway where two lanes go down to one with 4 people. This truck has the optional Big Tow package and 4WD. I've moved some heavy items with this truck without issue. Reliability has been good, except for a radiator leak at 30k miles.
Dreamed of Chevy but discovered Titan!!!
POWER, comfort, stability and more POWER! I have always said there was nothing like an American made truck and dreamed of a new Silverado, Sierra or Ram w/ Hemi until I test drove the Titan. Awesome truck! I owned a Ford F-150 but quality was poor. The standard features on a SE model alone are amazing but I added the utility bed package and the big tow package. Yeah some of you may say the HEMI 5.7 liter 16 valve has more horse power (345 to Titans 305) but it also has less torque (275 to Titans 379) and remember that this is the Titans STANDARD 5.6 , 32 valve engine. I purchased a Crew Cab SE 2WD Titan in January 2004 and love it.
Buy a Titan
Exceptional ride quality and workmanship. I've had almost no problems, mainly recalls for seat belts.
A Beast
Great vehicle, and fun to drive. Have not had a single problem with mine ( knock on wood) Can't miss with this one.
Fun to Drive, Hard to pay for!!
This truck is fun, fun, fun to drive. With the 305 HP motor, it makes you feel like you're in a Mustang the size of a tank. I have only had one problem so far. The hose from the AC condenser in the dash to the outside was defective and it caused water to leek in the truck on the pasanger side. It took several trips to the dealership and 6 weeks to resolve the problem (I think it was the dealership though). If you can afford it, buy one. FUN, FUN, FUN
What a Truck
This is the best truck I've ever owned. The engine and transmission are great. Most of the power is at the low end where you need it most (I use mine as a truck not as a hot rod). The cab is roomy, and the exterior is great. The utilitrac bed makes securing any load a breeze. I have overloaded this truck including 1200lb pallet in bed with 300lb toolbox plus other tools and the suspension did not bottom out, and the truck handled the load with no problems. If you are shopping for a full size truck you need to test drive this beast.
Great Truck
This truck is awesome better that the F150 and it has lots of power. Nissan did a awesome job. I got a SE with the tow package, DVD, and the soundsystem from Rockford Fosgate. The mirrors look great on the truck and sound from the system is great and they are a must have.
F-150 Eat my Dust
I finally talked mom into a truck. she hated the idea until we took a test drive. Now she drives it. My neighbors all work for Ford and tried to talk me out of it. But when I brought it home they all came running to check it out. They still think its below their F-150, until I pass them on the highway. We have 4 kids and we all ride comfortable. Better than our old mini van. And she sounds great. I like to drown out the kid thumping his base next to me in traffic with the exhaust and a little Metallica. The truck gets the looks and she always thanks them with a blink from her tail lights as she speeds out of site. I cant wait until vacation!
What a PAIN
Bought it new, after 3k miles brakes went out, dealer replaced 3 times. Diff seal leaked, rattles all over, key gets stuck in ignition, front window regulator went out, drive shaft rusted, oil pressure sensor went out, makes me wonder what happend to Nissan. I am so disappointed that I want to call get rid of this truck. I have a 90 300zx thats been more fun, and reliable then this truck, I will never buy another Nissan.
Save some time and read
I tested the F-150 & Tundra. I was going with the Tundra until I read about the Titan. Most room and best ride of all. Ample power, and handles very well. Before you buy the Ford, be sure to drive it up a hill.
my titan
I love my Titan, when buying my new truck i was at first interested in the f-series but to no avail I bought the Titan instead. the tian is much more bang for the buck
awsome truck
I've had this truck for almost a year. the ride is great. awsome power, great sound from exhaust. best looking truck. Already been in the dealer for new window switches, front brake dicks raplaced. Heat shield retightened, and nasty rattles coming from dash, driver and passenger doors, head rest,(which dealer has tried to fix with poor succes) Tail gate slides to right or left when opened.
Fantastic!!!!
A smooth ride with tons of power. Truck looks and feels great. Spacious and luxurious. You WILL be envied. Nissan did a great job with this truck
Worth the Wait
I had it Factory ordered. Took 4 months but it was worth the wait! Horsepower, all I have to say is WOW! Ofroad package sport utility package and tow package is a must! Absolutely love it!
Love the truck, hate the radio system
I love the truck. Have the 4 door version which provides me and my family plenty of room.
TITAN puts others to Shame (for 1 ton)
PERFORMANCE:This truck is so well put together it shames the domestic trucks Engine- Quick/responsive & better torque. transmition is a smooth 5speed More interior room than others. SAFETY:Frame-4 sided box construction stronger than the open 3 sided kind the others use. The ONLY truck to offer side impact airbags, & head curtain airbags for front/rear Bed Rails are great & work well, Outside storage is handy Displays/controls are large & easy to use. We should have been doing all these things years ago.
NEW OWNER
VERY GOOD TRUCK. I LIKE IT.
My 04 Titan has been a good truck
I really like this truck. At 40,000 miles it drives like new, no problems. I like how the rear doors open out of the way. Tie down system in the bed is very handy.
Titan
Awesome truck, more power than any other truck ive ever driven.
Early Review
King SE 4x4 no bells and whistles. Only 1000 miles - so far everything I'd hoped. $ was comparable to even the heavily-incentived Dodge Ram. HUGE upgrade from from my mid-90's GM. Comfortable, powerful - truly 305 horses lurking under the hood! Home is an "American truck" town, so I get a lot of "you bought a Japanese truck!?" Then they look closer, and I get "so what did this cost?", and even one, "do you still have the brochures?" Brand new, but after ten years of transmission problems, a great feeling to climb in and not worry about ANYTHING. FEELS well-built and solid. Getting 13-14mpg so far around town - only slightly worse than my old 5.0L got.
overrated
Everything started great, the Titan was smooth and has plenty of power. after a month on the road the brakes started to shimmy and the service department can't seem to figure out the problem. Also, on four separated occasions the truck would not start. The service department is having problems finding this one as well. Some sort of intermittant problem. Based on my first two months I would not recommend the Titan.
Gotta Love the Truck
After Having my Titan for a while I will tell you this. If you ever get tired of it,( not likely) just go and get yourself a cold air intake. Nismo make the best one for that pickup. And it'll save you a hundred bucks or so. Easy install, and then you will rejuvenate that titan and you will remember how much fun it is to drive
DONT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT
THE RIDE IS EXCELLENT, THE HANDLING IS GREAT THE INTERIOR DESIGN IS SOME WHAT UNDESIREABLE. I PURCHASED IT FOR THE FUEL ECONOMY, AND I GET THAT. MY BIGGEST FEAR IS THAT I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT WITH THIS TIN CAN. OTHERWISE ITS A (B) ON A SCALE FROM A+ TO D RATING
well worth the wait
had a dodge bad rear end had a ford 9 sets of breaks in the first year drive a new chevy at work 11000 mile had front end replaced doors falling apart tranz. shifts bad. got the titan 1/31/04 did alot of reserch on truck could not find anything that I din't like. well worth the wait. great power smooth ride plenty of room. It also runs good with a HD road king in the bed. getting ready to test it out towing a 28ft traler wit fore cycles.
almost perfect
first of all: there's no rear axle electronic locking differential until April 2004. not even a limited slip differential. we're getting 8 city/15 hwy mpg, first 500 miles with the off road and big tow packages (3.36 final drive) easy to get stuck on deep (1') snow, but then what 4x4x isn't, i guess. truck lock is always locked..annoying. ca not anser the Reliability question yet...
NO MORE TITAN
Nissan had the vehicle more the last 6 months than I did. Had to replace engine at 26,000. Never did get it to run right. Just returned to dealer and traded for something else. Worst service I have ever seen form a dealer ship. Will never own another Titan.
BLOWN TRANSMISSION on Test Drive
Test Drives, what are they for? Seeing what your future puppy can do. I was driving the new Titan as anyone would on a test drive when the rear end chirped and the tranny downshifted extremely roughly. This was followed by a floaty rpm range with no forward movement. After trying to go around the block i realized we were stuck in 3rd (no it wasn't the manual gear lock on the shifter). After a few mintes the check engine light was glowing.
best buy ever
Never owned a pick up prior to this truck, I have put 140,000 miles on this truck, with no issues, , except original brake problem that Nissan addressed and fixed. Low low maintenance, still have original battery in Arizona after 4 years I hope they come out with a 6 foot bed in the 4 door, and a diesel. Best truck money can buy... Sorry Detroit maybe u guys will learn some day to use better longer lasting components
Nissan LE 4X4 4 door
Most people rate their trucks a few days after they buy them. I have had this truck for several months and overall it is a very poorly manufactured/designed vehicle. Rattles everywhere, windows do not come down when it gets cold, door won't close when it gets cold. Engine noise at idle. I have had almost all manufacturers of truck and this is the worst by far. Not all Japanese cars are the same. Toyota, Honda are great, Nissan is not.
Nissan Titanic
Bought this truck 2 months later while driving to Missouri hit luggage off someones truck.RIPPED OUT THE DRIVE TRAIN,$2400 damage! Then while driving in FL got stuck in mud a FORD RANGER pulled me out. How EMBARRASSING is that? Plus horrible resale value 5 month old truck paid 27 now worth 18??? Don't get me wrong it tows great and is a great truck when not in the shop with parts on back order.
