2024 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum

I just bought the Platinum trim in Gun Metal Gray 2 weeks ago. So far I absolutely love it overall with a few minor complaints. The Great: -Amazing interior. The seats are incredibly comfortable, the leather is extremely high quality and the seats raise and recline extremely well. The Cabin is spacious, the tech options are phenomenal. The third row is roomier than most 3 Row mid siz SUV's and the ability to push a button and raise the second row seats with a car seat still attached is great for kids. The all weather matts are very durable and the removable cup holders for captains chair come in handy. There is also plenty of cargo room with 3rd row down and the under seat storage in trunk area is extremely roomy. -Engine- It is surprisingly fast, especially in sport mode. Absolutely zero issues cruising at 75 on the highway.Snow mode handles really well in a blizzard as we recently drove through a few days ago. Eco mode is also not that noticeable of a change.I feel that the car has ample power and with my wife, two kids, gear and a dog in the vehicle it performed fine and did not feel sluggish. Style- it is by far the nicest looking of the 3 row mid size SUV's and you can tell Nissan put a lot into the design. It also has a more masculine look than some of the competitors, which is nice if you are a male driver. But a female driver could also own and feel totally at home. -The safety features- Loaded with VDC, self drive etc. And they work very well. Great cameras too. -Tech- The digital display on both the dash, the heads up and the center console are awesome. Occasional issues connecting to bluetooth with slight lag sometimes, but I have yet to drive a car yet that hasn't had those issues. The OK: -Bose system- I find it to be very loud and incredibly smooth. However, I understand the complaints about the power issues. My understanding is that some of this is due to the fact that Nissan had to remove the subwoofer in the back to make way for more storage. As an audophile I just crank the bass up fully on settings and it is TOTALLY ample power. I can't imagine this stereo completely maxed, it would be too loud to listen to. But as everyone has said, I would call it OK for Bose, but totally fine and enjoyable and able to be cranked and retain clarity. -1st gear- like some other users, I find it a little sluggish when going from first gear to second as if there is a little hesitancy. The Bad: My auto stop start has never really worked properly. It kicks off and on when it wants to. It's not a huge thing for me because I don't really like auto stop/start. But in a new car I would want this to work properly. Bringing it into dealership friday and will keep updated. OVERALL- if not for that one issue this car would have a 5/5 for me. It really is an amazingly pleasant vehicle and I look forward to driving it.

Looks and Rides Awesome

We just took our new Pathfinder on a holiday trip thru the Virginia/West Virginia mountains. We have rented several of it's competitors for this same trip in the past. This was by far the most enjoyable experience with it's features compared to the others. Plenty of power and the handling and ride comfort were superb. The driver assist features work great, it does a good job holding the center of the lane while in cruise control mode. The 9 speed transmission is far better than the CVT it replaced and operates smoothly. The heated electric seats were very comfortable, no need for pain relievers on a long trip. Our rear passengers loved the reclining heated second row captain chairs and the rear HVAC controls. With the 3rd row folded down, we had plenty of luggage storage for all 4 of us. We have the SL premium package and are happy with the upgrade except for the Bose sound system. It sucks compared to our 09 Murano Bose system, I'm disappointed in that. We purchased the red/black premium paint combo, with the Blackout option and are having the bumpers painted black. We get many compliments.

24 Plat 4WD - Good space, comfort, handling & MPG

Update: Dec. 2024 we are now at 10K miles and still no issues, would definitely buy again! Has been a great vehicle around city and on 7+hour drives. Great MPG on Hwy with cruise control on (even at over 70 mph). Tight turning radius has come in handy as well. Only con is I wish Nissan and other car manufacturers would give more permanent control to driver/owner over feature settings so that I control how they behave and the settings need to save until I decide to change them back (e.g. auto engine stop/start should not default to on every time vehicle restarts, seat belt chime reminder for 2 minutes just because I have a package in front passenger seat, should disable auto rear brake assist automatically if in Tow mode with trailer plugged in, should have feature to set a GPS based exception to rear brake emergency assist for owners with steep driveways or parking garages, etc.) Having more control would bring the vehicle from an 8.5 rating to a 10 rating. Based on owner comments in current generation Pathfinder forums, I do expect to probably need to replace both the OEM tires and break pads at around 18K-25K miles... but once I upgrade the original tires and brake pads, then those items should last much longer than the versions from the factory. Owners of other brand, new cars, are also reporting similar low mileage out of factory tires as well. Original: So far we have had zero issues and no regrets. After 8 months of research and test drives, in Nov. '23, I traded out of a 2017 Murano Platinum with 56K miles that was an awesome vehicle and purchased a White '24 Pathfinder Platinum 4WD with chestnut interior, blackout package and second row bench seat. I went with '24 year model knowing that some of the bugs from the '22 redesign had been solved for at the plant and knowing that other some other issues had also been figured out and Dealer Service would now be able to handle them better under warranty. We have 5,600 miles on it so far including multiple 7 hour 1 way road trips and have towed my SXS buggy many times (deer camp is a 4 hour drive into hill country and the last 6 miles are gravel/clay roads). A few weeks ago we split folded the second row seats and took 3 adults and 5 large suitcases to the airport. This weekend we made a trip to the plant nursery, folded the second row flat and brought home a load of 18 bags of soil and nine 5 gallon plants. We were able to close the tailgate normally. My extended family and friends constantly remark about how nice the vehicle looks and how comfortable it is to ride in. We keep the third row flat for cargo space as it's best for small kids or less than an hour for adults. We have had at least 1 Nissan in the family for over 14 years now and all of the models have been very reliable, great value in terms of features for the price and fun to drive.

I purchased a 2024 Nissan in November of 2023. I have about 14,500 miles as I have made some long out of state trips. Initially the vehicle did really well, hauling 5 people plus luggage out of state. After 5,000 miles I started noticing all kinds of weird sounds while driving. The vehicle makes popping or clicking sounds. The drivers ac doesn’t blow cold air unless it’s set to like 70° or colder. If the thermostat is set to 77° the passenger side still blows cold. Big issues with the thermostat and actual temperature. Took to the dealership 3 times for the same issues and they find no issues. The crash alert light also comes on a lot. Very finicky. Sometimes may be bugs, other times no known reason. I do not like the auto idle stop, when approaching a stop sign, your car nearly stahls in that transition. The feature won’t stay off unless you press the button every time you get in and out of the car. The transmission is also very sluggish. Gas mileage has been great. A lot of the features are also good, lane assist, automatic wipers, apple play.

Buyers concern

My 2024 pathfinder sl with premium package looks and feels as good as our Lexus gx ever did and better. Has as many options Lexus didn’t have and sunroof is huge. We only have had it 3 weeks and put 300 miles on it. After reading reviews I’ve been very skeptical on the electronics that everyone is complaining about but time will tell. I have read about all the old pathfinders lasting 300000 miles and more. I don’t keep cars more than 4 years at max so hopefully this goes that far with no issues. I have always been a Lexus fan but the style really blows Lexus away in looks, luxury and ride. We’ll see in a couple years if I go back to Lexus. Back in the 70’s all people heard about was how reliable Datsun/Nissan was. Don’t know where they changed and why they stopped caring about customers happiness but seems like most companies today don’t care about customer satisfaction except Amazon. You would think other companies would follow his lead and get and retain customers thru happiness but that’s not the case. I’ll hope for 5he best.

The pathfinder is the perfect family car. The features are unbeatable and the safety rating is a huge plus. There is ample room in this SUV and it is a very quiet ride. I wish there was a turbo option for the V6 is powerful but I enjoy a “get up and go” option, although sport mode does do that, I don’t like to drive in that mode all the time just for gas saving purposes.

Terrible quality. My 2024 SL model has been in the shop for Engine mount replacement due to excessive vibration at 6,300mile. It just had vibration again. The dealer said the cooling fans the cause of the vibration is the cooling fans, car has 8,300 miles and 8 months since I bought it brand new in Oct 2023. Car still has vibration at stop/idle after I left the dealer a about 2 miles. I took it right back and the dealer could not find anything wrong (what they said). Car still has vibration especially in reverse. Now I am stuck with this vehicle. I am looking to trade for other brand. Most regret decision I made when purchasing Nissan. Very disappointed. it has no option for zero star so I have to pick 1 star. It is not even worth 1 star rating.

Disappointed and Frustrated with My Pathfinder Pur

I purchased a 2024 SL Pathfinder with high hopes, only for it to quickly turn into a nightmare. Within just a week of driving the car, I experienced a catastrophic transmission failure. Naturally, I contacted the company’s customer service, hoping for a swift resolution. To my dismay, they denied my claim for a refund or even a replacement vehicle. I was shocked by the lack of empathy and support. To make matters worse, when I learned that the necessary parts for the repair were on backorder with no estimated time of arrival, I was left without a car for months. This left me in a deeply inconvenient and distressing situation, unable to rely on the vehicle I had purchased in good faith. The worst part came when I reached out to consumer relations for help. Instead of offering a meaningful solution, they suggested I hire a lawyer. It’s appalling that the company would rather engage lawyers to defend their failure to provide a reliable product, rather than focus on making a car that works and supporting their customers properly. It feels like the company is more interested in finding ways to avoid responsibility than in providing quality service and products. They have effectively taken my savings, and I have nothing to show for it but a car that's not working, no support, and endless frustration. I strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a Pathfinder. My experience has been nothing short of a scam. If you want to buy a car that you can actually rely on, look elsewhere. The company’s customer service is subpar, and their focus seems to be on defending themselves legally rather than making things right for the customer.

Bought Pathfinder Platinum new 2024 in 1/2024; in 6/2024, flywheel in transmission came loose, leaving me stranded 250 miles from home - car was at local dealer for 4 weeks to get fixed - Nissan owes me over $3500 for rental cars and towing, still has not paid me as of 10/31/2024 - their warranty claims process is a joke - delay, delay, delay -

2024 Pathfinder Platinum review

I honestly don’t know where to start here as I have a lot to say. I downgraded from an $80k Yukon to the Pathfinder Platinum, at first this appeared to be a good car to downsize to, I am sadly regretting this purchase. Bought brand new in November 2023, but this is a 2024 model, and now have about 2k on the odometer. The night I took delivery the warning light for low washer fluid went on, even though there was fluid, the sensor had to be replaced by the dealer. Then the automated steering wheel and drivers seat for egress and ingress went out, the entire steering column had to be replaced. The Bose system is disappointing and I have to crank it up to at least half volume to hear decent bass, and it is overall not impressive for the top tier system in the Pathfinder, sounds mediocre and average. The drive is peculiar, there is a delay when you hard accelerate, as if the car takes some time to think before responding, which is super frustrating when you want to pass or accelerate fast. I have also noticed hard downshifts when I brake, such as a traffic light, it’s like the car is still wanting to move when I am approaching a full stop and it jerks forward. Of course the dealer could not replicate when they had it at the service department. Went on a recent road trip for the holidays with 2 adults, 3 children, and some luggage, the car struggled to maintain 80mph, it was disappointing and kept gear hunting and downshifted a lot. The V6 felt severely underpowered, could not imagine even having more adults or even towing something, honestly felt like the car was at its threshold and would break down if I tried to go faster. I see mixed reviews here and I agree with those reviews who are similar to mine, and also wonder how some here love this car…makes me wonder if in fact we are talking about the same car?? Perhaps I have a lemon, maybe my standard was too high and expected too much from this little SUV? I honestly can’t wait to trade this in, sadly with depreciation I’ll surely take a huge hit as I have also read the Pathfinder has a horrible resale value, and sadly have to wait to count down when it’s financially feasible to get rid of this! My advice, think twice before considering this car.

I was SO looking forward to the 2024 Pathfinder. It rides really nice, but the electronics are a NIGHTMARE and work so intermittently that I tend to just not use them. This was the 7th Nissan I have purchased and will absolutely be my last. It has been a complete letdown.

Transmission Issues

Vehicle will not engage when placed in drive, shifted to reverse and still would not move. Horrible clanking noise when shifting in this condition. Transmission is not engaging even though gear shift lever indicates that it is in drive or reverse. Killed engine and restarted several times before this changed and things began to work again. Has been to dealer 3 times for this problem and they cannot help. This happens about every two to three months and they say they cannot do anything until they can replicate the issue. I would never ever recommend buying a Nissan Pathfinder as it has been a royal pain ever since I purchased it.

Quick steering and 360 camera makes tight spots easy to deal with. Handles well, quiet, but maybe a bit under powered in hilly areas. MPG is a bit disappointing. Electronics work well and everything seems automatic.

Safest SUV

It is the safest SUV on the market with the added bonus of a normal automatic transmission ( no more CVT). Nissan dealers are more flexible as this is still a seller's market. The MPG is normal for this category. Safety matters more than re-sale value or even reliability to us so we went ahead. Buying a car is extremely subjective but I thought it's more aesthetically pleasing upon comparison with Telluride, Palisade, Sorento , Highlander and the 4 Runner. The safety of this SUV is way higher than the mid-sized Toyotas of the same category. We hope to keep it indefinitely

Great Car with minor issues

I've got the 2023 model, top trim, I like the ride it's very comfortable, very responsive, the V6 is doing so good and sounds amazing, the interior is very practical, although people are looking for more tech and new features (which we barley use), this car has everything on the right place, the ergonomics are highly configured, the safety features work well, as a family car it does the job perfectly, overall it looks great and everyone in my family really loves it. What I don't like is some very minor issues, that rarely happening like the side mirrors take a few hits to open, the wireless charging sometimes doesn't work, rather than that everything works well.

2024 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 6cyl 9A)

I bought a 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek , drove it almost 10k and traded it for a New 2024 Rock Creek. Got a deal , still driving the 24 , 10k on this one now. Bottom Line - Hard to Beat. I am in the Car Biz , have driven almost everything , had two Suburbans , and a Tahoe just before the 23 Rock Creek. Figured coming out of those Chevys I would be unhappy with whatever I drove., Well the Rock Creek , fit the bill. As soon as you open the door , the high threshhold makes it for easy entry , theleg room is the best in this class , the head room is 9 inches above my hat. Its quiet , very impressed how quiet. It handles as it should , sturdy ride and steering. The Rock Creek seats are made of tough material , and the floor mats all around keep it clean and dry. The gas mileage is not bad , low 20s on the highway , close to 20 around town. V6 is responsive. The second row is comfy with plenty of room , center consule with cup holders and storage , rear air , very nice. The third row is fine , serves its purpose , easy to store , mine is down most of the time. I have a plastic cover over the back area which is great keeping it clean and dry. The tow package tows up to 6500lbs , works great with my bike trailer. The interaction between Nissan and the customer is easy , with the app , updates tire pressure etc... which keeps you in the loop. The only thing that annoys me , It does have a slight hesitation at times when you start to go , its there , not a big deal , owners know about this , other than that , its a nice ride , people that ride in it compliment its comfort and all around quietness. Go buy one

Unethical/predatory service policy

Dan, 01/17/2024

We have 34k miles on our Pathfinder Platinum. Aside from the electrical issues that others have reported (occasional need to reboot the car 🙄), its worked really well for us. We recently got >2 feet of snow and then ice etc. The AWD was surefooted and reliable. In fact, I’d give this car 4 stars except for the following, which is unethical. I’m currently selling the car at a $10k loss because I will not work with unethical companies. The issue is that all servicing including new brakes/rotors must be performed at a dealership for this Make/model, which is concealed by Nissan. This creates a monopoly and resulting price gouging ($550 rotors and pads on one axle?) If you’re familiar with modern car maintenance, you know you need a scanner such as a SnapOn Zeus. And then you need to subscribe to the OEM to get their codes. My local garage had both of these, but the Pathfinder codes are not shared thus even the most basic work cannot be done even by a qualified mechanic. I worked with my local mechanic and his SnapOn rep on this over 4 weeks to figure this out. Lied to by the dealership and corp hotline, all of whom said it was possible, only to admit that it wasnt after we confirmed that it was not possible. Save yourself the hassle. I’m actually in a state of shock that I spent $55k on a car and neither Nissan nor the dealer will make this right after multiple polite but insistent calls

Quality/Fit-and-finish Issues

JP, 02/05/2025
2024 Nissan Pathfinder SV 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 6cyl 9A)

The fit-and-finish quality on this car reminds me of an American car in the 1980s. It has rattles, including one that is right by my head when I am driving. The fan motor is extra loud at high speeds (noticeably worse than other vehicles). It has less than 5000 miles, and I already hate driving it because of this - it's just so frustrating. I would say that he electronics and features are one generation behind my Toyota Rav4 that is three years older. Wired Carplay works, so that is nice to have. The remote start and other features in the app would be kind of cool if they worked. I have the SV, and I really like the analog gauges. The digital driver's display is pretty useless. If you do scroll through to a screen that you like, it doesn't save, so you have to do it again the next time you drive. I don't usually go to the effort, so the useless default display is always there. It does ride nicely. It is smooth but not too soft. It is fairly responsive for its size, and gives you a feel for the road. It has adequate power and accelerates well. If something wasn't constantly rattling in my ear, I might enjoy driving it. The transmission shifts at odd times and too often - it could actually use a couple less gears. This is easy to get used to, though. I have found that it shifts much more smoothly on eco, so I use that when I have passengers. On a trip I can get over 400 miles from a tank of gas. The size is perfect - you can fit a lot inside. I can even fit my kayak completely inside and close the hatch if I am alone and fold all the seats down. It's nice to have that much space. In addition, I think it looks nicer than many competitors. Despite the upsides, I regret buying this thing every time I drive it. It was a huge mistake that I am constantly reminded of. The rattles and loud fan are too much to overcome by turning up the radio. They just make it feel like a proverbial "piece of junk."

2024 Nissan Pathfinder platinum..a comfortable and reasonably quiet Suv. Decent quality inside..quiet and responsive engine..It has the optional white tri-coat paint.. poor quaity for a near $60k Suv.. fit and finish is surprising in this day and age of robotics. Orange peel finish paint.. uneven panel match.. pathetic.. and they tout a strong customer satisfaction policy.. well.. thats all BS.

Purchased April 20.24,like the looks, size including cargo storage area. We just rolled over 18,000miles problem free. Liked the sl model for leather seats, having dogs. WE would buy it again. We get a lot of looks also.

Frustrating to have my new car parked in the drive

Sadly my 2024 pathfinder has had lots of problems so far. Started with the driver side seat warmer, windows motor and mother board from the screen. That was replaced and fixed when I had the time to leave my car in the dealership. Sadly I didn't think about the distance from my hometown and the inconvenience that this car will be. I have to go back to fix the seat belt sensors, other window and now we had to replace, from our pockets, the battery (2 times ) and the tires and they were close to illegal to drive at less than 20,000kg Now we are trying to figure a date to bring it to thw dealership and leave for at least a week for them to find and hopefully fix the problem that is going on with something electrical as my car can not stay charged. Something is draining the battery. The local mechanic can't fix it and if they could it would be super expensive. So there i have a 2024 car seating on the driveway while i have to struggle to share the car with my husband and still pay insurance. Figure time off of work, $$for gas and accommodation to take the car 10 hours away from where I live. Definitely my last nissan as the customer service over the phone is very poor too.

I got my 2024 Nissan Pathfinder platinum edition about three or four months ago and so far I’m loving it. The interior is upscale and beautiful and functions are clear and helpful. I really like the room and the layout of the seating I also really enjoy the power in sport mode. It’s very responsive. It does not get great mileage in the city. I’m getting about 19 to 20 on the highway anywhere from 26 to 30 I love the way this car looks. It’s modern but also manly since I have the platinum edition I have basically every option I really like the auto windshield wipers and headlights that dim automatically. We recently had a big snowstorm here and my all-wheel-drive Pathfinder went through it with no issues at all also like the slightly heavier than usual steering, although you don’t feel particularly connected to the road like you would in an Audi or BMW there is a nice driving experience to be found especially in sport mode. I wish I could permanently disable the auto stop start, but it does have a convenient button that you can just tap to turn off this system but that auto stop start system does run just fine. The heating and cooling systems work great although the fan is noisier than I would prefer. The seats are comfortable and I like that you set up fairly high. I did expect the Bose sound system to sound better than it does, but it still sounds good. I think the issue is the fact that the front speakers are more aimed at the windshield. This causes an unusual effect but can be fixed by Transferring some of the sound to the rear speakers. I think Nissan Pathfinder is overlooked because of the prior iterations had that terrible CVT . This version does not have the CVT yet as a nine speed transmission that’s so far has worked fine. I have driven the Highlander and the four Runner and the Pathfinder falls in between those two and ride. The four Runner was unpleasant and the Highlander was too soft. Pathfinder is kind of in the middle and I like that. Again, I think this car is overlooked and is better than the reviews. Say that it is. I’ll update this review going forward but so far it’s everything I want it to be

I had many Nissan cars & SUVs with no, to minor issues or recalls. 24 hours are not enough to provide an honest review. I am falling in love with that SUV so far.

Pros: - good comfortable ride - quite cabin - good engine/ transmission coupling - gas milage is in accordance with manual cons: lock of some options on base S-model, such as adjustable passenger seat, no front parking assistance sensors, No wireless CarPlay, no adaptive cruse control; downshifting is slow which makes me break all the time in stop and go traffic
