Solid as Rock
I like this car! I had a 1997 Honda Accord and totaled it in a accident, I had a deal on that car, and it was Manual, so it's why I took it. It has 375 000km, its so much for a car... but it's solid as rock. Only ''normal'' think to change, O2 sensors and brakes... A great Car!!

Has been a great car. Repairs have been minimal and spread out over time -- clutch, structs, starter, water pump, radiator. Some I did myself, other I took to a good mechanic. not bad for 20 years. Still passes CA smog and mileage is 20/25 on regular unleaded, same as 20 years ago. Mine is a 5-speed and is getting hard to shift and getting to be an issue in stop and go driving.

Totalled yet still drives perfect
I bought this car from my dad 3 yrs ago and it only had about 70k miles. About a year later I was involved in a front end accident (not my fault) and the car was deemed totaled by the insurance company. They gave me a check for more than I bought the car, I turned around and bought the car back from the insurance company for $700, drove it off the lot and to this day I have not fixed it. All I do is oil change it every 4 mos or so, change tires and brakes, and drive drive drive. It's at over 115k miles now and still drives amazing!! Maxima's are a beast!
Love my Maxima!
I purchased my 1996 Maxima GXE used in 2000 with 80,000 miles. Just recently crashed due to snowy weather with 226,000 miles on it. She would have kept going, an awesome car! I have been strict with maintenance through my local Nissan dealer from the start. Oil changes through 30K mile check-ups. I just replaced the exhaust two days before the accident due to rust and a small hole starting. Biggest expense I would say was to replace the oxygen sensors. No problems with the engine or transmission, still going strong till the day she died. Only things I would have liked to see improve would be the interior quality, the drivers side carpet wore out quickly. Good and long-lasting car.
Still crazy after all these years!
Ordered from factory for(rare) 5 speed. (Replaced my 1988 Legend 5 speed.) Reliability has been rock solid. Finally put front brakes at 120k, still has original clutch! Only mechanical problem has been 'check engine light' issue--common to this model. Still drives like it's brand new. Guess that's why I'm still crazy about it...
