Economical car that drives/corners well. Fast pick up, good turn radius. Sporty design for a sedan. Expensive parts wore out sooner than expected for amount of wear and tear on engine. Comfortable interior. Good value for all extra features, cruise control, automatic windows/locks, sunroof, a/c

Loved my car! I've had my Tracer Trio for 4 years but now have to say goodbye. It's at 134,000 miles and has been having more problems than I can afford to deal with. But through it all I have really enjoyed this car! It gets great gas mileage - 35mpg. Super fast giddy-up! It's comfortable and not bad looking. I wish I could afford to fix & keep it! 2 months ago I bought a 2003 Kia Spectra because it's problem free & almost new but like the Mercury so much better!

1993 Mercury Tracer

I had good experience with this car until about two years or 22,000 mile ago. This is a very inexpensive car up to about 80,000 miles. Then you need to unload this car because many problems will arise. My major issue now is that the transmission began failing about a year ago (would not shift to overdrive). Now the problems are worst. I couldn't get $50 for this car now.

Reliable after 7 years

I've had my '95 Tracer (Trio version) for almost seven years and three problems - the a/c compressor broke, but during the warranty period, so Ford fixed it. It had a vacuum leak just this year, which wasn't a major expense to fix. The parking break broke - you can engage it, but it won't dis-engage. No rust, no broken or lose parts. the interior has held up very well. The seats don't look worn. It has been a reliable car, considering it's a Ford.

A good reliable car. You will be surprised how much stuff you can fit in this car. The gas milage is not as good as on other small models... 26 MPG for mixed driving; No more than 28 on highway. The automatic seatbelts are somewhat annoying.
