Excellent car for the money
My 2000 626 LX is coming up on 90,000 trouble free miles. All I have ever done is normal maintenance. Although some more horsepower might be nice, I like the great gas mileage, excellent handling, and excellent reliability. It is a fun car to drive. This was my first Mazda and I have already bought a 2nd Mazda. Great Car!
3-Daughters trhough college and now it's dads.....
I bought this car off the lot with 16 miles and new for my oldest daughter as transportation for college. Fantastic price and no worries about buying a used car. After passing through three daughters at college and 17 years later; they passed it back to me as I bought the third and last a new car at graduation. Now it's mine and only around 276,000 miles on it. I'm just happy to have a new car, the one I was driving had approximately 354,000 miles on it, and no more tuition payments. The maintenance costs on the car were very reasonable with major replacements; transmission rebuild, timing chain, brakes, muffler, and other expected items with the mileage being normal. Thank you Mazda - great car.

wouldn't buy again
I purchased my 626 3 years ago and it has been a reliable car. The only mechanical problem was last summer when the air conditioner failed. The biggest problem with the car is the road noise. It comes from underneath (we live on a dirt road) and the windows and doors let in too much noise. I've also noticed that the 626 doesn't seem to hold its value and I'm a little worried about trading it off next year.
Very Happy!!!!!!!
I bought this car from my Boss. who had it only 2-months. His wife just got a company car, and with there other car, and Van, one had to go. It is loaded with all, with 5-speed and all the bells etc.I have 35,000 on it and it has been trouble free. It still surprises me with the power it has at just 170 horses. Fine for me.
Needs VROOM VROOM
I bought my 626 4-cyl auto. a year old and 14K on the odometer. It has been a great car! This is a superb highway car and handled an Ohio winter on all- season radials with no problems. The steering feel on this car is simply outstanding. You just point the car where you want to go and it goes! Overall, I would buy this car again in a heartbeat!
