BEWARE of the large brakes on the F-Sport model. I bought my 2014 in August 2014 and with only 2K miles, the brakes are driving me nuts. Lexus is aware, as my car is on version three of the brake pads, and these dont work either. "There is a price to pay to have this much performance" Hogwash! That's PC for we can't fix them. Driver interface with the car via the mouse is circa 1995, very clunky and not intuitive. Love the ride, but she's underpowered. Would NOT buy this one again....and I love Lexus!!

I came out of a 2001 LS430 and after testing a 2012 I felt I really should try a 2014 LS460 as recommended online on the lexus owners site. It was the right thing to do: It handles very nicely (no its is not a sports car but unless you like to drive on the limit often it fits the bill). Against the 2001 which is boaty, this is just lovely. Fuel consumption is not bad but not great neither - even if you drive in ECO setting. Flip side.....you drive a 4.6L V8 with 380 horses - you want them to run they need to eat. The comfort setting is super smooth and unless you press the accelerator, its very quiet. The seats are divine and supportive and very comfortable (I am 6'6"). The steering wheel gets close but given my built (living on stilts) it would have been nice to see it move out a bit further. When you press the accelerator IT GOES and that is good enough for anyone who actually is buying one. The other thing is the built quality, which is tremendous. Again Lexus continues to provide car that you can buy used and does not require you to have bottomless pockets to repair, unlike its competitors (had a S500 1991-1999 gen which was bullitt proof - now I would not touch one again). Reliability is key for many buyers/drivers, strangely (is it? :( ) most manufacturers make theirs cars less so. I had read some negative feedback on the use of the mouse to manipulate the screen. It works just fine, all you have to do is put in a little effort to get used to it.

AWD developed a major leak at 40K miles

It was in warranty and I received a loaner of course. But they had to remove the entire engine and transmission. This is the 11th Lexus I've owned and loved everyone of them. But honestly it has me wondering if I should dump it.

We purchased this car new in Jan 2015 and have put since then 41000 miles. It is a gorgeous car, very solid, reliable, excellent gas mileage (21 mpg average). One thing is jumping at me is the completely inept positioning of the tire pressure reset button: hidden somewhere under the dashboard, extremely difficult to find and reach, requiring to be kept depressed until light is blinking three times while you are crouched under the dash, assuming you were fortunate enough to reach it 🤬😤. It’s a shame Lexus could not find either a better location , or an electronic solution that even a Honda Civic has. Keep in mind you have to use it each time you are inflating the tires !

Shop the Germans first, then come see the Lexus LS460, bring your checkbook...Well Over a year later and my LS460 just keeps on pleasing, and my friends with the German car's are finally realizing that Lexus might have something. Their car's are costing them a fortune in JUST ROUTINE maintenance, not to mention repairs, Well I love my $59.00 Mobile 1 oil changes and free car washes at the local Lexus Dealership..
