My first soul
I have 2023 soul GT line and I must say I am impressed with it I have owned a lot of cars in my Time from Durango’s to challengers to even the for pinto lol but for the price you can’t beat it! It’s fun to drive plenty of room and comfortable yea the engine could use a little mor pep but it will get out of its own way when needed and highway driving is great pretty much just keep your finger on the wheel and this thing drives it’s self for miles and miles I get around 30 mpg in city and upwards of 35 highway.

Great vehicle for the money!
Had this car for a month and it has met or exceeded my expectations in almost all areas. Smooth and quiet ride even at highway speeds. I am averaging 31 mpg combined, right at the advertised fuel economy. Seats are very comfortable front and rear. My EX black interior cleans up easily even after grandson spills- the hard plastic on the front seat backs is actually helpful in this regard. The six speaker sound system sounds great to me with no distortion even at strong bass settings, if you are using high quality audio such as YouTube Music or SiriusXM. The LaneKeepingAssist will make a gentle tug on the steering wheel when engaged, but it is easily overcome by the driver. My only minor gripe is the default on Idle-Stop-Go feature which will turn off the engine at stop lights after about 20 seconds. The effect is most noticed on hot days when running AC fan high. When ISG engages, the fan speed will go low while the engine is off. The feature does disengage immediately when the car moves. I understand ISG is driven by EPA guidelines and is now on many new car models. At least Kia puts the button to turn off ISG in an easy to access location right next to steering wheel. But you do have to turn off ISG each time you start the car. My guess is most drivers will find little to complain about with this vehicle, given the price point. However, Kia should really make LED headlights standard. For 2023 in the US you can only get LED on the GT line with a premium tech package. One more tip, the 5 year bumper-to-bumper and 10 year power rain warranties are great. But the electronics factory warranty is only 3 years. So your dealer will still try to upsell a longer warranty. Do your homework on other extended warranty options before purchase, so you can assess if the Kia platinum plan is the best deal.

Nice little car, but
This is our third Soul. 2015 and 2019 models absolutely trouble free. 2023 is nice too however, we great extremely loud squeal from the brakes when backing up every day for the first time. Dealer claims this is normal, "every car does that." I don't think so, the other 2 didn't, none of the other cars in the family, 4 in all, do it. Anybody else have this happen?

‘23 Soul S is fantastic, except for the headlights
I bought a 2023 Soul S. I wanted the S trim because I’m tall and didn’t want a sunroof. The only complaint I have is the headlights. I drove it at night in the rain, and I was literally driving blind.

Very nice for a base model
I have the Mars Orange which has a lot of red in the paint and doesn't look like a pumpkin. Not a speedster but peppy enough. Sport mode helps. Apple Car play is a good feature for streaming from an iphone. I would have gotten the EX but the dealer who had one was charging 10% over MSRP. No thanks. I bought the cargo floor option which elevates the rear storage and covers all the junk I carry around. It also makes the cargo surface flat when folding down rear seats. Overall a nice handling vehicle at a pretty reasonable price.
Problems with less than 5k miles on it
I have a 2023 Kia Soul with less than 5,000 miles on it. Within a few days of owning the car, I noticed a clunking around under the baseboard driver’s side at every stop sign. Took it in to be serviced and was told something was loose and it has been fixed. Within weeks of owning the car, I was backing out of our driveway, and suddenly my car decides to apply the emergency brakes, make loud noises, and abrupt shaking. Scared the crap out of me. There were no collision risks. I took it in two separate times for the automatic emergency braking malfunction while going 1 mph in reverse, and they told me no issues were detected. This problem still happens from time to time and it still scares the crap out of me. The motion is so jerky, I don’t know how it couldn’t and there are still no collision risks around when it happens. Then the electric controller for idle stop and go oil pump was recalled. This recall is a fire risk and says not to park in your garage or near a building as it can catch fire while vehicle is on or off. I took the car in to have the recall serviced. They confirmed it needs to be serviced but didn’t have the part and would contact me when it came in. A couple of weeks later I took the car back in for the recall and when they were done servicing the vehicle, I drove it home. On the drive home it sounded a bit like a wind-up toy car when I hit the gas. I thought maybe that’s how it was supposed to sound with the fixed oil pump. The next morning I started the car and it made a very loud winding sound like the belts were in overdrive and if I kept it on, something was going to overheat. I turned off the car and will be taking it back in to get serviced, although they might need to come pick it up this time. Prior to the recall, the eco boost feature had worse gas mileage than not using it. I haven’t been using it since the recall notice was delivered. On a positive note, I really like how the car looks and how the interior feels. I am so bummed about the other issues.

Third Kia Soul I’ve owned!!
What can I say? This is my signature vehicle. Styling is fun with a little funk, so comfortable, gas mileage is outstanding and these vehicles are incredibly safe. I cannot recommend the Kia Soul enough. Go test drive one and you’ll see. The value you receive with so many features that come standard.

Kia soul #6
The Kia Soul is a unique blend of utility, style and economy in an affordable package. I am currently on Soul #6. 2023 LX). All have been base models. The manufacturer has made constant improvements on a yearly basis to this car over 12 years. Gas mileage has improved with each car. I’m currently getting 30 mpg in normal driving and 37 mpg on my interstate driving. All things considered, Kia Soul is a smart, efficient way to roll. 5 stars across the board.

Fun vehicle!
Love driving the 2023 Soul LX! Handles well, comfortable. Love the space and the digital dash. The only things I don't like are the auto off function for the engine, where it turns off at a light to save emissions because it shutters. You can click a button to have it off but you have to do that EVERY time you start the car, which is annoying. Also there isn't a car trunk release on the dash or key fob so the only way to open it is outside on the hatchback door.
Headlights are pathetic
The headlights that come standard on the LX are useless. It is almost like driving blind at night. I took it back to KIA after my first night drive and they installed a brighter bulb that made no difference. Whether I use the auto feature or manual the headlights are so dim with no range that unless there are street lights I have to drive close enough to another car to take advantage of their headlights. Switching to hi beam is equally as useless. Instead of a smooth bright ray of light fanning out from the headlights, I see a pathetic attempt to emit light. It is alarming to drive. To make matters worse, the lights on the dashboard reflect off the side windows like mirrors making it nearly impossible to see thru them. Despite any safety feature KIA wants to list for this model it has FAILED in regards to safety. I am in the process of shopping for a new car because night driving without headlights is insanity.
Nice Junk
Nice looking Car. 2023 Soul EX model. Pretty much loaded. Driving home from work Nov4, 2023. Engine blew apart at 45mph. with just 923miles on it. Still waiting for repair before i can get rid of it Not a happy customer...
55 thousand and climbing.
Average gas mileage is 38.7. My first set of tires lasted 45,000 miles. Most of my driving is through hills. The seats are great on the 2 hour drives I do twice a day 4 days a week. I have not any problems with the car.

Kia has Soul!
I love my new “Soul.” After having my 2021 totaled and I had zero problems, I knew I wanted to get another one. I love it but it does taking use to all the new “ bells and whistles” which are for safety purposes.

Transmission problems!!!
Don't get me wrong, the 2023 Soul is nice until recently. The tranny is starting to whine, we just bought the car this past April, with the recalls,I am really disappointed in this car.

Awesome like Apple Sauce'm
I love my 2023 Mars Orange Kia Soul. I am a big guy and fit nicely. It has so much room. This is the second Kia Soul I have owned. Just right amount of power. Seats sit up high so you see much better than a car. I can go 380 miles on a tank of gas. Love the Android Auto function that is standard this year. Love the Lane assist. It keeps the car straight on the highway.
Very sexy stylish rides comfortable I love it

Back Door
I just purchased a 2023 kia soul and I have issue with the back door gets stuck all the time. It opens when you lease expected it. I took it for service and they replaced the latch but didn't resolve the issue. Another issue is since there's no spare tire, the cover is sinking when you load groceries and I had to put hard plywood.
Soulmate
Great little car that feels so much bigger inside than you’d suspect by the outside. Great unobstructed views, making her easy to drive, park, and otherwise maneuver. As fuel efficient as it gets without going to a hybrid.

Fun
Great fun car to drive. It is roomy and has a spirited and responsive engine.
Fun little wagon!!
Fun to drive. Averaging 35 mpg in mixed driving in 8000 miles. A bit noisy at freeway speeds, but not awful. So far, no issues, although the engine start stop feature is a bit clunky compared to other vehicles. I would buy again!

Best available
Really wanted a hybrid, but all available had dark interior and great expense. Our Kia Soul has great mileage and feels big enough on the inside. We were delighted to find one with light interior just wish it didn't have the moon roof. Has really met our needs.

Amazing ride
I have nothing but good things to say about this car. The entire staff was awesome.
Good car
I like the car it gets up to 40 mpg . It's plenty peppy and nimble . The problems are. It's terrible in snow gets stuck easy. Takes forever for the heater to warm and the air to cool.
