Used 2006 Jeep Liberty Consumer Reviews
Window regulators
I've had my jeep since 2006. I've had to replace 3 window regulators already and now the fourth has gone out. The regulators should have been recalled and fixed. I called to get a price on a new regulator and it's gone from 64.00 to 167.00 for the part which is ridiculous! I went through 4-5 recalls the first year I had this vehicle. I did really want to have a jeep now I can't wait to get rid of it. I will NEVER buy another jeep! What was supposedly once a great vehicle to have has become a cheaply made piece of crap. I've heard from so many people that they've had the same problems with the windows! Plus now my vehicle is only worth half of what I still owe on it. Horrible resale value!
Going Again
Last year in October I had to go car shopping and bought a Jeep Liberty Sport 4x2. This year I wanted to upgrade to a 4x4 with all the toys. The pricing is right at this moment with the Employee Pricing and all rebates available. This new 2006 Renegade feels bigger than my 2005 Sport. I am averaging 18 MPG driving, 30% stop and go with 70% freeway so far. This is a solid performer and I have not had a chance to go off road with it but it drives great in town.

I love my Liberty!
I bought the my Jeep in 06/08 it has been nothing but great to me. It has 29K miles on it when I bought it and has not given us one problem. It drives great, handles great, looks great, and for an SUV gets great gas mileage. I run in to people who have Liberty's all the time at the lake and they love theirs as well! Does great for pulling the jet ski's and my husband loves it as well. We actually fight over who gets to drive it.
Love Liberty, why mechanical problems
Just purchase a used 2006 Liberty 6th Edition 2 weeks ago. Has only 23,000 miles. Has already been back to the dealership for repairs twice. Rotors were warped, and now a problem with the windows. I love the Liberty and style, but why so many mechanical problems? I should have learned from the 2002 Liberty I owned, transmission went bad at 80,000 miles, so I traded it and vowed never to buy a Liberty again, but here I go again.
Luv it
I just got my Jeep Liberty and I love it. There are a few drawbacks but nothing enough to have swayed me to another vehicle. The gas mileage is about the only bad thing I can say about my Liberty. It looks great, is fun to drive and it is a Jeep.
