Overview
The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer sits at the top of the American SUV brand's lineup. It's a more luxurious version of the three-row Wagoneer, with a more upscale interior complete with diamond-stitched leather seating, real wood trim, and a larger central touchscreen differentiating it from its Grand-less sibling. Other premium features include a height-adjustable adaptive air suspension, a McIntosh high-end audio system and an available dash-mounted front passenger touchscreen. All models are powered by a turbocharged inline-six engine that develops a healthy 540 horsepower — far more than all rivals, save for the performance-focused Cadillac Escalade-V. For 2026, recent camouflaged spy shots indicate Jeep will update the Grand Wagoneer's exterior and interior styling as part of its midlife refresh. We don't know what the changes entail just yet, but stay tuned to this space as we learn more.
Edmunds spotlight: Should you go XL or XXL?
Like the standard Wagoneer, the Grand Wagoneer is available in two wheelbase lengths: the regular Grand Wagoneer and the stretched Grand Wagoneer L, which we review separately. The Grand Wagoneer L has a wheelbase that's 7 inches longer, which contributes to an additional 12 inches in overall length. Interestingly, the increased footprint doesn't translate to more legroom in any of the three rows. It does, however, grant the Grand Wagoneer L a larger cargo area, with the space behind the third row growing from 28.4 cubic feet to 42.2 cubic feet. In other words, get the L variant if you need simultaneous people- and cargo-hauling capability.
Competitors to consider
As Jeep's flagship model, the Grand Wagoneer competes with other full-size three-row luxury SUVs. Rivals include the Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes-Benz GLS and Lexus LX. The Grand Wagoneer might have a slight edge when it comes to off-road capability, but its on-road comfort falls short of its competitors. And as upscale as the interior is compared to other Jeep products, it doesn't feel quite as luxurious as others with the same asking price.
