Love My Jeep

I reviewed a number of SUVs and finally decided on the Grand Cherokee based on its rugged styling, Edmunds reviews and dealer incentives. Thus far, I am very pleased and pleasantly surprised by its performance, comfort and luxury features. Have you ever noticed how many Jeeps are actually still on the road? They're everywhere!

I have owned several Jeep Cherokees and was displeased when the new body type came out. My two big complaints: the lousy gas mileage and the low headroom for driver and passenger. We have spent 18 months trying to move the seat and headrest every which way, but it is very difficult to get into the front seats without hitting your head on the top of the car or door frame. Otherwise, a great car with lots of power, lots of features and a pretty good price compared to the competition.

The more we drive this Jeep with the 5.7 liter engine, the more we love it. Terrific acceleration when needed and effortless acceleration when speed is not needed. The ride is good and the seats while good, are not as good as those in our 1998 Limited. We traded a 2004 Infinity with a Bose high end system and the Boston Acoustics system in the Limited is simply better. Someone did their homework on this system and it simply sounds great. Gas mileage so far is about 15 in city and 20 on highway; as advertised. Actually this is quite remarkable considering it is just about the same as our 98 Limited which has 100 horsepower less and substantially less torque.

Not sure about everyone else's experience with Jeep but mine is for sure not been a good one. Sure it was a used vehicle but wow!!! I bought it with about 130,000 miles which for at the time I was like "hummmm not a bunch of miles for the year." Now after owning the vehicle for 4 years I see why. I've had to replace almost everything except the engine, transmission, and exhaust. I've never taken this thing "off-road" either. So in that time I've dumped almost $10,000 into it and it still needs roughly $3,000 more. I'll never get that money back. I'll never recommend for anyone to ever buy a JEEP

Owned my new Overland Hemi now for almost 3 months and what a fine ride! Love that Hemi muscle and big brakes! This SUV has all the toys and a bargain price. Great handling and so quiet. I drove the BMW , M-B, Lexus and VW Suvs and this is as good as all but the Touareg at $20k less!! Now if only my Jeep dealer had been to Lexus customer service school.
