I LOVE MY JEEP!
The Jeep was the only thing on the dealer's lot that appealed to me. I went in looking to purchase a new car and feel in love with the used jeep! It has never left me any where and runs great plus I love the way it looks. The inside is a little plain and simple but over all it's an awesome car. I feel safe in it. The only down fall is the gas mileage but that is the price you pay driving as SUV! All-in-all I am a very satisfied Jeep owner and don't see myself ever purchasing anything other that a jeep.
2nd Jeep Grand Cherokee
This is my 2nd Jeep - I feel they're very reliable, but it is a DOG in the mountains, no oomph up there at all - all the other SUV's pass me by. Wish it just had a little more "kick" to it! Other than that, it's been reliable - I bought it at 21K and I'm at 84K right now. Very dependable still.

My Jeep
I think the my Jeep Grand Cherokee is fantastic. I test drove a 4runner, Explorer, and a Montero Sport, and the Jeep blows them away. Great ride. Very comfortable. Since I've bought mine, 3 of my friends have bought one b/c of how great mine is.
Gets dirty....See's Mud....3rd Jeep
I have owned 3 grand Cherokees and I have to say the WJ (99-04) is by far the smoothest I have owned. The ZJ (93- 98) that I owned where nice as well. I recommend to anyone that buys a Grand Cherokee to get the V-8 the difference in MPG is barley noticeable. The I-6 is a good engine but makes noise at idle and doesn't have the snap of the line. The H.O. V-8 is very strong. My current MPG is 16 City 23 Highway. Quadra-drive works great off road and in snow. Off pavement ride is by far the best I have experienced. If you but one take it off road. Will buy a 4th
Very strong Jeep
I bought this August of 2003 with 114,500 on the odometer. Mine is a 4x4 because i have needs with my work where I will be offroad a lot.. I now have 256,830 on my odo. Only brakes once and fuel filters to maximize performance and mileage. I average 5,000 miles a month and drive it hard. Constantly at 4-5500 rpm range. I have tested this proven 4.0 engine. Use 4x4 4-5 times a week. Mud, rocks, sand, deep water, asphalt. I hit a deer on I10 in south texas and it drove away like a champ. Tranny still shifts good and engine starts every time. I know I can get 350k or more.
2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Laredo Sport
I bought this vehicle for my college age son who drove it to school. The transmission went out at 75K miles Recently, he has had problems with the starter (intermittent starting problems). I was hesitant to buy a Chrysler product due to known quality and reliabilty issues but decided to take a chance on Jeep because he liked it. Never again! Once everything is corrected, I will sell the vehicle and buy a Honda.
Disappointed
My previous experience with Jeep has always been positive. However, this 'extended warranty' nightmare is turning me off Jeep products. The first few repairs (note: not covered under warranty) seemed trivial enough, but when the regulator went out I started reviewing complaints online. It seems that the little problems I am having are systemic to Jeep owners in this year range. Compaints: ashtray doesn't stay up, parts replaced: hood lifts, gas cap, rotors, starter, window regulator(s), mirror memory doesn't stay, head lights turn on by themself, heated seat temps too far apart: too cool or too hot, differential leaks. Not too happy.
Mystery Repairs
Bought this car with an extended warranty from CarMax back in 2004 and thank goodness we did. Granted we have put a lot of miles on it - right now has 80,000 miles. About 20,000 miles ago I was driving down I-20 in the middle of a major metropolitan city (you can guess which) when the entire panel illuminated (oil light, engine light, gas light etc...), the windows failed to operate and the AC went out. Since that incident the same problem has happened over 10 times and the CarMax mechanics cannot figure out what it is. Now, the engine light is on half the time while no one seems to know why exactly. Transmission is probably going to drop any day now. Will likely sell within the week.
Only one: Jeep
Love my JGCL. 2500 trouble-free miles. Solid and functional design, no sqeaks or rattles. Quarda-drive is excellent in snow and on ice.
Never Again
This JGCL was my first ever American car and i assure you all it will be my last. My first inspection a rear shock was bad. A year into my lease brakes and a fuel sensor went. 18 months into my lease transmission slipped. After four visits to the dealer and being rebuilt twice its still giving me problems. Do not buy this car. Thank God I leased it!
I Love This Truck
I bought this truck in May at 73,000 and now it has 80,000 6 months later. I have not had any problems with it. The fuel economy on my 4.7 V8 is 13.5 - 14 city and 18 - 22 highway. There are a lot of V6s that do not get that.
Gas Pumps become tourist destinations
First off, we bought this car brand new and drove it to the grave (totaled in an accident). So with that said, I feel now that its gone I can write this. The car ran perfectly to 100k. Never had a single mechanical error other than the AC failing 2 times. Car was fun to drive, could go anywhere. But it was slower than molasses. The V6 just simply didnt move the car. The gas mileage stunk. I averaged 13 city 15 highway. Still though I had a lot of great times in the car, and really nothing much went wrong. If gas ever drops in price I would get another.
3 Jeeps and still going
Owner of two jeeps, a sport and Laredo. I have over 30,000 miles the 2002 Laredo and 165,000 on the 1996 sport. Happy to say that I have had no major problems with either jeep. Once the engine light stayed on for two days and then went out on its own on the Laredo. Since the light generally has to do with polution control sensers I have not had it check out. Some of these problems people complain about seem to be petty. Keep on Jeeping.
My 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD
This is my third Jeep, 1st Grand Cherokee and I do use them off road. The vehicle works excellent off road and has been very reliable, no problems at all, great car!
Best Yet
The Grand Cherokee(V8) is a top shelf 4x4. I have been driving Blazers for the past 8 years and the Jeep Grand is a much more capable vehicle. If you are looking for gas milage, buy a 4cyl. econo car. If you want a quick, real 4x4, get a Jeep Grand (V8).
Almost but not quite
This vehicle is an odd and frustrating mix of good and bad qualities. The good: The styling (interior and exterior), ride and options are nice. It is impressive off road, and that is a Jeep. The Bad: Certain mechancial systems are simply flawed, like the front break system, the steering system and possibly the transmission on some units. You'll get to know the service guys.
Under Appreciated
This a very good SUV choice for a car enthusiast. It really goes. I use mine for virtually all on-road duty both city and suburban. It handles well in traffic and on the open road.
Year older...no problems
I've had my Jeep for nearly a year now without a single problem. It's my third Jeep product and by far the best. The ONLY down side to the current Jeep line is the blandness of the dash. If more of the brushed aluminum was used throughout (rather than just around the radio), it'd be a better lookin' interior.
Nice vehicle.
You've gotta love a Jeep. The gas milage is not great but what do u expect in a SUV. Jeep did a great thing when they put the spare tire under the luggage space and out of the way.
My Lithia Lemon .
My initial impressions of my Jeep where quickly changed to those of regret and hopes that I was in some sort of bad dream but it really was a nightmare. My Jeep has 17000 miles on it , the brakes are in need of being replaced for the third time due to some sort of recall problems. The engine light has needed to be reset nine times, the gas tank has been replaced due to leaks, and as I write this the engine light is on again.. Chrysler said there are 400 things that can make the light come on but they cant find the problem but they refuse to replace or buyback this poor excuse of an SUV.. I would not recommend this vehicle to my worst enemy.
Mcglone
Exelent, glad i worked hard to get it
Best Mid Sized SUV
I've owned my Jeep Grand Cherokee for going on 9 months with no problems. It has great performance, wonderfully designed interior, a terrific stereo. It is definitely a cut above the rest in its class.
So far, so good
Just bought it and am very pleased so far. It performed extremely well on a recent 1100 mile trip. I'm getting about 17 mpg around town and 21 on the highway.
I Love It
Very good vehicle so far, very tough frame, good for years and very effective in wintertime. Only bad point are electronic gadget but it's a little thing compare to the great quality of the construction
MY JEEP
The Jeep to me is a Die-Hard SUV that seems to have the power and luxury that most SUV's just seem to lack. Even though the new Trailblazer that Chevy came out with has 270 horsepower, the Jeep just felt like it would leave it in the dust. Plus, the interior of the Chevy is just too tinny to me.
Won't be buying when the lease is over.
We will be returning our Jeep when the lease is over. The ride is stiff, even for an SUV. The front seats are uncomfortable for any trip longer than an hour. Front seats are narrow and never seem to hit us in the right spots no matter how many ways we adjust them. Visibility is so-so with the narrow front windshield and wide a-pillars.
Unfortunate Unreliability
Had JGCL V8 for 1 and half years. 36000 miles. Repeated mechanical problems, some which were replaced identically 3 or 4 times. Chrysler is taking back the vehicle. For $38K vehicle, it should not fall apart so quickly. Pitty since it is a beautifull looking vehicle and has nice interior amenities (granted, not as many as others, but quite ergonomic and functional).
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Best car ever, thats if u owned a Yogo in the past.
Fun to Drive to the Mechanic!!!
I can tow anything, drive anywhere, and have a blast doing it!!! The truck has looks, power, comfort, options, everything you would need. I wouldn't go near it again. It's a gas guzzler and spent just as much time in the shop as it did on the road. Mainly axle and suspension issues for me. I did drive it hard but I thought that's what the overland was built for. My mistake, didn't mean to use the 4 wheel drive, or drive through that mud, or pull that wrangler/tahoe/land rover out of the sand. My bad!!!
loving this one
enjoy it al the way
jeep
great 4x4
Run Run, Fix. Run Run, Fix.
Love this car. 4th in a series of Jeeps, 2 CJ's, 1 Cherokee, now this one. Driven hard all it's life. Lots of highway miles, some city driving, long vacation trips, on the road, in the dirt, everywhere. Plenty of power from the 4.7 V-8, lots of comfort from the leather seats, lots of room for all the junk we carry. List of items fixed so far, starter, radiator, fuel rails and fuel pump, three injectors, drivers seat floor mount, steering box, power steering pump and hoses. Not cheap to fix, but with 118,000 miles and counting, it's cost less to maintain than some of my past autos. What happened to Jeep after 2004? I guess my next car will be something else. To bad.
Jeep Cherokee Laredo
This is my 3rd Jeep and I have no problems with it. I do suggest keeping up the maintenance on it. Like with anything you buy, if you take the care in to car doctor on the scheduled visit's you will get great performance out it. You cant just drive and drive and expect any vehicle to not ever need some type of up keep maintenance. I love the Jeeps and would not think of buying anything else.
1999 grand cherokee
i've had my jgc for 3 years.i had a few of the popular problems, such as jerking forward after coming to a complete stop.after 3 visits to the dealer(and a new drivetrain),that problem was solved.the transmission stinks!it jerks forward when accelerating.the overall design is great, but they need to do something about this transmission.there is no shot of buying this vehicle!
Straight six, economical to operate & dependable.

Jeep Overland
Luxurius, very powerfull and fun to drive. Comfortable on very long drive (19 hours), as well as very responsive and confident driving in the city. I feel very safe and in control when driving my Jeep. I am very satisfied with it so far in every aspect.
Most bang for BUCK!
I spent countless hours researching to find what I thought would be my best bet in the SUV market. I was a little bit concerned about the Jeep's reliability based on some write-ups I had viewed. Well let me tell you, when preventive maintenance i.e. oil change, rotate tires etc. is kept up, the Jeep will be there when it counts. I will tell anyone, before you buy, give a Jeep a try. It will be the best move you've ever made regarding a vehicle purchase.
Dont be fooled
Funny: My 3rd GC. Overland Model. Well maintained @ 60k, the climate control quit working, both seat warmers quit, Ready for 3rd brake job. Cost new $37K. Now needs over $2K work just to make it worth $8k according to KBB. Foolishly thought about trading it in on a new GC. The first thing the tech inspected was climate control, 2nd seat warmers. Internet cites say this is very common. Service department gives me encouragement that if they fix the climate control, they'll put in stronger air flaps than original. This is just plain wrong. I cannot bring myself to buy another Jeep. Had he admitted Jeeps poor design and repaired accordingly, I would of bought a new GC but got murano le.
WILLING TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
I CHOSE THIS VEHICLES PRIMARILY ON ITS GOOD LOOK AND SIMPLE DRIVETRAIN. ON ROAD DYNAMICS SUFFERED IMENSELY WITH SIMPLE DRIVETRAIN AND SUSPENSION. OIL CHANGE HAS BEEN THE ONLY MAINTENANCE WITH OVER 46K+ MILES AND COUNTING...OH YES THERE WAS A SENSOR REPLACEMENT UNDER WARRANTY,AND DRIVER SIDE MIRROR REPLACEMENT ON THE NORTH SIDE OF WARRANTY, THANKS TO "CSI" CONCERNED REPAIRED COMPLIMENTARY...OTHERWISE LOVE MY 'TRUCK'.
1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Coming to the end of a 3yr lease on a 1999 Grand Cherokee. Here are some of the lowlights of my last 3yrs. Doorlocks went out twice,1st year and again in the last 6 mos. . Drivers seat weld broke. Mickey mouse plastic trim shows much wear . Trasmission occasionally slips. No guts at all. All my driving was onroad, I couldn't imagine taking this wimpy POS offroad. I would absolutely never buy or lease another Daimler-Chrysler product ever again. Just a terrible product! Good luck to anybody who would buy one of these in any year. Every other Grand Cherokee owner I've spoken to has had a similar experience
I love you jeep, but this car is not the best.
Here's how bad it is at 180,000 miles - window regulators - TERRIBLE, cheap design that causes them to break all the time. Have been through about 6 of them. Oil leak - this thing leaks like crazy, if your jeep isn't leaking then its out of oil lol! Valvetrain noise - annoying clattering from valvetrain, have been chasing it forever and It's lifters, requires you to remove the cylinder head to replace on the 4.0L motor, what a pain. Water pump failed recently, transmission is clunky and car makes all sorts of noises before its all warmed up. I don't enjoy driving in something that feels like it's about to fall apart personally. If you see these listed online, THEY'RE CHEAP FOR A REASON! Don't buy one, unless you like fixing cars! People try to defend jeep with their lives, but these grand cherokees just aren't reliable. Sorry jeep enthusiasts - this can hardly be considered a jeep anyway - the only "jeep" thing about it is the engine, the rest is cheap chrysler made garbage. THOROUGHLY disappointed with this purchase, will be buying a more reliable car in the near future. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one. -Ray
