Fantastic vehicle!!
Traded our 2019 Santa Fe 2.4 Ultimate for a 2023 2.5 Calligraphy- even the same color, lol- but we're been shocked as to how much nicer this Callgraphy is- the ride is MUCH smoother, and OMG the power from the turbo engine- the mid-range acceleration especially is almost shocking- I can't see of ever needed in more power than this. The only thing I'm not thrilled with is the DCT transmission, but not because we've had any problems with it- it's just different, and a little less refined than the automatic transmission, but hopefully Hyundai will continue to refine its performance- it's just a tad rough, but the trade-off is better fuel mileage, I get it- Speaking of which- with ALL this power, and no doubt heavier than our 2019, the 2023 gets BETTER gas mileage than the 2019, which includes playing with all the new power a LOT- amazing. I have a 2009 Mercedes S550, and the Calligraphy is every bit as luxurious as my car. Regardless of price, I think this Calligraphy stacks up well to ANYTHING available in the market right now- it's wonderful to drive, and I look forward to getting into it every time. BTW, just to prove I'm not a Hyundai Santa Fe plant, I find the 2024 Santa Fe a HUGE disappointment, and I have ZERO interest in buying one. My concern now is how long can I hold onto my 2023 Calligraphy until Hyundai comes to their senses and brings back the 2023 styling.

great SUV for the investment dollar
I purchase a 2023 SEL Premium that was the end of year left over, its very close to the 2019 SEL Plus I owned and traded in but besides all the new tech and leather like eating its a big step forward. Yes all these reviews say the turbo is nice and I did take a limited on a long test drive but came away knowing dam well if you wanna play you gotta pay at the pump plus more costly to maintain down the line. I also found the dual clutch 8 speed trany a bit clunky plus I also felt the upgraded models above the SEL trims had that softer ride around corners which maybe different parts used in there suspension. The SEL Premium has a very smooth rig but doesn't roll around cornets like the Limited did, its more firm and better than the 2019 I owned and if you want a sportier ride as far as acceleration plus it in the sport mode and that stratifies most around town romps when you need that extra kick in traffic. Braking has improved but I am still getting used to the none shifter stuff, my arm and right hand keeps on looking for that. All the tech I am still getting used to but the one con I have is the rear view mirror with no garage door programing stuff but instead its that dimming one, the first day I owned it that was the only thing Hyundai to me screwed up on. I think I upset the salesperson on the test drive cause I told him it was as quite as a coffin and he had taken that the wrong way but there is way less road noise in the cabin compared to the 2019 model I owned. The one thing I wish they would have did on the Premium is cooled seats, I live in Florida and heated seats are a joke. I also noticed the AC is much better on the newer models so that's another plus. All in all Hyundai has improved there Santa Fe since 2019, made it a much better all around car/suv, I didn't test drive the 2024 cause to me its is rather a no style type SUV, its a box like the Honda Element was and its plain looking so if I wanted a 7 seater three row it would be the Nissan Pathfinder which is boxy like but has more style and I really don't feel Hyundai is in the off road type SUV's but Nissan was at one time with there Xterra which they killed because they wanted more sales. I did buy the FWD model, maybe if I lived up north I would have opted for the AWD one but its not needed down here.

Hyundai does it again
I looked at a few other SUV's Honda,VW,Toyota and choose the Santa Fe it was much better engineered and rode better.
Understated quality and comfort
Hyundai 2023 Calligraphy surprisingly is a great performer in quality and comfort that very few people know about. After a year it still feels awesome! The ride is smooth and responsive. Packed with more technology than most luxury vehicles for the price. Nice job Hyundai!!!!

So Impressed with the limited.
First, I am a car guy and have owned more than 80 autos. I knew after driving it 500 yards that this was a special vehicle. After 4,000 miles, I am even more impressed. The ride and drive is just excellent. The turbo gives you all the performance you really need, not as much as my Shelly Gt 500 had, but again all you need. The Santa Fe limited is very quiet, smooth, comfortable and spacious. It is a luxury vehicle, but at a reasonable price. I will say that I really like the style of the 23, but not the new style of the 24 and it’s boxy look and with captain’s chairs versus a bench second row seats. The 24 is more suited for families with kids obviously.

2023 Calligraphy 18 Month Review
After 22,000 miles, I absolutely love the technology in this car. I have a hard time turning my head and have always had trouble going in reverse. The perimeter warning beeps keep me free and clear. I love seeing the lanes beside me when I engage the turn signals. Love the rear camera. The radio rocks with power to spare. It pumps out a lot of wattage. I do wish it had a better base speaker. The leather seats in the Calligraphy are incredible. I paid full MSRP and don't feel bad about it. Love the heads up display. Love the Iphone charger. Love the air conditioned seats! Love the heated steering wheel. The 20 inch wheels are not as comfy as the 19" wheels on my wife's 2019 Santa Fe. I get 22 mpg around town. I did have an engine misfire issue recently. The engine light came on. I turned the car off and back on which cleared the issue up. I will keep an eye on this going forward. I love the big 10.5" display. Yeah, I wish it had a spare tire. This vehicle is quick with the 2.5T engine. And, there's very little body roll in the turns.

Very nice but underpowered
I bought a Brand new 2023 Hyundai Santa fe Sel in November of 2023. It has been a very nice car and I love the styling and features. Highway driving assist (HDA) is one of my favorites as I commute for work. But I have noticed the base 2.5L N/A engine is very underpowered. With that i’ve noticed if there’s any inclines or a slight wind the car will sit in 7th gear around 3,000 rpm’s. With this your fuel economy suffers. If there’s no wind and it’s fairly flat I have gotten upwards of 30 mpg. But most of the time it sits around 22 mpg for my since filled. Another pro is that the Htrac AWD system is amazing in the snow. I have had no issues or worries getting though anything.

My review
I rented this vehicle for a month and put around 5k miles on it. First of all the motor is very powerful. Gas mpg is same or worse than a v6. The electronics on this vehicle is dangerous. I deactivated all the electronic aids and it still try’s to steer and the cruise control will not engage at times and lane departure keeps kicking In even when I have it deactivated. It is a pain to drive with this going on. I highly stay away from this thing.

Wish I could do 0 stars
I bought a brand new white Santa Fe Limited in March 2024 (it's a 2023 Calligraphy model). Within 1 week, the windshield chipped, had that repaired and it completely cracked 1 month later. Turned it in and glass repair guy said this happens often as the glass is much thinner so very little impact will cause cracking. Windshield was back ordered so I drove it for 3 more months with it cracked. Then had to sit at the dealership for them to "calibrate" it at a cost of almost $200! Also within the first 30 days of owning it, the entire back bumper at the lift gate started chipping badly. Took it to my dealership and they refused to submit for warranty. 2nd dealership was the one that told me that hyundai had problems on their white paint. They submitted it to warranty and warranty said it was outside forces. I'm EXTEMELY careful loading into my lift gate, had a Kia Sorrento for 6 years and had zero chips in it, but suddenly this is outside forces?? I don't think so. The design of the console is not functional. The lower level storage is awkward at best to reach. The top of the line version that I have has to connect to Android Auto via a power cord that is in a horrible spot and often gets hit which causes your screen to blank out. I'm trading this POS and getting rid of hyundai forever. Do not buy!

Downgrade was really an upgrade
I was downsizing my monthly expenses and decided that my large Lexus GX payment was a good place to start. I thought I was downgrading (reducing monthly payment by 60%). I wound up with a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe limited. For half the price of the 2020 GX. Besides a luxury brand name, and slightly better curb appeal, the Lexus wins in zero categories as the Santa Fe. 2 times (or more) the mpg . 3 times acceleration and handling. 4 times the actual usable tech. 5 times more fun to drive. 6 times the overall driver experience. 7 times less likely to get me in an accident. Due to poor visibility from drivers seat. I thought I was downgrading, but it feels like an upgrade in every way except the appearance.

Wife loves Santa Fe more than me
Well, my wife had a 2007 Santa fe that she adored. I then got her a 2016 Rav4. Great vehicle but no love for it. Just bought her the 2023 Santa Fe limited and she is in true love! At least it keeps her off my back.

Plenty of scoot, technology & safety - Calligraphy
Lots of cargo space. High belt line that helps driving at night against oncoming high beams. Loaded with tech & personalization features. Faster than expected, but not a corner carver like Macan or Stelvio, but it does scoot. Great family CUV & also right for us (seniors with dogs). Great "bang for you buck". Hoping the next 5 years are trouble free. Cheers! Just went to NYS from TN and back after the first oil change. Front seats are really very comfortable and the HUD is outstanding. Gone for 3 weeks with two dogs. The back was full of stuff, but never blocked my rear view. A lot of storage space found under the back cover really helped. My wife's favorite vehicle to date!

Paint chipping
I own a 2018 Santa Fe, the paint color is white. The paint is chipping off in large pieces on the top and hood. I have several friends with the same car and same problem. I called the dealer in Fort Mill, SC and was told they are aware of the problem but my car was no longer under warranty so they could not help. I am not aware that a warranty would cover this problem. They were sorry and told me to take the car to a paint shop. A recall should be placed for this problem since they are aware of the problem. I asked the dealer if they would be willing to pay part of the required cost to repair, no was the answer, but they were sorry. I will not purchase another Hyundai.
Santa Fe is here to stay!
I love my new Santa Fe. She is everything I thought she would be! Smooth, sleek, convenient, easy to drive and a beauty to look at!

Love this car!!
I have owned 2 other Santa Fe’s in the past and I have loved each one of them. They were all reliable with great features. My new one has all the bells and whistles and I love it all from the heads up display to the sunroof. I love the turbo as I can move fast when I need to get out of the way. It’s just a great car!

The good life.
This is by actual count the 18th new Hyundai bought from the same dealer where I live. The only regret is that I didn’t take the 0% three year financing. Lesson learned. I traded in my leased 2022 Tucson that had only12K. But there were some things I didn’t like. I previously had a 2020 Santa Fe that I traded in when I got the Tucson. Used cars at that time were bringing top dollar. In any event, I now have about 250 miles on it and find very little to complain about. I’ve yet to master the built in navigation and will need to read the manual. I wanted a SUV for the ease of getting in and out of and I am 80 years old. I’m getting used to the push button transmission but would prefer the “old fashioned” shift lever. But it’s not a big deal. I got the SEL with dark cloth interior because that cheap leatherette doesn’t hold its shape. I had it replaced on my Tucson but very quickly the upholstery did the same thing. Now one would have to get the Calligraphy to get the NAPA upholstery but I didn’t want all that other stuff that I didn’t need or want plus it was much more costly. I definitely didn’t want the pano roof. If I would make a recommendation it would be to include the bumper sensors for parking purposes. Other than that the SEL has everything I need. The styling will wear well and it is a solid car something that the Tucson wasn’t quite. Other than my dropping the ball on financing I am a happy camper.

Love this car!
I bought my 2023 hyundai santa fe December 31st of 2022 with only 13 miles on it. I drive for uber and I have racked up almost 42k in just 15 months. The only issue I have had with the car is the horn stopped working around 38k. No problem, it was all covered under the warranty. I get excellent gas mileage, ranging from 28mpg, to 32mpg. This is my very first hyundai and I am totally impressed with its interior design, making everything easy just at the touch of my finger tips. I have no complaints what so ever.

Best of the Last
I have a 2023 Santa Fe Turbo Limited. The car is incredibly comfortable and dependable. It has many more options than Lexus offers at a much lower price point. It also has an incredible warranty compared to cars of similar calibers. I’ve been buying Hyundais for 30 years and you cannot go wrong.

POS
We own a 2023 hyundai calligraphy bought new last March. Issues with the push button shift selector, I thought it was in park but actually it was still in drive. VERY dangerous! Car should have a real shift lever.a week ago my wife had the car shut down while driving ,another dangerous situation. Car towed to dealer who told us the " main " fuse had blown out. This is definitely the WORST vehicle I've ever owned. Very poor gas mileage for a modern suv and the vehicle's electronics are sketchy at best. STAY AWAY FROM THIS POS!!

April 2025 review on 2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy
The Good after 15,000 miles: Cabin comfort, heads up display, physical climate/entertainment buttons, cruise assist, sun roof, bright headlights, body/paint resilience, and FUN to drive factor. The Not so good after 15,000 miles: Shift buttons annoying, fuel MPG, driving experience mostly good - but in certain circumstances less than desired, transmission a bit suspicious - hoping not a problem long term. Overall: Happy with this SUV!!

Too complicated
2 cup holders in the center that get in each others way. Holders in the door are worthless. Changes made for individual drivers don’t hold. Unlocking of doors is a pain in the arse. Gas saving button is a waste and the manual that came with it has no idea what models have certain options. Radio is nice if you can get it to work, stations are selected from the screen which is not sensitive to the touch. This car is a complete Cluster F.
