The Sonata is Hyundai's midsize sedan. It offers a wide range of powertrain options, from a base turbocharged model to an effective and enjoyable hybrid to a performance-oriented N Line model with 290 horsepower. Despite its upscale looks and wide array of trims, we can't help but find fault with some of the interior fit and finish and the car's admittedly jittery ride quality.
Rumors have percolated online alternately that Hyundai could kill the Sonata amid flagging sales or give it another face-lift. We have no official word on the Sonata's fate, but if it does get the latter for 2024, we wouldn't be surprised to see its flashy, eyebrow-like daytime running lights replaced by a new, more squared-off face with the headlight clusters moved lower down into the front bumper area, along the lines of the new Kona, which was just redesigned for 2024.
If there's a refresh, we'd also expect the Sonata to come with a slew of tech updates that would include Hyundai's Highway Driving Assist 2 functionality, as well as its recently updated digital key and a Wi-Fi hotspot. All of these features recently made their way into the new Palisade, and since the Sonata is Hyundai's biggest sedan, we'd be surprised if they weren't available here too.
