Back at Home in an Odyssey
After having had a 2005 Odyssey, followed by a 2007 Odyssey, we decided to try a Ford Expedition EL. While the Expedition was a nice vehicle, it was not as functional as the Odyssey had been. With 4 young children, the Odyssey was hands down the better vehicle for us. We learned by experience that the big SUVs aren't always better. We waited to see photos of the 2011 Odyssey but were not impressed. Since we were familiar with the 2010 Odyssey style and features, we decided to take advantage of the last model year reliability and good incentives. Are we ever excited to be back in our Odyssey! It's an EX-L with RES, dark cherry pearl color. We feel like we are back at home!
2010 Honda Odyssey
So far after 750 miles this minivan is great for my growing family. Car seats fit perfectly in the second row and the sliding doors make life so much easier. Since the minivan is low it allows my 2 yr old to climb in no problem. Bluetooth has come in handy and the hands free phone is great. The van doesn't accelerate like my BMW 3 Series used to, but it'll do. Handling surprisingly is pretty good and holds a corner quite tight.

Just As Expected
We have owned our Odyssey for 10 months now and so far we are pleased with how it operates and serves our needs. It has not seen a very long drive yet this year because it's sharing the duty with our two older Hondas, but hopefully we can rack up some miles before winter sets in once again here in the East Coast. We have no problems at all with the engine, body and the instrument controls. The VCM works fine, although the claim of seamless transition does not hold true, for the driver can feel when it's switching from either VCM or non- VCM modes. The steering feel is nicely weighted which gives a sense of control to the direction we want to go.
08 vs 2010
We put 3000 mi on the van since our purchase. Best highway mileage was 29 mpg using non ethanol, 91 octane fuel. 29 MPG fuel mileage conditions; tire pressure 35 PSI, 60 - 65 MPH, little wind, 50-60 degrees. Trip average 25 MPG. 87 octane kills mileage. The Touring increased weight and larger tires will not be as fuel efficient as our older 08 EXL with 16 inch tires. However, the cabin noise is noticeably reduced from the 08 making the purchase worthwhile & front suspension more substantial. The EXL/Touring w NAVI is a great travel vehicle for empty nesters or families.
Dog gets a new hauler
After 30K on an 07 Element, time for more room for the dog. So far very happy with Odyssey. I've pulled the middle seats out, rear seats down provide plenty of room for old rover. Gas mileage so far at 21, i usually cruise LA fwys at 70 mph + no complaints here. hope i don't have to have the new '11.
Nice family minivan!
Traded our 2007 EX-L RES with 2010 Touring ,and we loved it!.I heard a lot of reviews about transmission problems on odyssey van but so far I didn't have problem with our 07.There are complains about MPG ratings too!you know what, maybe you forgot that this is a 6 cylinder, not 4,so don't expect that it's as fuel efficient as civic. We drove our 07 to New York 2 yrs. ago and I filled the tank twice only all the way.We started from the midwest.Very reliable van!!
2010 Odyssey-Ownership log
Dealers are good. We bought the car in an emergency. We saw an EX-L RES but we wanted nav, so the dealer swapped it out in an hour for an EX-L RES NAV. Our car is Ocean Mist Metallic. No major parts have been replaced. We also have a 2008 Odyssey Touring (Mocha Metallic) and a 2012 Camry SE (Attitude Black). The car was bought new on December 23, 2010.

Best minivan by far
I bought my 2010 minivan in late 2009 and for 9 years it has has been running great and super reliable but during the last 9 months I have had engine malfunction light come on at three different instances. Last time around the dealer replaced 3 of the 6 fuel injectors and it seems to be fine now but it took the dealership too long to diagnose the problem with any degree of confidence. I have owned Chrysler, Dodge and Toyota in the past but the Honda Odyssey has been far superior in my humble opinion so much so that I purchased a 2019 version and so far I am very well pleased with it despite lower rankings in Consumer Reports.

Worst problems on 2010 Honda Odyssey Ex
I think that Honda should step there game up with manufacturing there cars. I have a 2010 Honda Odyssey EX and the suspension is the worst I every seen. It keeps on knocking and I have changed every suspension part, and it still knocking. But overall this car is great except for that problem.

Great vehicle
Very comfortable and roomy vehicle. Gets great gas mileage. It has a hitch and we pull a golf cart to Florida every summer without a problem. However, I've had a problem with the alignment of this van since I bought it. It has always pulled to the left. I've had it aligned numerous times but it stills pull. I've just learned to deal with it because it has never impacting the ride.

Honda's reputation exceeds reality
Purchased car 2 years ago with 126k, with the though that this was a Honda....no more repairs like my other cars I had. Wrong! First month I had it power steering hose went bad. Next, I heard a knocking noise in it. Took it in....timing belt. Oh....reality check -- Honda still uses belts - not chains. Luckily, I caught it before it broke and could do further damage. Automatic slides doors -- oh yah...does not last -- luckily they built in an "off" switch so we can turn it off and push it by hand. I bought new tires for it...oh my does this car eat up front tires. I bought 65k mile tires, and they are already bad at only 30k -- after further research-- it's the car, not the tire. This summer, the A/C unit went out....I let it go through the end of the summer because it's going to cost $1k+ to fix. Ughh....more $$$ I haven't even paid for it yet. I've had plymouth, fords, general motors, and toyota. The cost of ownership on this one has been super high - and I'm extremely disappointed in that. Ride-wise...has been very nice. This one has the 8th seat in it, and I do love that. Very nice. The leather seats and roominess of the inside is great. I love the way the seats fold down in back -- great features. But this has not been the "reliable" brand I expected, especially it being my first Honda.

Over 200,00 miles strong!
We purchased the 2010 model in 2016 and haven't had any major issues. It has over 200,00 miles on it and We love it! We have taken this van on many trips to the OBX, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and Myrtle Beach. We do keep pretty regular oil changes.

313,000 miles
Bought with 150,000 miles on it nearly 8 years ago. Only recently had issues to where I am concerned to drive long distances after heading 10 hours one direction to visit family. Mechanic said it has done well but not sure issue can affordably be fixed. Still driving it 35 miles a day. Thankful!
Great vehicle
We have a 2010 touring that is now 13 years old. Superb vehicle no issues. 110,000 km and still running great.

Don't buy if you live where it snows
I have had this van for a year, and have missed my SUV ever since I bought it. The dealership was great, the service is fabulous, and Honda's reputation is the best, which is why I bought the van in the first place. However, I will not buy another Honda or a van. I was just stuck on a tiny hill in the snow for :15 minutes until some good person towed me up the hill. EVERYONE was going around me, including cars and other makes of vans. This van is not comfortable to me to drive, and it does not allow electronic devices to be charged when the vehicle is off.
Less than I expected
This van is very quiet on the road, handles well with a full load of passengers, love the leather, the sun roof, and the auto HVAC, which can be adjusted separately for the driver, passenger, and rear.
I love my minivan!
My wife and I bought this as a Honda Certified car 4/8/2014. A week later, our first baby was born. Let me just say that a minivan is the absolute best vehicle for a family. We bought an Odyssey LX in Bali Blue (gorgeous color) that I took in on trade at the Honda dealer where I work. At the time, I was hoping for some more features (tri-zone climate control, power sliding doors) but over the past few months, I have just been so pleased with this van! We've only put about 5,000 miles on it, but I'm really impressed. The A/C works great, it's easy to park, smooth and quiet on the freeway, and the engine has plenty of power. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!
LOVE Honda Oddseys
I've had one the last 16 years. My kids are grown but I still want to own one. Just wanting to upgrade to a newer one

Spoiled owner
We traded in our 2006 for a 2010. We like some of the new changes (especially the auto rear door opener), but we are spoiled because we were disappointed in losing access to the under the floor storage from the drivers seat. We were also disappointed in losing the upper storage area on the back of the driver and front passenger seat (the one with the zippers). Also great to see the built in XM Radio--but can you see the display anymore as we are used to seeing--name of song/artist?? Overall, an awesome vehicle and that's why we bought again.
Where's the compass?
This van is a dream to drive. I loved my Ford Windstar, but this one is even better with heated seats, sunroof. And 15 cupholders - eight are in the front seat alone! I had auto side doors on the Windstar, but now the auto liftgate is great for shopping. My teenage daughters are thrilled with the XM radio and surround sound. The eighth seat is great for taking large groups to high school events. Great to have third row seats that fold into the floor instead of having to pull them out if you needed to haul anything. Totally, dream vehicle, but I have always used a compass to drive. I had to buy a tacky looking one to get around town.
Happy Buyer
Really like our van. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about a minivan, especially anyone with kids. Very kid friendly. Low total cost of ownership.
Great Vehicle
3500K miles so far and not a single problem. Rides well, much easier than the Acadia we had for getting our 3 little kids in/out. More car-like drive as well. Highly recommend.
Good now but some bumps along the way
Half-way home from picking up the van, the VSC system failed. Lucky there is a switch to disable on the dash. Took a week at the dealer to figure out the problem and now some 1500 miles later, everything is OK. The Touring has everything as standard and it all works pretty well except the voice assist on the nav system is hard to hear at highway speeds (volume at max) due the fact that there is a lot of noise in the cabin at 60 mph +. The voice assist on the bluetooth phone is much louder however (kind of strange).
Just Purchased
The car is comfortable and drives well with good power. The list of bells and whistles seems to go on and on. There may be too many at times - it took two salesman and the finance guy to figure out why the remote to the RES didn't work. There is a lockout button on the dash that no one really knew about. However, we're pleased with the van and look forward to years of service. My wife just wishes it came in a pearl white.
Great on the Freeway!
We love driving this minivan to haul the kids to and from college. We have an '07 Accord as well. The Odyssey is so much more comfortable and swallows up all the gear our kids need for school. We have had a few heavy snow storms in Pa and this van with Bridgestone Blizzaks has pulled through with no problem at all. The seats are extremely comfortable on 4 hour trips we take. The dual climate control works great for us. My wife and I can have our own temp. We love the van!
The best of the minivans but why no HID?
We bought this in November for our family. It has a great engine with plenty of power. The inside is nicely equipped. The seats are the most comfortable of any vehicle I've owned. The controls , ride and handling are great. The brakes could be a little bigger but I've never routinely driven a minivan. My only complaint it the lack of HID headlights. At this price point that should be standard. Also only the Grand Touring (highest) trim has the informational display. From other cars it is nice to know such things as oil life and tire pressure. Don't bother with the very expensive rear entertainment center; they can break and for a tithe of the price you can get a dual screen dvd.
Really like the odyssey
We really like the van but wished it got better gas mileage but the comfort and the fine driving we will take it as it is. We are a big family and really like the space and handling of the van.
Great Purchase....again
We traded our 2006 Odyssey for the 2010 Odyssey just recently. We absolutley loved our 2006 and decided to upgrade to the slightly new 2010 while taking advantage of year end offers and prices. The Odyssey is the by far greatest vehicle we have ever purchased or driven! My family loves being in the van, and long trips are seemingly short due to the comfort features that come standard with the Odyssey. We decided to lease the 2010 just so we can keep getting new Odyssey's every so often! The van drives like a car, and comes equipped with so many features that come in handy with families! I can't say enough about the Odyssey...I will definatley buy more!
I love my 2010 Odyssey
Beats any other vans, hands down. Great design, looks, powerful engine. The car comes with a lot of basic features compared to other vans. I tried the Sienna but didn't like the handling (sloppy and feels light on the road), on the contrary the Odyssey feels tight, higher quality car as expected from Honda.
What a nice minivan!
First, I want to point out that this is our very 1st minivan. We actually never thought we would own a minivan, until our friends bought an Odyssey 2 years ago. My wife and I are very pleased with our new Alabaster Silver Odyssey EX with grey cloth interior (we did a 3 year lease). We have had the Odyssey for 1 month and 1,000 miles so far. The Odyssey is very smooth, quiet, comfortable, surprisingly fun to drive, excellent interior, plenty of room, and gas mileage is 18MPG so far in city only. The front driver seat/passenger seat is very comfortable (grey cloth) and the middle captain chairs are fantastic too. Overall, the fit/finish is excellent and we truly enjoy our Odyssey!
Love Our Odyssey
We are very happy with our Odyssey. We have the EX-L with the RES. Our kids love the DVD quality and the wireless head sets. We love the tri-climate controls, back up camera, power remote sliding doors and tailgate, and all the fun toys Honda included. We are averaging 22 MPG and do mostly city driving. We are taking a trip to Florida (from TX) in August and can't wait to drive the Odyssey there. We have found the ride to be comfy and quiet even on the highway. We considered the Pilot as well but loved the Odyssey so much more.
Get over it, You NEED a minivan
I'm a 37 yo mom of 3 and a TOTAL car snob. I've only driven BMW's since I got my license but after 3 kids, knew I needed the minivan. The sliding doors sold me as we have a tight garage and I figured not yelling to the kids to be careful of my husbands car was one less argument to have not to mention the reduction in chances to trap fingers. I Love my car and intend to drive it for the next 10 years, at which point I will go back to my BMW (hopefully a 7-series). For now, it's the way to go.
Excellent Automobile
I bought this vehicle 3 weeks ago,so far drove 1000 miles, mostly combined driving and MPG around 19to20. It drives like Car, easy to maneuver,i came from car to Minivan, did not feel much difference compared to car. I like driving this van with my 3 month kid,its kid friendly ample space to keep family stuff for travel, daily commute. This van is really fun to drive I chose Honda over Toyota because Honda Scores way over in safety ratings than Toyota Sienna.
1st Honda
We have had this vehicle about 2 months now and we are very pleased overall. Interior is roomy and seats are very comfortable. Third row seat stows easily and back adjusts for comfort. Getting avg 20 mpg. We narrowed our choice down to the Odyssey and the 2011 Sienna. The Sienna's interior looked cheap and the Odyssey's seats were more comfortable. Ultimately, the Odyssey's seats and seating configuration won.
Still the best utility vehicle
This is our third Odyssey. My wife is the primary driver. For a while she inherited my Escalade and she was happy to give it back and get another Odyssey. The Touring model has just about everything you need in a car. It's great for shopping, travel carrying the kids and for her and her friends to go out on their various expeditions. It's quiet on the road and has enough height to see around traffic. On long trips its comfortable and nice to know that if you've got to haul people or gear it's ready to do the job. Over three models never a problem and build quality is always flawless.
Excellent Minivan
A year of experience with this minivan has built me a good impression for this minivan. It confirmed that we were not wrong with our choice for this minivan. I rate this minivan as supreme with its performance primarily, as that truly concerns when you are on the road. It is powerful and agile, and truly great to drive. Curving and ascent were superb, and driving control is totally great. Fuel efficiency is impressive but can still be improved though. Features are also great providing comfort on the road for both the driver and the passengers. With its versatility, this vehicle is a total partner for the family. It's lower body attitude gives it sportier look and it's form a distinction.
well worth it!!!
There is absolutely nothing mechanically wrong with this auto .. I am going to up-grade to a newer model, same style Honda Odyssey

I love this van But!
Firstly this van is and has been for the past 4 years ive owned it very reliable. i trust this van to take me anywhere and with routine maintenance like oil changes/filters/brakes etc. the van has been smooth riding and comfortable for my family. its an 8 passenger roomy and has all the features to my familys comfort. the fact that the sliding doors windows roll down is a major plus since it helps if the ac suddenly goes out like it did in our older model. the only thing which is why i didnt rate this van 5stars is that the sliding doors i absolutely hate. constant problems with them and you never know when it will malfunction and not work anymore. Sometimes the doors will open and shut smoothly, other times it will just keep bouncing back open like something was caught in the door. but it was clear. this is a common problem. dealership want to charge 100 bucks just to look at the doors and not do anything about it. i dont even know how much it will cost to fix at the dealership. no body shop in my area will work on it. so my wife and i decided to not fix it and just load the kids in through the driver and passenger doors like it was a coupe. if only the doors were easy to close manually that will be a great help. yes i do recommend this van to others. just take care of it, and it will do the same for you. my van is currently at 163k in miles and we plan to keep it until the wheels fall off and then upgrade to another version.

Hooked on Honda
This was my first Honda purchase. Had a Dodge Caravan and was ready to upgrade. Dodge was nothing but trouble and still is. This van rides smooth and has excellent pickup when needed. Also feels and looks much larger inside. Love all the door cubby space and compartments. You can really feel the difference in the quality in the Honda. Overall a really nice van.
