Used 2019 Honda Insight Sedan Consumer Reviews
Not that great of gas mileage
I have almost 6000 miles on the car and I have only averaged 41.6 MPG. I have a 25 mile commute and I average 75 MPH. When the weather got colder I noticed my mileage dropped from 41 to 36-37 because the engine has to "warm up" before EV mode will kick in. The car is garage kept so it's not frozen by any means. I am not super happy and have never gotten anywhere near 50 MPG as advertised. Would I buy the car again? Probably not.

This car is awesome
I have the touring model. My only con is that it doesn’t always get quite the mpg that is posted but it is still phenomenal. It looks far better than the Ioniq and Prius but doesn’t sacrifice much in terms of space. Honda makes cars that are generally more fun to drive than their counterparts from Toyota and Hyundai, and this car is certainly no exception.

DRIVERS ED ALL OVER AGAIN
There's a lot of new tech in this car. I feel like I need to read the owner's manual a little bit each night to get to know all the features. Last night while driving home, I discovered that "auto lights" includes auto dimming of bright lights too. Who knew? Still learning & loving the 55 mpg I'm getting.

Don’t expect reliability .
The vehicle has great gas mileage but it’s not reliable at all. The car has little over 2500 miles and I already had to take it to service twice. First it was rear shock replacement and two recalls and second time loud rumbling noise coming from front left.(Service Dept didn’t even bother to explain to me what the problem was) The brakes makes this creaky noise everytime you come to a full stop and the worst part is you have to deal with unfriendly/unresponsive dealerships that don’t even care. Stay away from Honda insight and you won’t be disappointed.

MPG BARELY HITS 40
The design of the vehicle needless to say is great but the vehicle performance is under delivered so far. There is an annoying engine sound that will sound like you are going 80+ MPH but you are only going 35mph. And the worst part, I have not gotten my 47-52 MPG EVER! I have tried every trick to hit the minimum MPG and I am not even close. Very disappointing! #falseadvertising

Delivers on what it promises
Update - 8/30/2020: still amazing after 14 months and haven’t had to do anything beyond scheduled maintenance. Also consistently getting better than rated gas mileage. Seems to hold its value quite well. Looks are subjective but I think it looks much better than the civic sedan, which is mostly identical to the insight. My original review from when I bought the car is below: This is a comfortable and super efficient commuter car. I love the adaptive cruise control, it’s made my commute in heavy traffic so much easier. I just set it and the vehicle slows down and speeds up as needed, while delivering 55 mpg or better. I live in Colorado and see even better MPGs when coasting down a gradual downslope. I don’t even have to try for good gas mileage, it is just that efficient! I’ve gotten up to 70 MPG in daily driving. Seats are comfortable and ergonomics and technology on board are good and easy to use. If I have to nitpick on cons, I would say lack of lumbar support and not enough padding on the armrests. This is my 4th Honda and the brand continues to impress me. I recommend the Insight to anyone looking for a solid commuter vehicle.

2019 Honda Insight Touring
We've had our Honda Insight for about 7 months and we absolutely love it! We were reluctant in purchasing a Hybrid, because most of them are an eye sore, but were very impressed with this vehicle as soon as we saw it. My husband drives a lot of miles each week to and from work and this vehicle has saved us quite a bit of money on gas.

Infotainment System Unreliable
Since purchasing the car in late June and after driving it only about 1,500 miles, the infotainment system began to crash unexpectedly. A call to Honda tech support did not resolve the issue and the deal from which I purchased it said "Honda is investigating issues that they are having with the system."... which would have been nice to know before I bought it.
