Love my 2004 the Honda Element
I have been driving my 2004 Honda Element for a few weeks now and love everything about it. I bought it from Sport Honda in Silver Springs MD. Julius was our saleman. He is just wonderful and sweet. So we have had a great experience with everything.

Versatile, Functional, Futuristic
Awesome! My other car is a Mercedes SL500, and I find myself taking the Element more often than not. The Element is fun, well-built, and incredibly versatile. The interior is the greatest asset. It has rubberized surfaces for easy cleaning and long wear. The rear seats fold to make a bed, fold out of the way, or can be removed. This car can do snow, dirt, camping, hauling, delivery, daily driving, and it does it all well.
I'm in my "element"
I love this car! It's practical for a mom with kids for around town or a weekend trip, and it has the Honda reliability! Especially love the rear open side doors.......gives a lot of room in the back.
funky but gets the job done
The Element might look alittle weird but if your looking for a reliable 4wheel drive at a decent price, and like to take long drives, this is your best best!
not my dream car but....
I wanted an SSR but the "War Department" said (an emphatic) "NO ." A compromise is now the vehicle I look forward to driving daily. We drove to NYC 3 weeks ago in every bad waether condition imaginable and the ELEMENT conveyed us four in comfort AND STYLE ! This car was designed for Generation X....but everyone I see driving it is an old fart like me !The back seats come completely out to leave a cavernous amount of space and the mileage per is much better than my Wrangler. As far as I'm concerned , Honda has a big hit on its hands with the ELEMENT ! And such a deal I got : Leased it on line and our salesman delivered to our HOUSE ,ON A SATURDAY !
elements are excellent
i rally like mine, it rides nicely, and its a honda so you knwo itll last forever as long as u keep the maintenence up on it.
Excellent Family Car
With two small kids and a dog, I needed a second car that could carry everyone if needed (and if our van was unavailable). The Element is great in this role. On weekdays it gets me to work and back, and on the weekends we can gather up our gear and the dog and go. Liquid spills and dog hair are all easily washed away. A fun car to drive. Honda build quality is evident everywhere.
Please; Sir May I have Another ???
My wife had got hers in march of 2004 it was a 2003 Dx 2wd hold over. I was driving my 2001 gas hog F150 14 mpg in town and 16 highway and it was just killing me in cost to keep it gased up so bye bye to that at $2.00+ per gallon so now after a few months with the ex i had only 1 prob with the cruise button that broke and her 03 dx had to have the drivers seat bracket replaced i was told this (the seat bracket)was a issue with the early models but thats it.
Fantastic & Fun
This is just a fantastic & fun vehicle to drive and own. It is smooth and peppy on the Interstate. It is quiet and comfortable in the city. The washable interior and the fold up seats make it a natural to haul feed or seed or lumber for my farm. It is large enough with the rear seats folded up to carry many appliances and furniture. It is shorter than my wife's Ford Focus but the ride and interior space seems almost to be that of a luxury SUV. We have more than 50,000 miles on it in about eight months so I have the length of usage to speak confidently of its abilities. Oh yes, it's audio system is great also.
Military Buyers Beware!
This is a great SUV/Truck/Car, however, if you are in the military, and receive orders to go overseas, Honda does NOT work with you so that you can take your vehicle with you. It's too bad they can't work with the men and women who serve this country. Next time, I am buying a Ford!
The Best Kept Secret is Out
This is the best car I've ever owned. It's all-purpose functionality is excellent along with the wonderful drive and comfort.
Love My Element
My Honda Element is only one month old, but I have bought enough new cars to know better than to base an opinion on emotions or new car smell. This vehicle is something special. It has achieved an awesome balance between vehicle types.
I Love My Element
I have been extremely pleased with my Element. So far I have only about 2000 miles on it but I am extremely pleased. It is fun to drive and handles well for this type of vehicle. Of course, the Honda quality speaks for itself and so far I believe that the Element will live up to the Honda reputation. It gets one of two responses from those who see it. Either they think it is really cute and love it or they think it is totally ugly and don't like it. It definitely isn't for everyone but I kind of like that. I am interested in pleasing myself, not pleasing the trend. If this vehicle continues to please as it does now I would say that it is a home run!
Love My Element Except for AC Issue
I love this little SUV...the AWD is grippy when you need it, the performance is okay for what I need (it can get out of its own way at least), the roominess inside can only be described as CAVERNOUS. It is super fun to drive because you can turn it on a dime and put it anywhere...it's very responsive for a box on wheels, surprisingly so. It has been reliable and dependable on everyday jaunts and on long trips. The seats, while not cushy, are VERY comfortable, like sitting in a chair rather than in a car. 1000 miles doesn't even fatigue you! One bad thing...AC compressor went at 36K miles and it will cost $1200 to fix (lowest estimate). CR-Vs and E's of these years have been known for this.
Fun and economical
This is a fun SUV -from the styling to the performance. We call it our baby Hummer and laugh because it gets more than 5 miles to the gallon. It's amazing the pep this SUV has with a 4 clylinder motor.
Honda Element
The Element is versatile and roomy, rear seats remove or fold to sides...great storage, especially overhead compartment, controls easy to read and automatic shift in comfortable position. The rear seating is roomy, although the back only seats four. The car is reliable and runs well with excellent steering and breaking. The fuel economy is good. I average 24-26 MPG. The Element handles well in ice and snow and has a killer stereo. I love the MP3 jack for my ipod. The side doors opened easily to load equipment.
Elementary My Dear Honda
I have had my Honda well past the breaking in. As a matter of fact when I collided with a red light runner last year, I was lucky to have been driving my Element. My daughter and I were unhurt, and my Honda withstood the impact very well. The firefighters who rescued me were also impressed by the car-airbags deployed and all. I cannot say enough about this vehicle except to say that when my daughter leaves for college next year she will be driving the Element, and Momma is getting a new car, another Element. After all, when something fits and works so well, why change it? Thank you Honda engineers, you made the perfect multigenerational car. Now make a hybrid Element for me
Youre My Boy Blue
Got my new fiji blue E last week and i love this car. i cant wait for warm weather and to go camping this summer. my first new car so i am pretty excited about it.
We Love It
We have a toddler and two large dogs. Thanks to our dogs and kid this car really gets dirty quick but thankfully it cleans up quick. A damp sponge works great on the interior. WE did have one problem with it this past summer when a full pump sensor failed and the car lost power and the engine light came on (the vehicle had to be towed)but that appears to be a fluke incident. The car has been running great since then. The car has nice pickup on the highway when passing other vehicles. A wonderful car at a reasonable price! We love it.
Love This Thing!
We just purchased this vehicle as our primary vehicle. We love it. My husband is 6'3" and has more than adequate room for him and our growing son without kicking the backs of the seats anymore. Now neither of them are eating their knees anymore like in our old sedan. I certainly would like to buy another one!
element
It is the perfect car for me. I have 2 large dogs, greyhounds, that fit perfectly with the seat backs folded down. Also, I am a horticulturist that sometimes need to carry plants, equipment and mulch. All of which fit very well in the back with the seats folded up along the sides. There are plenty of tie-downs so that things aren't moving around, and everything cleans up very nicely. It's worked out just perfectly!!
E-Review
FUN TO DRIVE, acceptable fuel economy. Does not like crosswinds, or rough/uneven surfaces, otherwise has a very surefooted feeling and easy to drive. It has swallowed everything that I have thrown at it easily, from tons of luggage to wheelchairs, etc. ), and a standard radio that plays MP3's. When I drive, I am in my ELEMENT, I love it...
BUCK THE SUV/MINIVAN TREND!!
This is, by far, the best value vehicle on the market!! It is the most practical, economical, fun-to-drive vehicle built today and it turns heads wherever I go!! It not only gets good gas mileage and has tons of cargo room, but it has umpteen seating configurations and is easy on the wallet. Also, the quality of the workmanship, fit and finish, standard features make for an unbeatable deal for the price!!
Great car so far
For a 4 banger it moves! This is a very practical SUV with ok gas mileage. My son and I camp in it every summer and have plenty of room and plenty of fun. After driving Subaru's for over 20 years switching to the element was the perfect choice. I feel this is a very well engineered and reliable vehicle that I fell is going to be the best vehicle I have ever owned.
honda element
I bouht this for my business. It is wonderful. I am a caterer and we cart all kinds of things including food. we can wash it out and and dry it in no time. handy AWD in the winter. I dove it down south twice this past year. I would buy another one in a second.
Ms. Elee
I love the functionality best of all!
Very Functional Vehicle
We have only had the vehicle for 3 weeks, but we have already taken a trip with it and put on about 2,000 miles. The vehicle has surprisingly good pep, and the sound system is well above average. It rides well, has plenty of leg room (my 6'8" brother in law had room to spare in the backseat), low road noise and most of all, it is very functional. I have only two criticisms; first, I only averaged about 24.7 miles/gallon on interstate (which was a little disappointing). Second, when you fold up the rear seats for storage (which is really nice feature), you have greatly reduced visibility and are forced to use mirrors almost exclusively (I don't think Honda can help that though).
It works for me
I had seen an ad for the Element about six months prior to its release and was impressed by the look. As soon as I had driven one and saw the roomy interior I was sold. I have three big dogs and they all fit comfortably inside. Clean up is a breeze. I have been on a couple road trips and found that the Element handles great on the Interstate and the milage was a bit higher than what was on the sticker. All in all it was the vehicle I was looking for at this time. I rather enjoy the strange looks I still get when I drive past.
Honda Element
Have really enjoyed this car even though I'm older than the target demographics.
BEST HONDA EVER
I was in the market for a new vehicle. I knew I didnt want a car. I felt safer driving an SUV but wasnt sure if I could afford one. I test drove the Element and fell in love with it! Not only did I feel safe driving it, but I absolutely loved the way it looked inside and out. I have had it for about 6 months now. It is EXCELLENT on gas, FANTASTIC in bad weather and snow and I can honestly say that I have never in my life have received more compliments on anything I have even owned! To this day I am still amazed on how much room this vehicle has inside. This is the best purchase I have ever made!
good choice
has lots of room, very usable cargo space. Easy to keep clean, fun to drive, solidly built.
I love my Element!
I love the appearance of my car. What a wonderful experience to love to drive it as well. It is fun and responsive and I get lots of comments about it- good and bad. People seem to either love it or hate it.
Great Car
Extremely good car for anyone. People on the street are always pointing at the car and admiring it. The inside is incredible. There is so much room in it. In fact, there is more room on the inside than in any other SUV I've ever been in.
Ugliest Car in the World?
I thought it was until we went to Italy and I saw some of the Fiat vans over there. We love our Element. We put 200k miles on a 1987 Real Time Wagon and that's why we bought Honda again. We're still driving the wagon to keep the local 'round-town miles off the Element. Element has entirely adequate power, tons of interior room if somewhat excessive headroom. Handles OK, rear seating is comfortable, but visibilty is limited from back there. What's with the sunroof in the back where you NEVER use it? Should have made seating for 3 in the back. There's room.
Love my Honda Element!
Driving an Element is like living in a light-filled cabin on wheels. It can go anywhere, turn on a dime, and can be configured to handle anything from a large armoire to people to surfboards. I am not a car person, but this little car has captured my heart! Sleeping in it on a camping trip is a treat -- you can see the stars through the skylight over your head.
Kick ass
This vehicle is exactly what the doctor ordered. I can tow my motorcycles, get it muddy, go snowboarding and not have to worry
Element makes sense
Element is the only suv thats large enough to fall under the competitors size, with out the high price tag. It is only 200 lbs heavier than the crv and yet delivers great gas mileage for it's mass. It doesn't make sense to pay high dollars for a vehicle that gives bad gas mileage and is not as acomodating as the element. This suv was built for me and I have been waiting all of my life for it. My wife and i will never drive anything less again and hope to purchase an advance model in the future.
the funny looking Honda
I really did not think I would like this vehicle, I was SO wrong. I owned a Lexus previously, and quite frankly was sick of the payment. My Honda Element is so roomy and it is the smartest thing I have done in a long time. The gas mileage is awesome. I truly love it.
In My Element
We enjoy camping and travel to National Parks. The Element with its versatile interior design meets many of our camping needs.
I LOVE IT!
I LOVE THIS CAR.
a great car - the plus & minus of it
Overall a great car.We own an 01 Accord and love it.Our family has owned many models and years with very little negative to say about Honda. The Element continues in this tradition. The combination of economy and utility is a great aspect of this car.The back seats can't be fully reclined to latch up inside unless the head rest is removed. This appears to be an oversight since the owners manual and website make no mention of removing head rest. The moonroof needs improvements- with the glass in- it opens a paltry 3-4 inches. When you remove the glass, the optional screen that I purchased isn't supposed to be used when the car is in motion.A power roof like we have on our accord would be great.
Great practical SUV
Space-hard floor-great sound system- easy handling
After a long search ... Eureka!
I am 6'6 and with two teens who are going to each be over 6 footers I was looking for a car to meet my "high" expectations - the Element was a godsend. As a fastidious car researcher and owner, I needed high quality (which meant Ford or foreign) respectable gas mileage, with lots of legroom front and rear, and I wanted it to be stylish and fun to drive. I got it all with this car and the price was fabulous (about $3800 off sticker on a 2004). I was so tired of seeing rounded car blobs or cookie cutter SUVs. This car has pizzazz!
A great ride
It's been a long time since I've felt this good about a car. I know it's a little weird looking but it feels just right!
Very satisfied!!
I love my Element. I have two large dogs. It handles like a car but is like a large van inside when I put my sits up. The seats are also light enough for me to put in or out by myself. It's large enough to sit four comfortably and still bring my dogs along!
Room, Room and more Room!!!
Speaking for myself and one of my children who are 6' tall. The room can not be beat! We went to every dealership in a hundred mile radious and the Element won out. It has taken us a little bit of time to get use to it's looks on the outside but now that we own it we love it! The only thing that we wish was an option was a built in navigation system and DVD system built in.
Nice but Not for Sasquatch
We bought ours as a 2 yr old model with 26K miles. I named it The Earl-ament. We bought in preparing to have a more baby friendly car, that has some ground clearance in case of high water. We are very pleased with the vehicle. We wish we could find a slightly larger vehicle with the rest of the features that would help accommodate the stuff two little boys.
Great overall
Great fun factor vehicle. I am getting about 25-26 miles per gallon with manual transmission. This is a great car that would serve the all the purposes: vacation, basic transportation, big item moving or purchasing. Mine is a DX, so the only thing I miss is the cruise control, everything else is very well thought and placed. I love my Element, and I plan to have it for a good while. Buyer beware: if you drive it, you'll like it... and buy it.
Element
I was in the market for a work vehicle, the Honda Element&the Nissan Ex- terra were my two choices. After test driving each manual transmission vehicles my choice was clear. I had a trailer hitch installed last week, will be hauling two Harley Davidson motorcycles soon behind the Element.
