Used 2002 Ford Taurus Consumer Reviews
Nice car, bad battery
Have had mine since I bought it new in '02, other than a couple of cosmetic issues which the dealership fixed the only issue has been that the battery shorted out. Wondering if this is a known defect with these batteries.
Great Deal - Poor driver comfort
I got the SE model without the adjustable petals. I find that the seat, pedal distance, and pedal location all add up to make my ride uncomfortable even for short distances. There is just something about it that isn't right. Maybe it is my height (I am 5'8'') but still, it doesn't seem that it was designed to completely put the driver at ease. I have to prop my thigh up with a small towel to give me the distance and height that I need. Besides this, I do feel that the car is a great deal. You get a whole lot of car for not much money. You may not get the performance and build quality of others cars, but it is worth the price.
Recommend Ford Taurus with Exceptions
My vehicle is a company vehicle. The only complaints I have with this car is the amount of room provided with the standard driver's seat and not having the duratec engine (3.0L 4V the 3.0L 2V is standard). I had a 2001 with no power seat or power pedals and it was unbearable to drive do to the seat not going back far enough(I am 6'3"). I was able to pass that car off and get the 2002 model with a power seat and power petals and now enjoy a comfortable drive.
Love it, love it, love it
I really didn't want another Taurus. I drove the Altima, Camry, Maxima, and Gallant. Did I mention I really didn't want another Taurus? But my friend said drive one anyway. I fell in love. New style is to die for. My model is fully loaded..some things are a little extravagant, but oh well!! Drives like a gem. Solid, hugs the road, sporty, practical, and GREAT price. Go ahead!! Splurge on the leather seats..it's worth it!!
solid value car
We've been very pleased with our SEL Taurus. The ride is comfortable and the car has been very solid. No major problems, other than one seat belt mechanism that broke. (covered by warranty) You can get the mileage stated but only if you drive 55-60 mph. We lose about 3 mpg going 65 or higher. We think it is a great value for what we paid, and has been a sharp looking family sedan.
