A Great Truck!

Since owning my baby, I've never had a problem. I love my truck and have taken it just about everywhere. For a small truck, it can pull quite a bit. The only drawback I have noticed is the fuel economy, but there is a price to pay with everything! After driving a Toyota with no power at all, I knew that this was the truck for me!

I found the gem of a used truck Thnksgvng 01. A 99 Ranger basic baby A/C, AM/FM Radio, 5 speed, 13k miles, yes 13k. A gift truly to be thankful for. The only problem noted was a vibration in the rear end at 65 mph and as I am a commuter that was a big deal. However, between Ford and Carmax the problem was fixed and I cannot say enough good things about my Ranger. This is a bare bones truck that delivers the goods anywhere any time. She makes me proud and works hard for me w/o any complaints.

Total Recall

The only reason I went to the Ranger, after having so many excellent Toyota FWDs, was cost. I've put only 25,000 miles on my Ranger, and it has performed well. It does well in the snow and offroad, and is very comfortable on the highway. My biggest problem is with the gas mileage, but I knew that before I bought it. Shame on me! Also, I have grown tired of the various recalls. They do make you wonder about the quality of Ford products. (My Toyota pickups had nary a recall in 30 years.)

I have always been a ford man, but this truck really stinks. Bought it slightly used at the dealership. Have had the transmission worked on a total of 3 times since i got it. Had the alternator replaced. The harness for the headlights burned out. The lights in the dash quit working. EGR valve replace way too early, Twice.

After owning a Chevy Blazer(which broke constantly), and a Jeep Cherokee(that was also a regular problem), this truck has never gave me a whimper in 90,000 miles. I go off-road often. The engine has been modified and I am very hard on the gas. Still, It runs, shifts, and drives like the day it was bought. I never thought any vehicle would last this long taking my driving style, the durability of this truck is absolutley amazing.
