Used 2016 Ford Focus Sedan Consumer Reviews
Buy a Mazda 3 instead
Transmission is awful. Grinding and shaking is called 'normal' by Ford service. Noisy pumps are also considered 'normal'. I tried to save a few bucks and buy American but this will keep me from ever buying a Ford again. Comfort on long trips is lacking as well. Parking brake is positioned just in the wrong place and digs into right leg.

Expected mediocrity - got superb quality
I rented this automatic SE focus last summer from a hertz with about 26K on it to do an extensive 4000 miles drive across America. I was not disappointed. Immediately, I noticed that it jerks a little bit shifting from 1st to 2nd gear or going from a dead stop to accelerating. According to some forums and the reviews on here, i'm not entirely alone on that. Other than that, no real shifting problems as it does great on the highway and low speed driving. For gas mileage, I was able to achieve as high as 51MPG doing 65MPH without A/C, 47MPG doing 70MPH without A/C, but on average highway speeds W/ AC about 44MPG. Stop and go traffic W/ AC was on average 34MPG. In comparison to the other competitor vehicles, I was really impressed with the gas mileage and how I was able to easily get over 430 miles on a 12.4 gallon tank - The same amount of miles I get pushing my '96 AT 2.2 accord with a 17 gallon tank. For a mid grade SE package to have 2 USB ports, 2 power accessory ports, an AUX input (in center console) AND a review backup camera is impressive for the price you pay. Above-average quality speakers and entertainment center. At 6'2 and 260 pounds, I honestly fit in better than I thought I would as well as getting in and out - way better than I do in that said-accord. Interior is what you'd imagine it would be for a domestic brand compact car...nothing special, but it is somewhat nicer than what I am used to. Handles great at all speeds although getting pushed by the wind of a semi is expected for a smaller car. Wind noise is average - again, it's a compact domestic brand vehicle. So would I buy this car? Absolutely. I was really looking into a Honda fit for my commuting and long travels, but I'm going to consider this car definitely. If you're like me and you're looking for something that gets very good gas mileage, handles well, has a sufficient enough power for the higher speeds, is easy to maneuver in, and you're not picky about things like interior quality and technology, then this '16 focus is definitely a considerable option - definitely this over a GM or Chrysler division product.

The perfect car
Go to a place where the sales people know their product and are willing to take the time to explain the vehicle to you. This is the first time I purchased a Ford product and I had a good sales person who took the time to discuss the vehicle and show many of the things that make it a great vehicle. I find the rear view camera to be a great asset and the car is comfortable to ride in, but a little difficult to get into, but in time I am sure that I will adjust to it.

Made in Detroit
Got off to a rough start, the clutch gave out within the first 2 weeks. The response from the dealer was less then stellar. I've gotten use do the double clutch. It's like having a stick without the stick. It wants to slip on steep inclines, heavy accleraton, etc. Overall, it rides nice for a car with performance tires. Besides the clutch, I haven't had any issues.
