2025 Buick Enclave

The Buick Enclave is not going gently into that good night. The recently redesigned Enclave has granted Buick's largest crossover a new lease on life with an entirely new look that suits the more premium aspirations of the Buick brand. It also packs a ton of fresh tech, a high-quality cabin, and space for adults in all three rows. Buick is trying hard to regain buyers after years of uninspiring efforts. But three-row "luxury-adjacent" SUVs are a competitive class, with quality alternatives from Acura, Hyundai and Kia. Still, the Enclave's blend of comfort, features and value should make it a compelling consideration.

For 2025, the Enclave trades its old V6 for a new turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 328 horsepower, 326 lb-ft of torque — both figures get nice bumps. This should help the new Enclave improve on its 7-second 0-60 mph acceleration from our last test. But more importantly, it should give the Enclave more grunt for low to moderate city speeds and more shove for highway passing. Besides more power, the Enclave gets more screen: a 30-inch widescreen display spans two-thirds of the dash and integrates a digital gauge cluster and infotainment touchscreen. It's an impressive piece of tech, although we've found its curvature shrinks the usable area of Apple CarPlay. Fortunately, the Google-based software can natively run many Apple and Android apps in a full-screen environment.

The Enclave's corporate cousins — the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia — offer a different flavor to the same format. The Traverse interior isn't as snazzy but also costs less, while the GMC is more square-jawed and rugged and can handle some off-road work. The Enclave presents a more affordable alternative to established luxury choices like the Lincoln Aviator and Lexus TX. But against its more closely priced rivals like the Acura MDX, Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride, the Enclave has its work cut out.
