Damn, I hate to love this car. It has screwed me many times. I'm sure everyone is aware of the recalls.This car stranded me 1500 miles from home with a rear wheel that almost fell off (15K miles). Two days to fix and ford wouldn't pay for hotel. I can't imagine what would have happened it the wheel had fallen off at 75 MPH. Key became stuck in the ignition (25K miles). The driver said it was the 3rd focus he had towed that DAY! My drivers seat has broken and now pokes my rear unless I use a towel. Ford said this was not covered under warranty.Why do I still like this car? It was cheap and fun to drive. It looks much nicer than a $14K car.

We have had this vehicle in the shop 10 or more times since we purchased it. All for the Check Engine light. They have replace everything, The last time it was in the shop for almost 2 months, They told us the engine needed to be replaced and then they replace the values on cylinder 3. We pick up the car and within 2 days the check engine light came on again. Then they told us the values on cylinder 2 need to be replaced. We like the car but this problem we are having doesn't seam to go away for long.

The car is great... i love the way it looks drives and handles. The fold down rear seats provide oodles of storage space when you need it... However, i too have been to the ford dealership a little to often for my tastes. Everything has been covered by the warranty but i bought a new car so i wouldn't have to worry about the problems. However, i know my service guy really well now.

We bought our 4dr.FocusZTS brand new in Oct.2000. I'm 5'6", my husband is 6'8" (345lbs) and we both fit fine. The seats adjust in height.The steering wheel telescopes. In 3 short yrs. we've put 76,000+ miles on it. Our round trip commute to Houston, TX is 70 miles. We've had no problems. We had one accident but the Ford Dealership and Our insurance (Allstate)handled everything, giving a lifetime warranty on all work done. We paid 16,400 (absolute total), with all the extras, no trade-in and a 4.9%APR in 2,000. We love 2000 Ford Focus Sedan ZTS.
