purchased my f-250 with the 5.4 liter. i was woried at first that there wouldnt be enough power for a vehicle of this size but it actuly is just fine. I tow from time to time but never any more than 7000 pounds so i went withe the 5.4 liter. i get about 10 mpg in the city and 15-16 one the highway 70-80 mph. I love this truck has all the room you could ever want. the wife wanted an suv and i wanted a truck so we compromised and got the crew cab. also got the long bed mostly for the extra fuel capacity (38 gallons). I do recomend geting the step bars and the reverse vehicle sensor. due to the height and lenght of the vehicle. trust me you want them!!

If u want a truck with power and a whole lot of torque this is the truck to by. this truck could tow other trucks down the street like nothing, last winter i was blocked in my drive- way by the 3-4 feet of snow the snow plows piled up, i just put it in 4x4 high floored it and it went right through it like nothing u can feel it cral right through it. the one thing i dont really like about it is when your on the highway and u just feel like speeding the truck starts to slow down at 97 mph, i guess the trucks made for power not speed. but if u want a whole lot of power this is the truck to bye.

I like the comfort and the mechanical performance. The diesel, even with a manual trans mission, has power when it's needed. I had a problem with the tail gate denting when someone jumped onto it from a loading dock, carrying a 50 lb. feed bag. It just doesn't seem as sturdy as my '78 F150. The depth of this tailgate is wider but has no reinforcement in it to prevent it from collapsing under weight.

I bought the crew cab because my kids were too big for the Toyota Tundra that we traded in. The truck can seat 6 comfortably, haul my 3 motorcycles in the back and still tow a travel trailer. Of course the big V10 engine helps out there. I've only had one real defiecency, a bad coil at 20k miles.
