V8 5.8 1996 Ford F-150 XLT Super Cab
I bought this truck used off my local Ford dealers lot. It was a very old truck to be on their sales lot and on the front line. I owned a 1995 F-150 LT at the time. My mechanic was always asking me if i wanted to sell the LX. The Ford dealer was asking $9500 for this old Ford XLT. The truck had 100,000 miles on it. My mechanic gave me $5500 for my LX so in my mind I upgraded for $4000 to the XLT Super. My wife loves my truck. It's big and roomy. I am now at 137,000 miles. I figure with a new truck costing so much I can rebuild this truck many times. My milage is around 11 MPG around town. I have a friend with a 2018 XLT and he doesn't get much more MPG. I might be interested in the new Ranger if it had a V6. No turbo 4 cylinders. The only 4 cylinder I would consider is a Tacoma.

I bought this truck as my first truck in 2009. Has a straight V6 in it with a 4.5 L engine. bought it with 150,000 miles on it. I added two 10" speakers behind the single cap bench seat and still had enough room. Was really surprised because i am a Big Guy. I also added a 2 in lift to the back of the truck. Doing this added 2 extra MPG. ( with tailgate up ) GREAT truck. Perfect Turn radius with 1:1 turn ratio. Once you drive this truck you will wonder why they made new ones.

THESE TRUCKS ARE THE BEST
Truck is good value
Bought the truck over a year ago with 80,000 miles. Now got 96,000 miles did some work/maintenance on it. Rust is decent but its old. Told to get a manual cause "thats the only good setup with the 4.9," but i hate shifting that thing. Its slow as hell, and the mpg is about 15 no matter what. The engine is awesome but the M5OD stinks IMO cause it won't last long. Gotta replace all the hydraulic lines, master cylinder, and slave cylinder cause theyre too old and its leaking. Thats about all i gotta do but i can't wait to get a car thats better on gas and aint a pain to shift. Its not really that bad of a truck but I like to vent out about it. ha!
Great Truck
This is a great truck. I use it for hauling horse trailers and construction. It is great for going up hills and for 4WD. With a few extras it has great handling and speed.
