This is my second Expedition, my other was an 03. While I do greatly apppreciate the interior design and roominess, the seats are not very supportive at all. My transmission went out at 60k miles, and I just put a new alternator in it. Now I am being told that the rear climate system needs a new motor. It thumps whenever you turn it on. It is just problem after problem with these Ford's and I heavily reccomend you not buy one. I am going to trade in my Expedition for an 04 Chevrolet Tahoe LT. My Expedition is beautiful solid black with the chrome exhaust, but is certainly not beauiful for my pocket book! Go with the more reliable, cheaper to fix, better re-sale value GM Suvs. You will thank me

Auto reverse sensing mirrors are irritating as is easy exit seating. Transmission has made some loud bangs shifting into 4wd. Auto locks have pinched arms for both driver and passenger. Fuel mileage has finally reached 14 hwy in 2wd. Brake dust leaves front wheels black.

Could you live with single digit mpg? It happened to me. This single fact ruined my ownership experience. 18 mpg on the highway (after 10,000 miles), but I didn't drive it on the highway much. Low quality audio for a $48K vehicle - lose the Visteon garbage Ford! Chattering plastic parts in the rear liftgate took forever to locate and correct (did this myself). Rear axle seals went bad at 7000 miles. I desperately wanted to like this vehicle, and I did until the economics of driving it and the problems started up. This was my first big ticket vehicle purchase and I feel I was reasonable about my expectations. My idea of $48K worth of vehicle and Ford's don't match. Bitterly disappointed with Ford.
