Don't buy an escape!!
We have had this car for going on 3 years now. And since we purchased it,it started having problems! It's shutters and idles rough and loose power when sitting or driving! Pushing the gas doesn't help at all! Ford told me it was the purge valve canister stuck open and that was the problem. It fixed it for about 2 months and now having the same problem! Can't use cruise control because it jerks hard and loose power! It shifts hard into 2-3rd gears! Ford is not helpful and doesn't no anything!!! Backup camera works when it wants, that started failing not even after 1 year of purchase! I take very good of my cars so none of these problems are my fault.!!!!! No check engine lights come on or anything!! The only light that's came on is low tire pressure when I hit a pothole and it blew my tire and damaged the rim. This car has been nothing but problems and is unreliable!! Bank said the only thing I can do is sell it,or trade it in! And can't do either one! Just don't go buy ford! Spend your money somewhere else.

Not a fan of the '14 Escape
Bought a '14 AWD Escape Titanium on 9/4/13. The pros is the the handle and pickup of the vehicle. Have almost 17K on the vehicle. It is very good from a handle perspective going around turns and curves and the pickup is above average. I would not purchase one again becuz 1) the moonroof is a soft cover, I like to roll down my windows and the cover flaps unless I roll it all the way back 2) the air pressure in tires keeps going low and it doesn't tell which tire is low 3) already had the GPS replaced at 2500 miles 4) the gas mileage took approx 12K before getting 21 mpg 5) the voice recognition is extremely sensitive and is frustrating 6) AC/heat doesn't return to same level when turned on
Surpassed expectations
Having driven Toyota's and Hyundai's over the past decade, my wife and I decided to go domestic and test drove a Ford Escape. We were stunned with the level of craftsmanship and quality. We wanted the sunroof and purchased the Titanium that also includes the Escape's top-of-the-line package (did not include park assist). From the moment we took to the road, we fell in love with the Escape and have continued that love affair for the past two months. The car is quiet, drives easily, has a ton of features, and is easy to learn once you figure out the Sync capabilities. We also love the remote start, a must when you live in the south (North Carolina). Update: We are entering our fourth year with our Ford Escape Titanium. I still believe this car is the best in the category for the price versus features. Although newer cars have the lane alert, early brake warning, etc. We're looking forward to one more year with our Ford Escape before we move to ANOTHER Ford Escape. This is the first car we've had in our 32 years of marriage that hasn't given us major problems. Hyundai and Toyota both had major breakdowns by this time. Ford has been reliable year after year. They made a strong reliable product. And as a used car, I feel certain it will give the next driver just as good reliable mileage as we've had.

78,000 miles and going strong - first owner
2014 Escape 2.0L Titanium 19" wheels, sunroof - still running strong at 78,000 miles. Paid for extended warranty covering up to 8 years/100K miles for piece of mind. Still absolutely love this car. First all the good news...Runs well, still tight, performs well, good gas economy, quality paint job. Built Oct 2013 as a JOB1 edition, Also great paint job. Love looking at car. Repairs - now on 3rd set of tires - LOVE LOVE the Michelins, Conti's got rough at 35k-38k. Had the RR wheel bearing replaced - got noisy. Have now replaced 3rd brake light twice. Have replaced various bulbs (rear brake, front turn signal, cornering light). Need someone with very small hands to help switch front bulbs/ rear brake light easy to change, no other repairs. Annoyances - drivers seat lower cushion leather cracking, wish the BLISS indicator lights on the outside mirrors were larger and brighter, had to replace all lug nuts because the stupid plastic clading/ brought solid chrome replacements on Amazon before recently replacing tires at Costco. Great features I continue to use: Sport mode - much better 1:1 pedal to acceleration response when feeling sporty; keeping car running after closing door/honking then locking for a quick run into a store, B pillar push buttons to lock/unlock car without a key; seat heating dials instead of buttons, so easy to reach all controls; 4 spoke steering wheel that allows me to hold steering wheel at bottom when cruising; electric windshield wipers both sweeping out to clear more windshield. Overall - best car I have had since my first car in 1973 by far!
