Two weeks ago my wife bought an 2010 Escape with 39000 miles. The sensor on the throttle body went bad & left my wife setting along the road. The guy at the Ford garage said he had replaced five of them in the last two weeks & there probably won't be a recall. None of the Escapes had over 44,000 miles on them. Lucky she bought it from a local car lot & he took care of it.

I recently purchased my 2010 Ford Escape used, with just over 41,000 miles as a company vehicle. Aside from being well taken car of it's a good looking car, it has taken a few day long trips now over some of the mountain roads in Colorado, and I have even taken it on some 4x4 sport trails. The handling is great, and the ride is quite comfortable. The gas mileage is great, and the car is actually more compact than my friends Outback. This is a great vehicle overall, and a blast to drive!

Excellent pick-up after changing the throttle body

My daughter bought this car brand new about 6 years ago. I drove it several times, with no pick-up, noisy as it accelerates, being a 4 cylinder, I thought this was normal since I never drove a 4 cylinder car before. Last week, after 72,000 miles on the car, the throttle body was changed and the pick-up was a difference between night and day! This car never performed like this before. After I brought the car home from repairs, I asked my daughter how did it perform going to work the next morning, and her comment was "Amazing!!!". It looks like this part had issues from the start.

Bought this car new in November of 2009. It currently has 38,000 miles and has been on several cross country road trips. Friends are always impressed with sync and with the power that comes from the v6 engine. The 6-speed transmission really gives it a great boost in fuel economy. 22 city, 28 highway and I don't drive like I want to take forever to get where I'm going. Absolutely no problems with the car, and the fact that it hits the high rpms in a very short time is a big seller since it gives the car a great amount of power increase. Quiet on the road and no noise from the transmission or engine like some others have reported. No leaking on the passenger side either. Great car!

UPDATE: AC is broken AGAIN! I keep getting it fixed and it keeps going out. I bought my 2010 Escape brand new. Loved the interior space, the way the rear seats fold total flat with no gaps between the fold when seats are down against the front seats. The controls and gadgets are aesthetically pleasing and well thought out. It's been so much fun driving it and done countless moves with it and we're always impressed with how much it can store. However, in 2014, we started having issues that are not everyday maintenance. I have since replaced the entire air conditioning system because of the filter bag inside the AC dryer burst causing a total clog of parts. No recall and when I spoke with Ford, they said that they would have to run a full diagnostic on it to know what the problem is. I had done my research and knew what the problem was. They informed me that they couldn't just check what I thought was wrong and would charge me to start from square one until they discovered the problem. I took it to a small mechanic who upon checking the suspected issue, found total clogs. I was right, imagine that. After that, my brake pedal went "soft" AKA FAILED while driving. Sometimes it worked well and other times I could stomp on the pedal with little to no stopping. Took some researching and we replaced the brake pads, rotors and master cylinder. Now I'm dealing with "Power Steering Assist Fault." My power steering is gone and the wheel is locked up. My car is currently un-driveable. When I called the actual Ford company, they told me that my care doesn't qualify for the recall 14S05 "Steering Torque Sensor." They suggested that I take it into my local dealership, pay for the full diagnostics and repair, keep my receipts and pray that my VIN eventually falls under a recall. I can't afford to throw money at Ford so they can apply the KISS method when I know what's wrong. So we're going to the small town mechanic and hopefully they can fix it. I don't believe in Ford, the company, the product, or the people who are supposedly there to stand behind the product. I try to support American made but then they have customer service that is obviously foreign and difficult to understand. My family believed in Ford for decades and has even worked for them but I will NEVER waste my money on their product again!
