Used 2003 Ford Escape Consumer Reviews
Let It Snow!
After driving a rented Escape for a week in Colorado I was hooked! It was comfortable (which for me is very important, I am short and this is the first vehicle that I can drive and not feel like the steering wheel and dash are in my chest),peppy, and quiet. My driveway is 200 feet long, uphill to get out in the morning and with even an inch of snow I was never able to get out with my minivan. Now, even with 8" the Escape doesn't even struggle, it just plows right through to the top! All though I did tons of research prior to buying, I went with the Escape and I'm so glad I did!
My 1st SUV!!!
This is my first SUV, so I can't compare with others. But so far, I have no complaints. The car chassis feature is why I chose it. I have been a Ford leaser for many years and did not necessarily wish to stay with Ford, but after checking other makes and models it was this vehicle that overwhelmingly won me over. I am happy I did the research and have been enjoying the easy ride, the ample space and the absolute comfort of my SUV!!!

Escape won me over
Never owned a Ford.... never cared to. But then came the Ford Escape! Lots of BANG for the $$ and lots of room. Only Ford I'd recommend!!!!! Thanks FORD!!
Wonderful SUV!!!
I love this car! It's car foundation gives it handling that is perfect for the city, but it is substantial enough that light trails hardly felt any different than the road. It only has a 15 gallon gas tank so when on the highway I have to stop often to fill the tank. I bought the new 'Gold Ash' color(very distinctive). The back seat is roomy and I have personally fit three kids and a dog in the back at once and everybody was still comfortable. My chief complaint is knob placement inside. The knob's are grouped close to the steering wheel and difficult to see sometimes. Other than these relativly minor complaints overall a great car for any active person.
Great inexpensive SUV
I love my little SUV. I was a always a car driver - and this feels quite like a car - so for those looking for a truck feel, you dont' get it. I traded a Toyota Avalon, so the ride is not in the same class, but the new Avalon is over $10,000.00 more than I paid for the Escape.
