Great In Almost Every Catagory
The Durango SRT performed great in every category in its class with the exception of towing. To maintain 65 MPH while towing a 3500 lb trailer (half of its 7000 lb tow capacity rating) required the engine to spin at 3,900 RPM causing a "engine oil change required" warning message on its dashboard display, even though the engine oil and oil filter had just been changed. I'm guessing this was due to dangerously high oil temperature. BTW, the "SRT MODE" was set to "Tow", the road was level, the trailer (20 ft travel trailer) was not overloaded, and the outside temperature was about 75 degrees.

Drive time vs. Shop time
This is the third Durango we've owned. Our first was an '01 SLT that has 120,000 and even after being rolled, is still a "no problem" daily driver. The second was a '16 R/T that was an extremely impressive grocery getter and tow vehicle. And then we saw a You Tube video with the new '18 SRT and had to have 1. We got ours Oct. 30. '17 and was 1 of the first 5 in the Northwest. Wow, what a Beast!!! Having all the bells and whistles you could want in an SUV, it can't be beat! And the sound of the pipes when you stand on it it sounds like old school headers and straight pipes! But after 2 months it was in the shop because every time we parked it the brakes locked up when they accumulated moisture from snow, slush or rain. Even in our garage, which is about 50 in the winter, it still happens and Dodge doesn't know why. They locked so hard one time that it broke the steering gear just trying to move it and had to have the steering box replaced. Since we've owned it has been in the shop every other month with front-end issues, like clunking noises putting in drive or turning left and vibrations around 55 to 60 mph It has 21,000 miles and it ALREADY needs 4 new tires, front brakes and rotors!!! That's gonna run me over $2,000 that's not covered with warranty. If we were hot-rodding it or towing trailers DAILY I'd accept that but we don't! We bought this so we had a ride that has plenty of power to run down the highway pulling our 4-place sled trailer or our 4-wheelers and be comfortable doing it! The cool factor of the 392 SRT was just a bonus over our R/T, but with all the front end and brake issues we've had I'm kinda paranoid to drive it at highway speeds, pulling anything or not. I can't speak for all the '18 392 SRT owners, but I'm starting to get little embarrassed about all the shop time it's seen. I will say this, it's a real head turner and 1 helluva beast, with towing and power comparable my Ford 7.3 Powerstroke, but a lot more comfortable with better acceleration! Other than that, I think we should have kept our R/T which was, all around, just as good.

Beats? Upgrade?
Beats being the upgrade in THIS vehicle? Disgusting ! $76000 ? Would have probably have bought it if it had the Harmon Kardon. Bought a Hellcat with Harmon Kardon at another Dealer, sight unseen ! Very Happy !

durango with gusto
gps doesn't hold enough destinations and disk player only holds one disk at a time. If you have cd music collection or books on disk you will be disappointed. If you are sensible 23 mph on highway is likely. I have had 24+ on trips of 400 miles using eco drive. Engine response upon entering highway is awesome. ( V8)

Computer issues
I have a 2018 Durango GT that in July of this year, 2021, the truck started via the remote and than shut down when I got in to the truck. I do love the space and comfort of the truck but I am not happy with how I have been treated by Chrysler. It has been at a dealership in NC where to date, December 22, 2021 they have replaced the Keys and RF hub twice, the Ignition switch, and the PCM with no change. They are now replacing the BCM and attempting to put the blame on me. Chrysler would not help me out with any rental and or a fleet vehicle and my truck has been out of service for five plus months. Shameful customer service. It has soured me on all Chrysler products. After 9 Months I got the car back. They finally replaced all the main computer components and it seams as if the BCM was the issue. The dealer continues to blame me for the issue and Chrysler corporate did nothing to help me. A week after getting it back the check engine light came back on. I am now getting rid of the vehicle.

My '18 Durango RT
Best SUV I've even owned! I need a vehicle like this to haul my pontoon, snowmobile trailer, and a couple of other miscellaneous trailers. I love the 5.7 motor, and drove but would NOT consider the V6, as it is too underpowered for this weight and size of vehicle

Best SUV I have ever owned
I have had few suv brands but the Durango R/T is the best of them all and I did my own research as to what to expect in terms of reliability and did notice most people had issues with their water pump and still decided to get it anyways and that has been one of the best experiences of my life.A lot of people are scared with the gas mileage but I can tell you if you drive like I do mostly using my cruise control you will have one of the best gas mileage out there. The HEMI engine is responsive, quick and more room for my family hope it helps.

Durango with Hellcat engine!
We own a 2011 Durange Crew 4WD 8cyl. We love it and were looking for a replacement for a 10 year old VW CC, but needed space for dogs. The SRT of course performs far better than the CC, has updated technology, but more impressive - handles better than the CC, and I loved that car. The only things you won’t like are the price and gas mileage!

Badass With Luxury and Function
This has to be one of the best, if not the best, cars I’ve ever owned and I’m 60. Great looks, magnificent exhaust sound, faster than dammit. Plus, the interior is very stylish, comfortable, and feature-rich. Has never given me a bit of trouble either. Probably the most reliable car I’ve had. Anyone who thinks FCA build quality is not up to par hasn’t owned one in recent years.

Unsafe due to sensors
Trying to back up at night swerving to dodge things on the side is dangerous cause the display for back up camera will not turn off causing you to be blinded to watch for things on the side of the car. Trying to use ramps to check things is very dangerous due to it will not let you go when door is open so you can not see the ground under you while you are making decisions. We make long trips and they put things up on the steering wheel where you can not stretch your arms. Very small cargo space and the black interior gets so hot the little kids have to sit in floor board. Does not seal very well sounds like there is a window down all the time going down the road. Had good tires put on and they said that they had to put the psi that is recommended on the door which is not half of what is suppose to go in the tires. Performed badly with those psi. I put what is suppose to be in the tires and stops in half the distance and handles a lot better. Not sure why they have all that and not way of turning it off the display comes apart under 50000 miles.
