2015 Tahoe is the best one yet!

I’ve read a bunch these reviews and had to add my 2 cents worth. I’ve been buying full size Chevy Blazers since 1975, and Tahoe’s since they changed the name. I always buy the new body style within a year of introduction, and keep it until the next one comes out. I traded my 2007 LTZ (which was a great truck for 135,000 miles) for my 2015 LTZ. I thought they’d never top the 07, but the 15 definitely raised the bar again! More power, two more gears, better fuel economy. The acceleration is more than adequate for a 6000 lb vehicle. My 2015 has every option except the power running boards. The magnetic ride control and air ride suspension is amazing, it rides like a luxury car. And I will never go back to standard cruise control since being spoiled by adaptive cruise control. I’ve driven it 75,000 miles to date. Averaged close to 20 mpg over those miles. The power train has been bullet proof. I change the oil with mobil one every 5k miles and run a tank of premium gas once a month or when I’m towing. I changed all the differentials fluids every 50,000 as suggested. I purchased the extended bumper to bumper coverage at 35,000 miles, well worth the $2,000 (since I knew I’d be driving it 6-7 years). That covers me until 115,000 which should last until the 2020 arrives. Had a few issues that have been taken care of quickly by the dealer. Did have the AC fail three years in, but it was fixed in a week. The heated steering wheel failed twice, dealer replaced them no charge. The rear hatch defroster wires broke off a few times, dealer soldered them back on. That happens with every one I’ve ever owned, wish they could figure out a better set up. After the being soldered twice they replaced the rear glass hatch (covered). I replaced the OEM Bridgestone tires early on with Michelin’s. Truck still has the original brake pads! And I do trailer my old car to shows with this Tahoe. The built in trailer brake system works great. This Tahoe tows it easily, although it kills the mpg’s. Love the heated/cooled seats too. I don’t know how they will make the next Tahoe better than this one, but they haven’t let me down yet and it’s been going on for 40 years! Suggestions to GM - Some larger mirrors would be nice! And I did lose my front tow hooks (which I miss) when I opted for adaptive cruise control. Hopefully the next Tahoe will offer both. Making the 6.2 V8 optional would also be nice, and I’m looking forward to the 10 speed automatic, read good reviews on it.

New Fuel Saving Technology burns oil

We have had the Tahoe for 4 years and generally love this rugged and roomy vehicle. All the features and performance are as we expect, but with one glaring exception. The engine comes with "cylinder disabling technology" and this means that sometimes your big V8 will shut off 4 of the 8 cylinders and downgrade to a V4 at low speeds and while doing econo-driving. This is a great assist for fuel economy but the bottom line is those four dead cylinders are still attached to the crankshaft and are being dragged along. An apparent unintended consequence of this technology is much higher than normal oil consumption. It took us awhile to figure out where all the disappearing oil on a brand new vehicle went to, but indeed, after about 2 years of testing we have figured out these big Tahoe's with the V4/V8 technology will consume about a quart of oil every 1300-1500 miles. That means you won't even make it a full 5000 miles between oil changes without the low oil alerts coming on, and you will need to supplement the oil level with 2 to 3 quarts before you get to your regular scheduled oil change. GM can make a nice non-oil burning V8 in their sleep, but they seem to be struggling with this technology that switches it down to a V4. Frankly, I like the vehicle so much, that I don't mind putting in a quart of oil every 1500 miles or so, but the wife is almost foaming at the mouth about the issue.

2015 LTZ WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES!!!

This SUV was not my first choice for hubby, but I had the opportunity to drive it long distance for a dance competition and this SUV delivered beyond expectations! The stunning chocolate/mahogany interior and ease of interior appointments were great and easy to use. The comfortable ride made a long trip tolerable. Agree that the 3rd seat option is cozy at best, and limited trunk area when it is used. Luckily it is not used often. If you are looking for a nice ride, comfort and feeling somewhat safe when driving, this is the SUV to have! Actually, really love it!

Town or Country

We love our new Tahoe 4x4 LTZ! We've had it for 3 months and taken it on long trips and towed our 7,000 lb boat 6 hours to the beach and back. It truly excels at every task. My wife calls it the perfect truck for town and country. We love the 3rd row folding seats, the entertainment system, the towing and braking capabilities, comfort, and look of the Tahoe. It's just been a great vehicle for us and we wanted to share our opinion. Although I read lots of reviews, I've never written one before. I was happy to take a few moments to tell you why we love our truck and recommend it to you if you're considering it versus any other large SUV.
