Sporty fun to drive car
The pros are great gas mileage and sporty styling inside and out. Love the auto stop feature as it saves fuel. Cons are after owning this vehicle for less than a year ( I purchased it used) the alternator went out and had to be replaced. Was a very expensive repair but my extended warranty covered the replacement. I knew something was wrong when the back up camera began to malfunction along with the radio and turn signals. Overall, I love my sporty 2019 Chevy Cruze hatchback LT. I do worry about it's long term reliability though due to the recent repairs it needed. I would recommend this car to family and friends but just make sure if you purchased used you get some kind of warranty to cover needed repairs.

My little diesel dinosaur
The car feels solid, and the acceleration is okay. Once the turbo spools up, you get a quick initial shove, that quickly disappears in higher rpms. I did spin the tires while making a right turn onto a highway (grins widely). I loved that part. I’m honestly disappointed about how little horsepower the car has. I think the older 2.0 Luz engine might have performed exponentially better in real world driving situations as opposed to the 1.6l Whisper diesel I drove today. Lastly, the fuel economy was horrendous! I was only getting 7.5mpg mostly driving city! Even though the car salesman put a half tank of fuel in it before we test drove it. Overall, I mostly liked the faint clatter and growl of the little diesel and pretended I was driving a little truck. I give the 2018 Chevy Cruze diesel a rating of 4 out of 5 stars for my over all assessment of my little diesel dinosaur.

No Brainer
Weight is very low compared to the first edition Cruze. This is like a late nineties Accord only with a more solid chassis. I preferred the manual trans. LS to the LT version because it runs a lot smoother. XM is not available on the LS however I believe everything else is first rate and I recommend this model highly. Its motor performs very efficiently and handling is superb, very refined. It's wheels are showing rust after year 2, which is not particularly noticeable. The dealer here advertises replacement tires, however they cannot immediately provide emergency service under the road hazard warranty. That is, if any of the tires has to be replaced rather than just having the flat fixed, you could be out for the day. The Cruze had been discontinued in 2019, but I think GM may continue the engine for other models. Update — this is July 2020 — I thought I saw a new Cruze in the Home Depot parking lot almost identical to mine except for a front grille semblance to the Malibu. Perhaps dealers can still get the Cruzes still being produced for other countries? Hopefully we’ll be able to keep Cruzing for a long time to come.

2018 Cruze Is TERRIBLE , Do Not Buy This Junk!
I don't even want to leave one star for this Car. Complete Junk! So Absolutely DISAPPOINTED. The Brake pedal ? Why? Why would Chevy make the brake pedal stick so far out and then give it over-excited brakes. Nobody likes the whiplash you get when trying to stop this crappy car. Poor handling even in traffic. the car just feels lazy. You will never find a comfortable position in the very cheap and too small driver's seat and I am not a big guy. 5' 9". You can get better and more intuitive technology in a 2014 Camry. The Controls are either a pain to use, Non-existent or just not worth bothering with. Good luck with trying to see all the LITTLE pictures on the controls while trying not to die this crappy car. The AUTO-STOP can not be turned off. What a Joke! I hate this *&%$#@ car. This car deserves ZERO STARS. Complete and Total Garbage. and I only have 4000 miles on it. Going to be a long Four years. Really hope someone runs into it soon and totals this car so I can get rid of it. Update 03/20/19: Now at 10000 miles on this worthless POS of a Car. Didn't think I would hate this car any more than I did but I do. I will never buy GM/Chevy/Buick product ever again because of this CRAPPY CAR. Please, I beg you - Do not BUY this terrible pile of junk! Update 09/23/19 now at 21000 miles - STILL A COMPLETE PIECE OF CR@P! I covered up the STUPID worthless Infotainment screen with a piece of heavy stock gray paper, good thing i know how to back up. It was completely annoying that you cant turn down the brightness - its blinding at night. The SEAT - how to describe how bad the seat is. This car along with everything GM/Chevy build today is expensive worthless JUNK. i have had this car for one year and I WILL NOT be driving this Piece of Cr@p longer than two more years. you suck General Motors. I will never buy anything from GM/Chevy/Buick ever again.

Not Impressed
I recently got this as rental car while my 2015 Kia Optima LX is being repaired for minor body damage. The difference is astonishing. My Kia has more power better features better radio and more comfortable. Chevy despite its good advertising has a long way to go.
