Great car for the money
I love my Cruze Diesel. The car is reliable and I love the interior design. Remote start is great to have on snowy day so that when I go out to go to work the car is nice and toasty. Heated car seats and steering wheel are nice features as they loosen up my joints on cold days. The fuel economy is excellent I average about 45 and use my car for ride share and food delivery services so a lot of city driving trips. On a recent trip to Vegas and back I averaged 65.9 on that trip. So no complaints there. Went from Provo to Vegas and back on one tank of fuel. Love it live it love it. The price for the Diesel engine is worth it even though it is more than its gas counterpart the fuel economy rivals hybrids which cost a lot more than the Diesel engine cost of the Cruze. Things I wish they had done better is to put the heater with auto temperature control in the diesel like they do the LT gas version. Would like to have the RS Package more readily available on the diesel version as well. But those are minor issues. Would recommend to family and friends.

Amazing car
This was my first "big girl" car and I wanted something roomy with good gas mileage and a little kick in the engine. The Chevy Cruze is a dream! The exterior is gorgeous, the turbo engine gives me a satisfying boost, and I only pay $27 for a full tank (Roughly 426 miles). Get this car if you need reliability and a sporty look without sacrificing mpg!

Pros of Auto-start
I’ve had this car for 6 weeks. Previously I drove a 2008 Hyundai Elantra manual. This is an automatic. I’m slowly getting used to not having control over shifting thus the transmission rating for me personally. Unlike most others I like the auto-stop feature, so my review is mostly about that. It’s not as jerky as some have written. It doesn’t engage when you’re turning corners—you need to be at a full stop and it engages after a few seconds, only if the cabin temperature is sensed to be as cool as your setting. If you change any setting at all the engine re-engages. It also does this if the temperature rises, but always in less than two minutes so it doesn’t drain the auxiliary battery. The auxiliary battery and starter are under the trunk liner—it doesn’t use the main ones. It’s not loud. It starts up instantaneously. My average speed over 6 weeks is 21 mph and I’m getting 28.2 mpg, all local city driving, not highway. A lot of people don’t like this feature, but I encourage those on the fence to try it out for a few days as a rental or loaner from your dealer. Another feature I love—although I have a base model I somehow scored a seven speaker sound system instead of the four. My Elantra was a “sport” model. This rides smoother, is quieter, more solidly built, and handles as well as the Elantra. It has great acceleration—no problem scooting over and passing at all. It has more inside room than I thought it would. Three boys in boosters fit in the rear seat. The inside trim isn’t high quality, but I don’t cause a lot of wear and tear there. I have Arctic Blue Metallic and I love the color. The exterior design is more attractive than the Focus, Accent, or Fortè. All in all I’m extremely happy with the 2018 Cruze. I’m leasing mine and with zero down—truly zero—and $2500 trade in I will have paid $5832 cash out of pocket over 36 months at 10,000 miles per year. $8332 including my trade. Update 2/10/2019 The car handles well on the ice and in the snow. No rain worries either. I’m at 5900 miles and still love the car. I’ve updated the mpg and mileage below.

Crusin' in the Cruze
This is a very satisfying car to drive. Since it is an LT is doesn't have the larger wheels and lower profile tires of the Premier model resulting in a very quiet and smooth ride. Handling is still very good with great steering and good directional stability. We are a retired couple and don't get too excited about all the electronics available on these newer cars, however blind spot warning and rear park assist would be nice to have (and are available on Cruze but ours doesn't have them). We are averaging over 40 mpg with mostly highway driving. The back seat room is fine and trunk space very good. We have experienced no problems of any kind after more than 5000 miles of driving. Update: Now have 13500 miles on the Cruze and no problems whatsoever. Still getting over 40 mpg on average and enjoying the great driving characteristics.

Best car I've had so far
I'd love to have another Cruze. Tight steering, radius. Amazing on gas. It may not have all the bells and whistles but it drives smooth and little road noise to none at all. There is a slight pause when putting the gas petal down to the floor but when it picks up it can fly (within se onds) . I feel safe and that I'm in a car that is very reliable. The interior is attractive with nice color coordination with all the seats. It's a shame that 2019 will be the last production line/model that rumors has it.

Sporty for this old guy
Good highway performance maintains speed with little effort. Feels solid I love the appearance was going to buy Ford Escape and tool Cruz for test drive and I thought this is car for me. Three reason style ride and performance between 40 and 42 miles per gallon on highway.

GREAT car not too small, HUGE improvement overall
Actually a Great car for the price, can beat MPG at a constant 68 MPH. Very decent acceleration, but if you want a little more pop, go into tap shift and let revs go a bit higher. I notice Edmunds erroneously states that you cannot over ride the engine start/stop feature. That is untrue, if you are in tap shift mode start/stop is disabled. Much better legroom in 2nd row compared to prior generation, and the added center console was a much desired feature. Big plus for the simplicity and clarity of dashboard information, ant the LARGE Radio screen ( also where the rearview camera displays ) is bright, clear, easy to understand large icons, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto feature links your phone. Bluetooth is equally simple, and nice crisp clear sound.

Great value for your money
This car is a great buy. I admit I was skeptical about buying it, since the reputation wasn’t great on early 2000 year models. Mine has acceptable acceleration, good comfortable seats, plenty of legroom for back seat riders, and awesome cargo capacity with the back seats folded. I just packed a 55” TV, 2 Xbox systems, 2 sound bar systems, and other items with room for more. All electronic systems work great. The LT with the driver’s convenience pkg is the perfect mid-grade deal. I’m enjoying this vehicle. No regrets. For the people who complain about acceleration, what are they doing, pulling a trailer or something? It’s an economy car, not a sports car!

Perfect Vehicle
I was in the market for a vehicle for about two months. I didn’t even think about purchasing the 2018 Chevy Cruze Premier Hatchback. I test drove the Cruze, my current vehicle now and a Mercedes C 2012. Of course technology was a huge different between the two with age, but the Cruze not only drive stellar, it had all the bells and whistles I wanted. I got Apple CarPlay, heated front seats, automatic car start, built in WiFi, heated steering wheel was a plus, and satellite radio. It’s great on gas and again, it drives stellar. If you are in the market for something with all the technology you want and need, this is your vehicle.
Lemon ... fresh out of GM factory
This is an brief overview of my experience with my Chevrolet and with General Motors in the last year. Back in early 2018, I chose to trust GM and factory ordered a new Cruze ... and since the day following delivery, I started facing malfunctions with that vehicle, which accumulated and escalated ever since, despite dealership service departments’ best efforts and multiple part replacements. - basics : 2018 Chevrolet Cruze LT 6M Diesel, delivered 15 Feb 2018. - malfunctions : since delivery ... blank dashboard, misfiring engine (for several months), diesel particulate filter regeneration failures (occurrences seem to happen randomly, and are still unexplained by GM), multiple vehicle “alerts” (over 25 check engine light / OnStar error code occurences). Initial delivery was delayed by weeks since vehicle inspection had revealed malfunctions that needed to be fixed. - remediation : all these malfunctions resulted in at least eight specific trips (often multi-day) to my dealership service department (obviously not including standard maintenance), and multiple part replacements (including EGR valve and fuel injectors - some taking well over a month to reach the dealership). Pointing out my vehicle does not live up to the most basic expectations one could reasonably have with a new car, I have given GM ample time and opportunities (through their standard “Customer Care” and escalation processes) to offer a reasonable resolution. Their response is there is no “lemon law” in Canada, and they have been diligent in dealing with these issues according to the warranty terms. As a conclusion, the accumulation and escalation of technical issues with my vehicle would have led me to recommend against similar engine (1.6 diesel) vehicles (current generation Cruze, Equinox and Terrain). General Motors blatant refusal to stand by their product and reputation now leads me to recommend against any of their products.

The perfect “Point A to Point B” mobile!
Bought this vehicle expecting great gas mileage and reliability & it delivers both while looking good. I have a small family and we all fit just fine in the 2019 Chevy Cruze, (I’m 6’0) with room to spare. Has decent get up & go for a 4 cylinder as well, I have the LS trim which is sort of like the base model but it has everything I really need at a cheap price. If your looking for a good looking wallet friendly Chevy simply to go from “Point A to point B” this is the car for you, and hurry up because Chevrolet is unfortunately discontinuing the Cruze!

No Compromise
If you want a car with class leading MPG that still has all the creature comforts like electric windows and air conditioning, a smooth engine and supple ride, and still delivers over 50 highway and about 35 city MPG — then this is a no brainer. Most importantly it feels solid with heavy doors that embody GM’s focus on passenger safety. It’s got handling precision yet doesn’t feel lightweight on long trips. I have the manual tranny model LS, a choice of those who take on a full driving experience. I over-revved it one morning and the check engine light came on. I found no other driving issues but brought the matter to the dealer’s service dept on my way home. They said it was too late to start working on it but would do it the next day and gave me a loaner to drive meanwhile. They found out that just some carbon had settled on a sensor and fixed the problem. Their loaner-a Cruze LT automatic-was not any appreciable difference over the LS other than the slightly better speakers. Offsetting that, it transmitted more engine vibration- felt through the steering wheel-and had more road noise with it’s wider tires& aluminium wheels. The auto slows the car down off throttle. Sometimes the bottom of the front air dam hits the road when you are exiting a parking lot over a sloping sidewalk.

Very Good Compact Car
I was looking for a good compact car as a daily commuter to and from work, and the 2018 Cruze is exactly that. After testing a bunch of compact cars, my favorite was the 2019 VW Jetta, but I went with the Cruze because it was less expensive and the VW dealership in my area was much further. The Cruze is not super fancy, but it gets the job done. Pros: Lots of legroom for the driver and front passenger. Trunk is very well shaped. Once it gets going, the little 1.4L turbo engine can really haul. It's quiet and stable on the highway for a compact car. It actually feels bigger than it is in many ways. Crash test scores are excellent. Also, its infotainment features are very good. Good radio and climate controls, Bluetooth works seamlessly, satellite radio is very clear. Also, I love that I can see the tire pressure for all 4 tires, as well as the battery voltage and the engine oil life percentage remaining. Makes me feel that I have a decent understanding of what's going on with the car. Cons: While the car can move very well once it gets going, from a stop it feels just a bit sluggish - clearly the engine needs to rev a bit to get into its power band. Also, I'm not too keen on the stop-start feature. It's pretty seamless, but I feel it adds complication for very little fuel savings (especially since I drive mostly highway). Also, the driver's seat doesn't really have lumbar support, but a $25 memory foam cushion fixed that. Finally, the rear seat passengers don't have a lot of legroom (competitors like the Jetta and the Corolla have more). Brakes are decent and mileage is OK (low to mid-30's on average, high-30's on the highway). Over all, I'm very happy with my purchase. The car is comfortable, maneuverable, roomy and rather fun. Plus GM had some incentives that priced it lower than competitors.

Not impressed so far..........
Have had my Cruze LT hatch for 29 days today and, so far, am not impressed. This vehicle replaced a 09 Cobalt Sedan, with a manual, that was the best vehicle I had ever owned. The "Android Auto" feature is constantly "offline" and this is supposed to be 1 of the biggest perks of this vehicle. It is hard to get in and out of and I have yet, after 29 days of ownership, found a comfortable seating position. The "start/stop" feature, which I was aware of, is already annoying as well. So far my best mpg figures have been 27.4, far from what I expected. Maybe I expected too much after 8 great years with the Cobalt. There may be a Ford Ecosport in my immediate future... *Update...have now owned the car for over 18 months, completed an extended trip (750 miles), and now have a new opinion of the car. I was very impressed during the trip as the car averaged 35 mpg and had ample cargo room. Power, acceleration, have never been a problem and contributed to a nice trip. I have now gotten used to the "start/stop" function (still would rather not have it) and the Android Auto still doesn't work as it is supposed to. My GPS and Ipod help deal with that issue. I plan to keep the car now for a few years. If Chevy still made it i would recommend the hatchback for its performance and cargo capability.

Great little Diesel!!!
So I’ve had the car for a week. Only reason why I am giving the car a 4 out 5 is simply because after a week I had to take it in due to a check engine light and unable to read the code. For a turbo diesel I was expecting more of a get up and go and it does however the horsepower for the engine was lacking. Still an awesome car. The fuel economy on this thing is amazing! It’s not the millennium falcon but it will do!

Great Car so far
Bought my Cruze new June 2019. Had it for almost 7 months 6000 miles not one issue so far. I realize that is no guarantee of longevity or long term reliability but my 63 years experience has been that new cars that do not need warranty service right away are a good sign of build quality. Nothing negative to say about the car at this point. If the next 100k are as good as the first 6k I will be very happy. At 24k and 36 months replaced 02 sensor. 501.00. Way to expensive. Was not happy with my dealer response. Update at 28k 48 months. No new issues since 02 sensor last year. Had car now for 4.5 years, almost 30k miles. No issues or repairs since ladt update.

Cruzin For A Bruizin
Bought my diesel Cruze new last year. Got 20k miles on it. Two months ago, my power was reduced to half because of emission and particulates in filter issues. Very inconvenient being I was traveling through another state. Got home and had it serviced. Two months later, same thing. Very dangerous to have your "new" vehicle stall to 60 mph on an Interstate while traffic is flying by doing 80+. But some brainiac engineers thought its a good idea to risk peoples lives because of retarded software programming telling a mechanically sound vehicle to power down to force owners to attend to not so important repairs. Can't imagine the chaos that's coming down the pike when the warranty expires. Called GM while traveling to get help. Spoke to a Chinese woman named Mira who kindly made an appointment for me several weeks later. But It would have to be towed to the nearest dealership with me flipping the bill of getting back home. Long short of it is I drove several hundred miles through back roads to get back home. This car is totally undependable for long distance trips. This over engineering has ruined what otherwise could have been a great car. Buyer Beware!
Great little car
I'm 6'4" and find this little car more accomodating than my other car, which is a much larger SUV. I am getting about 32 MPG in stop and go driving back and forth to work, and I love the handling on curvy roads. The car is actually pretty good looking also (It has th RS package which makes it look sporty.)

Still a very nice car (Updated at 23,000 miles)
I’ve had my Cruze for 6 months and close to 7000 miles. So far, I’m very happy. The car is comfortable and has a number of nice features. Acceleration is decent, the car is smooth but also handles competently. Gas mileage has been around 32 for everyday driving and 42 on the highway. The stereo and infotainment systems are great and the Bluetooth works well. I’m 6’ 1” and I have plenty of room. Overall, this car is quite nice and I am pleasantly surprised. I have now had the car for 18 months and 23,000 miles. I still really like this car. The only issue I have had is a faulty locking module in the front door, which kept trying to lock all the door while I was driving. The dealer replaced the module and no problems since. I am still averaging about 33 mpg in mixed driving and typically 40-43 on the highway. The car is comfortable to drive and the infotainment system still works great, not glitchy at all. Even after 18 months and 23,000 miles, I would still recommend this car.

Great commuter, only small cons
1.4L turbo is great. Were approaching 30,000 miles on our car with absolutely no issues. Great on gas, roomy enough for a 6ft 1in man to comfortably drive. Apple and Android car play with rear view camera is standard on all models which is awesome. Cons: steering is poor. Suspension is comfortable but the steering is soft and you have to be careful how fast you take a turn. Shouldn't be an issue as long as you follow the speed limit and take turns appropriately but you will notice the poor handling. Brake pedal sticks too far out and too close to the driver pedal. I have large size 12/13 feet and always snag the brake pedal when trying to switch over from the gas pedal. Base model has no cruise control but if you have a far commute there should be cruise on a higher model so this issue can be resolved by getting a higher model. Overall the car is reliable and efficient despite the small issues with the brake pedal and the steering. P.s. alot of people complain about the auto stop engine and my opinion on that matter is that you should extensively test any car before you purchase or lease it. The auto stop will work the same when you test drove it and when you buy it, so if you didn't drive the car long enough to be annoyed with the auto stop during testing and now you're commenting here about how you can't turn it off and how annoying it is, then It makes you sound ridiculous. Update: 50,000 miles In 2022, this car has aged well. Mpg is still great (especially with these rising gas prices) There are 0 issues with the car. Still using factory brakes and tires, which still have plenty of life. One thing I'm still weary of is the turbo. It's great for power but from an engineering standpoint, it's working the little 4 cylinder harder than a N/A engine and chevy doesn't really have that much experience with implementing turbos in their vehicles. So far so good, only time will tell.

Great Chevy; discontinued for sale in the USA
Hatchback Premier, RS, with Driver Confidence Packages. Compared to the 2017, gives new meaning to "Government Motors". 2017: Leather seats, with pockets on back of front seats for the rear passengers; door buttons all four doors for keyless entry, all four seats heated, AC inverter at rear of console, GPS maps included at Driver Interface Console. 2019: "Leatherette" seats minus pockets, door buttons only only front doors, only front seats heated, AC inverter gone, GPS maps dropped to sell Onstar turn-by-turn instructions; RS package masculinized (more black -- Chevy emblems, aluminum wheels, added a "trunk" light. Our 2017 underperformed EPA fuel economy estimates by 10% under all conditions, though my spouse and I drive conservatively (GM/Chevrolet Executive Customer Support refused to address); the 2019 with same engine and transmission closed the gap between the 2017's underperformance with respect to fuel economy by half. Still a sporty car that drives very well. Shame to see Chevrolet make a mistake with younger drivers that want cars, not SUVs.

A Very dangerious car to drive at night.
May 25 2021 To: Edmunds Team, Well GM has done exactly nothing to correct the problem they created for me with my 2018 Cruze. So, it continues to be a very dangerous car to drive at night with the info screen in the upper dashboard on at full brightness. I bought the car new from Jim Butler Chevrolet in Fenton Mo in July of 2018, brand new with less than 3 miles on it. So, I did not discover the problem right away. The reason being is that I drive to work in what is before dawn in the winter months. As the days got shorter the problem showed up very well. In the dark morning when I pull out of the garage the computer screen Is on full brightness. For those who have told me, including GM, the dimmer control for the dash lights. It does NOT control the screen at all. No one seems to be able to grasp this idea for some reason, but true. I took the car to the dealer where I bought it and they flat out refused to even look at the problem at all. Even after confronting the service manager for some length of time insisting on the problem being corrected. I contacted GM customer service at the 800 number. They set me up with an appointment at Weber Chevrolet. They gave me a loaner car for a couple of days to see if they could find the problem and where sympathetic to my problem, but the dangerous screen brightness problem continues to persist. I can only guess that GM cannot repair their own design. I also doubt very much that my Cruze is the only car that GM made that has this problem. I have recently noticed that when I drive under an overpass in the daytime the dash lights will go dim and then get bright and even go back and forth as if the computer is unable to make up it’s mind about the light level. This morning after dawn, the dash lights came on full bright and the dimmer control has no control over turning them down or off at all. Am I satisfied with my first new Chevrolet. No ! I feel they should replace the entire computer system and get the problem resolved for the customer at last. W. Steward My Cruze has a defect and a software problem in the computer that they can't seam to fix. The dealer only tells me, "We have never heard of that". The software problem is that the back up camera is on full bright in reverse, even at night. There is no way to adjust it for using at night at all. This also makes it very hard to see the passenger side mirror when parallel parking at night as the glare is so bright. The real bad problem is the screen comes on full bright at night as well and that makes for a very dangerious drive any where at any time at night when it does this. I had to cut a piece of cardboard to fit over the screen so I can drive the car. It has an option in the menu to turn off the screen. But try and use that and it keeps coming back on while you are driving and that is not safe and a pain. So I would reccomend avoiding buying this car until GM gets off their butts to resove this safty problem. Jan 9 2022 Per my review of my Chevrolet 2018 Cruze. GM has had no idea at all about this problem. I figured out the problem with continued use of it. It is a software design problem with the bright screen at night. If you pull the sifter into drive to pull forward at night with out putting the car into reverse first, the problem is there every time. But by putting it into reverse you must wait until the backup camera comes into view before putting it into drive. It seams to be designed like this like you are backing out of a garage. But every time you pull forward with out it in reverse first it is bright. So if you stop for gas, or for anything, it is bright again every time. W. Steward

Great Tech, Lousy Build.
Pros: Purchased a 2018 Lt Hatchback Brand New in 2018 and it now has 33,000 miles. Commuting through New York City daily for work it gets an average of 33-35 Miles a gallon and about 45-48 MPG on longer drives. Its quite comfortable with leg room to spare in both the front and rear seats. Im 61 and and another average size adult can comfortable sit behind me. Apple care works very well, the Back up camera is very clear and the trunk space is useful. Ive carried everything from groceries to Potting soil without any issues. The cons however out weigh the pros. Cons: It does not hold any value. Within a year of owning the vehicle i notices that used ones with the same mileage were worth practically nothing. The transmission is not as responsive as it should be. IT sometimes shifts too fast and sometimes revs at very high RPMS. Knock Sensor codes are constantly popping up with the use of regular gas. Traction control system issues Sways over small bumps Clonking noises over rough roads (Chevy Mechanics cant find the issue) Transmission Jerks going into reverse. The audio system is absolute garbage. Speakers fumble a lot. The engine vibrates a lot. Looses traction easily in wet/ damp conditions Auto stop continues to enable itself at 3-5 Miles while in traffic cause the entire car to jerk.

We like the car but had to search to fix two things. The screen won't dim at night. We discovered you have to put it in reverse first (whether your want to or not), then the screen will dim. We skip auto shut off by driving in L6 mode.

Insane gas saver, fun MT
I’ve had this car since 79,000 miles and now am at 137,000 miles. The turbo went out at 81,000 miles which is an expensive repair, but the engine and transmission have been spotless. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. I’m also getting high 40’s going 70mph on the freeway. Be weary of the slave cylinder issue on the manuals, its buried behind the engine and has an extremely high failure rate. Aside from that, my experience has been extremely positive!

Cruze'n
Nice car 2017 Cruze R/S Premier. Heated seat OK, but sages down (compresses after time) and begins to punish you: RX get yourself a pillow for long trips. Hate the steering wheel radio tuner, ...if you have normal size hands (and probably even Trump stumps) you can almost be certain that every time you rotate the steering wheel (usually just parking) you will either change your radio channel or turn it up--what idiot thought that was useful? Not a good thing. The car handles the rod extremely well and easily has the quality of my former BMW and Benzes. I drive mostly highway and love the mileage ( around 40 mph) The ride is little rough but I guess that is what you get with the sports version.

Tranny issues anyone?????
I have a 2018 Cruze with the 1.4 turbo motor and the 6 speed manual. Love the mpgs I get with its. Consistent high 30s , low 40s. But i have a ticking sound at idle with the clutch not engaged. Despite many trips to the dealer and multiple times in shop, Chevrolet says its a normal sound. You can hear this from inside the car at a stop light in the backseat(per my kids). Just wondering if anyone else was having this same issue or not. Thank you
3 hour review???
Deeply saddened by GM’s decision to discontinue this GREAT car. My 14 month experience with this car, I feel, trumps Edmunds 3 hour test. Their comments on performance in particular are laughable when compared to my real life experience. I’ve driven my LT to and from Florida (2,500 miles) and found the overall experience more satisfying than the same trip with my 2018 XT5. My lease is up in September 2020 and I note the present leases on remaining Cruzes are a $100 + more than I paid...not the usual outcome for a discontinued vehicle. I rest my case!

Grocery Getter
I have owned my 6 speed standard diesel cruze for about a year/25000 miles. I have tracked my mileage, and have recorded when I have needed to add my cow piss. (It’s true...that’s what exhaust fluid is.) I live in New Hampshire where the weather can very from -20 to 100F. I average about 49 mpg during the summer, and 46 mpg during the winter. The change in mpg was sudden in both directions, which leads me to believe it was the fuel. I need to refill the exhaust fluid every 5000 miles or so. That process is annoying mostly due to having to dispose of the container afterwards. Plus they tend to drip. I’m 6’4” 250 pounds with an athletic build. The driver seat is comfortable for me, but no other seat in the car is comfortable. They don’t lower so my head is in the ceiling. Technology is my complaint. I personally don’t want a car to drive for me. You can’t completely shut off the traction or stability control. When the weather is bad I prefer them off completely. I have had bad experiences with technology causing big problems during dangerous situations. (Sometimes it is necessary to drive sideways...) I have also experienced in the Cruze, the brakes remaining on a good second or so after I removed my foot from the break pedal. I was avoiding a deer. I will not be buying another car if I can’t completely turn off ALL computer aids. Lastly, the back up camera is far too bright at night. (Probably because my car is white.) in any case it’s blindingly bright, again I wish I could turn it off.

Second Cruze
They finally got the undercarriage painted. see no rust yet
2018 Cruze premier hatchback
Purchased mid-2019 at 30% off MSRP and traded 2012 Cruze LT RS 1.4T sedan. Pros include ride, steering, handling, hill-climbing, infotainment, and feature set. Cons include thin sheet metal, molded plastic part corners that break off (taillights), placid engine/transmission response, fuel economy. Its not the perfect package of the 2012 Cruze RS but may still prevail considering features, reliability, and cost. 2020/10/17 update: working well & happy

MISSING PUN
Okay, listen, when I'm driving my car, and I decide hey I want to go on Cruise, it always pops up saying "Cruise set to" and whatever speed. BUT. IM DRIVING A CRUZE. It would have been so great for it to say "Cruze set to". THATS SUCH A GOOD PUN. I mean, whoever made the interior design HAS no soft spot for puns and that's my only complaint.

Still not caught up with the imports
Got a brand new one as a rental in Nashville. The car seems to handle well with plenty of reserve torque in passing situations and no hesitation when one stomps on the gas. Really impressed with the trunk capacity of this sedan. It held two huge suitcases and some smaller bags. One small item really bothered me...the backup camera. It was so fuzzy and pixelated, as to be almost dangerous to use. I ended up bypassing it and going old school by craning my neck. Interior is not noticeably cheap and the seats were fairly comfortable. The dash, especially at night in my opinion had a cheap toy look, blue readouts on black that didn’t seem especially organized if not outright confusing. For the limited amount of driving I did, I managed to go though a tank and a half of fuel. Not sure of the tank capacity, but consumption seemed rather high. Otherwise it is more than adequate as a small inexpensive sedan.

Great car except for the transmission
I had a defective transmission from day 1. Needed my car to stop in traffic and towed in before the dealer took me seriously and finally fixed it.

Solid vehicle
I have this vehicle since brand new and it's been 6 years of ownership now. I absolutely love this vehicle. It had great features as standard back in 2018 and it still holds up. Never had any mechanical issues so far, just regular oil changes. The handling is great, the speed and acceleration are good. There is of course a lag from the turbo (this is the same for any turbo charged vehicle), but the car still accelerates quickly when overtaking a vehicle. Braking performance is great and you always feel in control while driving. My wife, who drives a Jeep, always say my car is so zippy and responsive. And this thing is incredibly fuel efficient. My commute is mostly highway and I constantly get 40-42 mpg in my daily commute and 36-38 in the city. During multiple road trips, I saw averages above 50mpg. I'm really satisfied and happy with my purchase since I drove it off the dealership's lot. If I could go back in time, I would buy it again without a hesitation.

Cruz
Love my car and very happy with it
Great Compact Car
Previous to this car, that I purchased new, I owned 5 Honda and Toyota cars that I also bought new. The Chevrolet Cruze has been a much better car than the Hondas or the Toyota that I owned; much nicer to drive, much better fuel economy, far lower maintenance costs, and much more durable.
