Very Good Compact Car

2018 Chevrolet Cruze LT 4dr Sedan (1.4L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
I was looking for a good compact car as a daily commuter to and from work, and the 2018 Cruze is exactly that. After testing a bunch of compact cars, my favorite was the 2019 VW Jetta, but I went with the Cruze because it was less expensive and the VW dealership in my area was much further. The Cruze is not super fancy, but it gets the job done. Pros: Lots of legroom for the driver … and front passenger. Trunk is very well shaped. Once it gets going, the little 1.4L turbo engine can really haul. It's quiet and stable on the highway for a compact car. It actually feels bigger than it is in many ways. Crash test scores are excellent. Also, its infotainment features are very good. Good radio and climate controls, Bluetooth works seamlessly, satellite radio is very clear. Also, I love that I can see the tire pressure for all 4 tires, as well as the battery voltage and the engine oil life percentage remaining. Makes me feel that I have a decent understanding of what's going on with the car. Cons: While the car can move very well once it gets going, from a stop it feels just a bit sluggish - clearly the engine needs to rev a bit to get into its power band. Also, I'm not too keen on the stop-start feature. It's pretty seamless, but I feel it adds complication for very little fuel savings (especially since I drive mostly highway). Also, the driver's seat doesn't really have lumbar support, but a $25 memory foam cushion fixed that. Finally, the rear seat passengers don't have a lot of legroom (competitors like the Jetta and the Corolla have more). Brakes are decent and mileage is OK (low to mid-30's on average, high-30's on the highway). Over all, I'm very happy with my purchase. The car is comfortable, maneuverable, roomy and rather fun. Plus GM had some incentives that priced it lower than competitors.
Still a very nice car (Updated at 23,000 miles)

2018 Chevrolet Cruze LT 4dr Sedan (1.4L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
I’ve had my Cruze for 6 months and close to 7000 miles. So far, I’m very happy. The car is comfortable and has a number of nice features. Acceleration is decent, the car is smooth but also handles competently. Gas mileage has been around 32 for everyday driving and 42 on the highway. The stereo and infotainment systems are great and the Bluetooth works well. I’m 6’ 1” and I have plenty … of room. Overall, this car is quite nice and I am pleasantly surprised.
I have now had the car for 18 months and 23,000 miles. I still really like this car. The only issue I have had is a faulty locking module in the front door, which kept trying to lock all the door while I was driving. The dealer replaced the module and no problems since. I am still averaging about 33 mpg in mixed driving and typically 40-43 on the highway. The car is comfortable to drive and the infotainment system still works great, not glitchy at all. Even after 18 months and 23,000 miles, I would still recommend this car.

It looks nice and drives great with alot of bang for less of the big cost. Thanks to the sells team for all the help with purchase and savings.
Edmunds Summary Review of the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze LT Sedan
What’s new
- Optional diesel engine now offered on sedan and hatchback versions
- Part of the second Cruze generation introduced for 2016
Pros & Cons
- Pro:Feels sporty and planted around turns
- Pro:Touchscreen interface is easy to use
- Pro:Available diesel-powered engine for high fuel economy
- Con:Gas engine's disappointing acceleration and real-world fuel economy
- Con:Engine stop-start cannot be disabled
- Con:Front seats aren't particularly comfortable
Which Cruze does Edmunds recommend?
We're not fond of the standard 1.4-liter engine, but the diesel engine's significant price premium — at least when new — makes it hard to justify. As such, it's probably best to get the gas engine in the midrange LT trim. The LT has a decent mix of options yet remains competitively priced. Look for the optional Driver Confidence and Driver Convenience packages to get some extra safety and, yes, convenience features.

Driving
8.0With 153 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, the Cruze's turbocharged 1.4-liter engine should be competitive. But the power doesn't come on strong until high in the rev range, which blunts acceleration. Everything else, from the strong brakes to the adept chassis, is very well-sorted.
Comfort
7.5Given the relative lack of seat adjustments and the forward-angled headrest, it might take some fiddling to feel truly comfortable behind the wheel. The ride is pleasant, even with our tester's 18-inch wheels (the largest the Cruze offers). Mandatory engine stop-start is far from seamless.
Interior
8.0The Cruze might be classified as a compact car, but few will find the cabin confining. There's plenty of shoulder room for all outboard passengers. The raised center tunnel limits the usefulness of the narrow middle seat. The controls and gauges are mostly easy to get along with.
Utility
8.0Like many compact sedans, the Cruze has a sizable cargo area with a flat load floor and little intrusion from the wheelwells. The 60/40-split rear seats fold down should you need extra space. Inside, there are numerous cubbies for you and your friends to store various small items.
Technology
8.0Other than the subpar performance of its voice recognition software, the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system is one of the best in the business. The interface is attractive, uncluttered and, most important, easy to learn and operate. Standard Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is a major plus.
